The best music for the best Colombo episode

Totally
The scene where she is listening to the tape "you have one minute...". Incredible.
I've always loved the cue where she commits the murder. Amazing. Thank for posting this!
You're welcome Kevin. :-)
Song is so good its haunting. It's genius.
The great Pat Williams who sadly died only a couple of years ago. Trish Van Devere and James McEachin starred.
Usually you're only little concentrated while watching a film, but here you can listen to and rediscover small masterpiece compositions influenced by classical music ... gorgeous support for - in my opinion - the most brilliant tv crime series!!!
Well said.
It's not only the music, but also the way of fliming, and acting ! Love so much the shot when Kay is sit, thinking. We feel all her tension, all the tension,
her emotion, determination...
@5:45 is when the score and tension of the scene collides. Almost chaotic desperation, as the murderer tv producer frantically tries to retrieve her gun(which ended up a plant by police). The tension was palpable, mostly due to this brilliant baroque-esque type music score. A lost art.
I get so frantic watching that scene - I end up on the edge of the couch. Love it so much. This music just makes it. It's perfect.
I've been looking for the music for this episode for years. for listening I have to watch the episode, one of my favorite episodes partly thanks to the music
Me too!
Thank you so very much! In addition to this being one of my favorite episodes, I loved the music! Yet, I could never find it until you uploaded it. Thank you. I hope it stays on RUclips!
Very welcome M. Currently none of the music from the Columbo TV series is copyright protected. But you never know when someone may by the rights to it. You may want to download the ones you like just to be on the safe side. Cheers!
Cette BO est particulièrement réussie, bravo au compositeur.
the music conveys the vulnerability of this murderer so well, I almost feel sorry for her. ALMOST.
You're doing a great job! Thanks a lot!
The variety of the score is something to behold. This is sheer brilliance bc of how it arouses me. It's beautiful, scary, poetic, threatening, cat-n-mouse like and sympathetic. It all adds up to one word. Powerful.
That cue with the constant single-note bed of strings at 3:16 accompanied the scene where she returns to her then-abandoned childhood home, only to be surprised that Columbo was there, set the perfect mood. I remember that very scene and the music's impact to this day, over 40 years since I first watched this episode on TV.
Thank you for all these posts. I have been desperately looking for this music for years. Unable to find studio recordings for marketing. If you had the same thing for Starsky and Hutch it would be great. But what a pleasure to be able to listen to this music. Thanks again.
You're welcome François. Glad I could help.
The most beautiful music !
I agree, this is definitely the best out of all Columbo musicals.
This music perfectly mirrors the murderers inner state.
Powerful score for a perfect show. Columbo is the best written and acted show of all time. There will never be anything like it again.
Until they reboot it and make Columbo black.
Thanks for this. It is so hard to found the melody of the murder. I always hope to find this impossible track.👍❤
You're very welcome. :-)
Samedi 22 octobre 2022 rediffusion de De Colombo Superbe musique Je pense à Jean Sébastien Bach
J'ai cherché aussi un compositeur baroque pour le thème à la flûte traversière, je pensais à une reprise...
It's similar to "Bach passions bwv 244 and 245"
Thank you from France :)
You're welcome from America. À votre santé!
à la votre! thank you so much

You're welcome Bob. I'll be uploading more music from various episodes shortly. :-)
@@fishman3786 would you have the "now you see him... " opening music?
Great Episode
THE BEST FOR THE BEST !!!!!!!!!!!!
Man that music... You can feel the tension rising while the clock is ticking... "You have 3 minutes and 40 seconds... 3 minutes and 30 seconds..."
Even if she just killed someone, you feel stressed for her and hope she makes it in time
Hello @fishman3783, what's the name of the music of the murder ??? Please, the music is wonderful
I extracted this music directly from the movie so there is no track-list . Sorry.
@@fishman3786 ok bro, no problem, 😉
My fave music in the episode is at 2:27.
Hi, am trying to find a clean recording of the Carousel calliope theme from the end of this episode, which doesn't seem to be included here - grateful for any pointers! Thanks
Found it: ruclips.net/video/8iielC2sdjg/видео.html
Music like of Bach...
A golden nugget
Wonderful
👍🙂
can someone identify the name of the music at 3:16 min. I would to know what it's called.
Thanks but there are a lot of cuts in the music theme, is it possible to upload a corrected version please? :(
I had to extract this music directly from the episode. Certain sections of music had to be cut due to either dialogue, loud sound effects , or copyright protection. Sorry.
@@fishman3786 Ok thank you for answering and sharing though
@@fishman3786 Trish "Kay" Van Devere was one of the few murderers of the show I would have been happy to not see her jailed. She's courageous, elegant, smart, and she deserved her job. Great music, for the episoe. One of my two favorites, with the abigail mitchell theme.
is the first one from Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky ?? ? ?can someone find the original ?
