Find out how many tests you need, the food you eat, when you are allowed your first steps out of your room. Pattaya has a good selection of ASQ Hotels. Making sure you pre plan your room, your meals is vital to making your ASQ in Pattaya as comfortable as possible.

Sounds like hell. Kudos to anyone prepared to go through it. Until quarantine is cancelled completely, you will never see a major uptick in tourist numbers. Even if it is limited to 5 days, I think few people will do it.

I'm going into ALQ tourist prison in Pattaya on March 26.Thank You Trevor that was a great guest.Thaiger News announced that ASQ has been reduced to 7 days, as of 1 April for the fully vaccinated. I am supper happy that my time will be reduced for good behavior and the tourist Warden will let me out on parole to be a bad boy in Pattaya in time for Songkran.

I think it’s important to understand that if you have a mental health problem than it’s probably not the best thing to do is Spend 14 days in self Quarantine, I know for sure it would screw my head up knowing what’s outside and you can’t get out to indulge.
This could impact you deeply , it’s up to you the individuals to decide that ,

I’ve done ASQ
I would recommend the following, Get one of your friends to put these in a bag for you
• Insist on getting a balcony, pay more if you can, well worth it
Metal Knives fork and spoon, the hotel will give you plastic ones.
• Plates and bowls, as the hotel may serve your food in plastic disposable containers, so the food doesn’t taste as nice.
• Small sponge to clean cutlery and plates bowls etc, some washing up liquid
• Use your Smart phone as a 4G hotspot if the hotel WIFI is too slow, get a 2-week Data package I know it costs more but you will thank me later.
• Some plug adapter since you’ve came in from overseas.

I’m in same situation as Mick work wise. ASQ in BKK is quite strict - no Grab food, no booze
Had to endure lots of ASQ in other Asian countries too for work
It’s 16 days, 15 nights in Thailand - 14 full 24 hr days.
They don’t check your bags checking in BTW

I did ASQ from Jan 4 to 19th, just to tell my Grandkids that I was a part of history. It was very easy for me. My hotel was Vertical Suites, outside of BkK. I had a large suite with two bathrooms and a balcony for 60K. I enjoyed the Sunrise everyday and read a ton of books and watch the hardworking Thai people get ready for work and go home. It's not that bad if you like to read and is into RUclips videos and are looking to learn a different language. I would not do it again because they will open up soon. Most like by November, if there are no "Fourth Wave", life will start to return to Normal. The ladies are already saddling up the wagons and heading to Patts and BKK (at least that is what I was told).

60k? Omg that's way too expensive for Thailand. As far as when it's going to be normal it's going to be longer than November. It will be quite different for a few years.

Thanks for the tip on Vertical Suites. Had not considered it before. Sounds like a good possibility. Question: did you know in advance that you wouldn’t be able to get out of the room until day 11 after the second test? Seems longer than a lot other hotels. Also looks like you could only go to the gym and not outdoors. True?
@@Goldfinger555 Yes. But I did not care because my room was big and I had work to do during ASQ. I was very busy. Their bathrooms were having ventilation issue _ that was the only issue.

ASQ is in Bangkok, ALQ is outside of Bangkok.
Welcome to Pattaya Rusty Lid. indeed, Alternative Local State Quarantine (ALQ) is the same type of quarantine as ASQ just quarantine hotels in this list are located outside Bangkok. Hotels in other provinces that previously were in the list of ASQ hotels are now classified as Alternative Local State Quarantine hotels. If you are looking to quarantine in Phuket, Pattaya or any other city/island except of Bangkok, then you need to look for ALQ hotel.

On the Pcr tests , the 1st one shows you can fly , the second one 5 days into quarantine is to ensure you did not pick up covid in the time after 1st test or during flight etc , 3rd is pure precaution

My ASQ room was a decent sized suite with a balcony which cost around 70,000 baht.
Unfortunately the room was on the northside which meant it was rather dark and the balcony view was of a Bangkok expressway and a cement plant. Never the less, the balcony was a life saver and I think I'd have gone loopy in a place without one.
This guy is lucky to have had a place with OK food. My one was pretty awful.
The microwave was useful for re-heating the cold food but it didn't make it taste much better.
ASQ hotel food has given me a much improved opinion of airline food.
Yes it was that bad. I love Thai food and opted for it for most meals (not breakfast) with the thought that they must do Thai food to a reasonable standard but I was wrong.
I've been back in the UK 3 weeks now.
If this situation was to continue for another year I would consider doing it again because It gets me away from the miserable UK winter (and I'm besotted with my Thai GF!), but I'd do lots differently including the ASQ hotel.
I should add that the ASQ hotel staff were all very helpful.

I took some exercise bands and work on computer in morning.in the afternoon the sun came round on the balcony so I would sit out there for the afternoon.
I never went outs6the room for the whole time apart for covid tests

Spent 4 years in Dartmoor 15 days is a shit and a shave my wife’s just done loved it didn’t mind at all royal Bangkok hotel fed her three times a day she’s back in the village now

I flew from UK staying asq in silom area Bangkok, I finish my hotel on Tuesday 9th, but because come from UK they was told not to clean room even after 1st covid test, and they only do a nostril swab, got 2nd test today, when I check out I get the bus 6 hours up to home near chaiyaphum,isaan

I did ASQ in Pattaya and it was ok, I had a mate go thru it in China and did 4 weeks, the last 2 with no choice of meals.

Graceland Bangkok Hotel Soi 5 Sukhumvit road, no English TV, British people are not allowed to leave the room for the whole duration of the 15 day stay in the ASQ.
British people are not allowed to use the laundry system.
The food was basic street food.
Avoid this ASQ Hotel.

it's a dive and in a crap area, I use to cut through there running sometimes and it just felt dirty and dogey not by the Thai but others.....
In the 3rd quarter of this year Thailand is going to offer vaccinated foreign tourists entry without quarantine. I have been waiting to come back to Thailand for 11 months. I will wait a little longer.

Great video, and why no normal tourist will be rushing to Thailand until quarantine is gone......not even if reduced to 6 days. This applies to every country around the world not just Thailand.

I don't know how these people manage to tolerate the ASQ. Might as well stay at home until it's over before travel. The prices are far too expensive too.

I would do it to see my family without hesitation
I got stuck in Angola for 7 months. Home for 6 weeks and back to Angola for 3 months. I have done 5 quarantines in Angola and two in Thailand. Just remember bring a big carry out.

Just sounds like its to much drama ,wouldn't want to go through that for anything. Mickeys a trooper, love coming to pattaya but the reality of things in the UK it's not looking like it's going to happen an till early 2022 and with the Thai government not coming up with any soild plan of reopening.
