This is a great review Taps. I had a 13x13 listening room for 27 years. My new house has a 20x33 listening room that actually widens by 8 more feet about 15 feet from my system. I thought at age 67 I needed a bigger house. LOL For years I had my TV lifted above my center channel with some 4x4 wooden blocks. I loved your solution better!
I’m in a smaller apartment in NY and I got the MK sound 750 series THX select and it has been perfect. Not to small and not to big.. give these a consideration you will be happy. I hope 👍🏽
Very good review and love your DIY approach hahaha...probably a tad overkill as you elude to with your small room. I would imagine turning down the sub would be necessary 😉
I’m in a smaller apartment in NY and I got the MK sound 750 series THX select and it has been perfect. I use an Anthem MRX 720 receiver. The MK Sound are Not to small and not to big.. I think they are similar in size to the Arendal 1961 series, which they don’t make any longer. But wish Arendal made all three sizes so could have more options. Consideration giving the MK Sound a listen if you can 👍🏽
It always makes me smile when you mention all my favourite electronic artists and films which other reviewers seem to miss entirely… (I’ve also watched Arrival, Prey & Seven a thousand times… and I also DON’T like John Wick!). I’ve been thinking between a living room home theatre setup consisting of either Aperion Theatrus (T65/T80’s) or Arendal 1723 S (Monitors) and having a tough time with it. Naturally I much prefer the look of the Arendals too and heard the Aperions may be a bit bright? Would you agree the sound quality/immersion is basically on par with each other so I can be happy buying the prettier Norway option? Thanks again for the review Taps! Nickolas
Maybe we’re kindred spirits sonically! Between the two I have to admit that the Arendal (from my memory) sounded better for music. So maybe that will help steer your hand!
The 1723 S series is actually quite old. I think they came out in 2018 or so. Can someone explain why we see a lot of reviews of these speakers in the last 2 years, whereas before there wasn't much? I realize that the innovation curve in passive speakers is quite flat. It's mostly the same ideas packaged in a different way all over again, and then there is the furniture aspect, that spawns many iterations just for visual appeal. But why this delay for this series?
@@0102studio - i could not easily see it, which is the only music source, other than a streaming source, that matters. I see a bunch of records, an old, outdated and wasted medium that takes up too much space. I am most happy you have the CD player/streamer. Thanks for letting me know.
@0102studio - it is absolutely not. Records are much older. Bit for bit and cleaner and more dynamic are CDs. The point I made is physical media is not released in mainstream anymore, so most of us stream anyway. But i stopped buying records when tapes, and then CDs came out. No comparison. This is not a debate.

They are rather special. Thanks for watching!

Hahaha! Thanks! I dream of at least one larger room once again! Hopefully sooner than later!
Looks like a great speaker package. Thanks for the review!
Thanks for watching!
No finer way to start the day, then watching one of your excellent reviews.
Thank you Paul!

LOVE my 1723 THX towers. I can't really imagine moving up to anything .. to get more value .. I'd have to spend way more.
Way more. For very little improvement.
Looks and sounds cool. I no longer have my dedicated 7.2 channel home theater setup but I have a pair of 1723 towers and they sound great. Enjoy!
I can’t wait to hear those!

Haha yeah, just a touch!

I’ve seen those and have long wondered what they sounded like. Good to know they work in a smaller space! Fingers crossed I can try them out!

I love my full size arendal monitors, I wish i could hear mcintosh gear on them omg! Or the Evo i bet that would be a amazing experience.
I don’t ever forget how lucky I am. Both were just spectacular.

The short answer is, I finally got ahold of them.
Where is the CD player or transport?
Under the streamer.

@ this is such a silly comment. I haven’t bought a new CD in over a decade. To me, CD is the most outdated format.

@ Again, this is all your own personal perspective, use case and bias.
