I’ve just upgraded 4 x 200D’s to 200E’s for not much more than the maintenance would have cost 👌🏻 Happy days

Glad you're back and doing better. Great content! Wish Fortinet had a competitor displacement discount as well as the trade-up program. I need to upgrade my D model FortiGates. But there doesn't seem to be a F replacement for the 500's or 300's. Although, the 200F models seem to blow the 300D out of the water and it's a little faster than the 500D model. Considering I want to move my East-West traffic routing from the L3 switch to the Firewall, I worry if the 200F can handle it. I'm probably over thinking it.

I will have some VXLan videos in route soon. I had some real world use-cases (for the first time ever surprisingly) so I will have some videos soon for it.

Got a used 60E for studying and was going to add 1 year forticare but the total was near what a 60F NFR was. Now I have both until I'm done with my test then I'll get rid of the 60E.

if we want to add some additional future, such as xdr, does trade up program counts? Or just for switching gear

Thanks. Is it possible to do a trade from 100E to 200F?

FYI, Corporate Armor said Fortinet wouldn’t allow us to trade up to a 60F because our 60E was out of support contract.

Hey I've learn a lot about fortigate because of your channel, I searched but couldn't find anything about setting up vpns with XML config, could you make a video about it?

    Hi,
id´d like to enable an mail-alert on a fortigate 100f, when a selected policy matches.
i´m unable to create an automation stitch in the fortigate with the log-id for policy matches.
I´m not using fortianalyzer, etc. Could you please reply?
    Best regards!

You are probably going to have to rely on a third party logging solution (Splunk, LogRythym, etc) or a FortiAnalyzer to accomplish that if the automation stitch doesn't give you the capability you desire.

I have a question concerning models, etc.. selection not tradeup.. I recently met with Fortinet Sales and Engineers to select firewalls. They sized me at a 900D. Later I was speaking with another person and they questioned why a 900D vs a 600E. I don't have a requirement for the extra throughput and my goal is for the longest efficiently sized solution. My remote location will have a 200E with a tunnel between sites. I'm new to Fortinet so I purchased a 51E for my training aid.

If the firewall is an edge device passing traffic north and south I size the FortiGate based on the upstream and downstream connections. If I have 1GIG internet then something that supports more than 1 gig of NGFW throughput is kind of a waste (unless I need something else like more concurrent SSLVPN connections or higher sessions).
Otherwise, if the device is doing all directions (North, South, East, and West) I size based on the estimated bandwidth that will be going through the box that needs to be inspected by layer 7 feature sets.

I have a 60E that was received as a gift during a Fortinet event. The licensing has expired. What is the most fundamental, basic licensing level that I should look into buying to protect traffic and protect a home network? No IPsec/SSL-VPN, no SD-WAN, etc. just security. Thanks!

I have been trying for about 8 months to get Fortinet to honor a TradeUp for my old Fortigate. My support portal allowed me to select my old model for TradeUp, but nothing came of it. I have called Fortinet, and emailed support, and they passed me on to Sales. Then, I contacted the 5 sales people I was forwarded to directly. None of them even answered my email. What a lousy company. The problem is apparently that I live in Puerto Rico, which is part of the US, but gets "special" treatment by Fortinet.
