you base this information on what?? experience?? i've done this type of work for 7 years now, for your information, the pump always runs, when the engine is running, including at MAX RPM's, at high speed, the only difference is a magnetic valve, that directs the flow of the oil back to the oil tank, instead of the hook arm or crane. with a hook arm for loading containers, there is practically no risk for the driver, if he knows what he or she is doing, and are looking for the one thing that can go wrong (pulling the container up at an angle) and lastly your statement about loading with a boom is only possible with an empty container: what kind of nonsense is that, if that was the case, nobody would be using a hook arm truck. a standard hook arm can lift 16 TONS minimum, for a standard size truck.
