@@Kevin-bq8cq Demidov didn't know a single word of English a year ago. Understanding, speaking and writing a new language takes time, it's not going to be perfect in 1 year. I could see you learning a new language and mastering it in just 1 year especially when you're European. You should be congratulating him instead of making fun of his accent, he had the courage to speak on his own in front of the cameras, many other Russians wouldn't do that. For example, last year Michkov didn't know a word of English and had a translator with him all the time. His English will improve over time, that's for sure, so there's no need to criticize him for that.

Vous n'avez pas vu la série du siècle, de toute évidence. Les joueurs canadiens ont pu s'en tirer avec les "honneurs" en grande partie grâce au gracieux Bobby Clarke. Un as du bâton, surtout quand il a détruit la cheville de Kharlamov d'un coup salaud.

I would have been happy with Tij Iginla. We are taking a risk on this player who has not had the opportunity to play in front of NHL scouts. That being said, I have faith that Hughes and Gorton know what they are doing.

I also really like Tij. However, in regards to Demidov, we do have good intellect on him. Babrov, the head of our scouts department, worked for SKA St. Petersburg and most likely has connections in Russia other NHL teams might lack. Odds are the Habs probably had a little more info on him then some of the other teams did. It was definitely a great pick.
