EVOKE IS AN ABILITY THAT WOULD GO AWAY IF THAT CREATURE LOST ALL ITS ABILITIES, even after the evoke cost was paid. aka endurance should not be sacrificed. I was wrong
It’s ok Dylan I think a lot of us would have thought you were correct at the moment, thanks for going the extra step and pointing out misplays though it’s very helpful. We all make misplays especially on spelltable 💕.
You wouldn't sac an evoked creature with Dress Down in play; that sacrifice is not tied to the cast, it's a separate ability that says "When this permanent enters the battlefield, if its evoke cost was paid, its controller sacrifices it.” and with DD in play that ability doesn't exist.
@@ChildrenOfOwls if dress down is in play ragavan would lose the haste from the dash but would go back to hand at the end of turn because its a delayed trigger from the dash cost
That three-turn fish avoidance was just hilarious, although I do wonder why Dylan didn't play that Mana Crypt on turn 4. He had 4 lands and could've paid for the fish.
As stated by another comment, Evokes are ETB triggers so you can do some cheeky things with evoke costs. For example, phasing it out will prevent it from getting sacced. I think flicker effects can also work because it would be treated as a new instance of the card.
Boys are back with the "meat grinder" decks. Love the content guys! Keep up the amazing work! Also, the podcast episodes recently have been *Chef's Kiss* perfect.
I'm actually impressed that ya'll let the fish starve. That's how the first few rounds *should look* when players around the table are responsible. There is no need to rush a boardstate if no one is rushing a boardstate.
Still making my way through, but at 3:35 Dylan doesn't actually pay any blue mana to cast Kraum! The Underground Sea doesn't get used in the rest of the turn cycle, but it allowed Dylan to hold up a blue and threaten interaction
Cam could have cast Noxious Revival targeting Fierce Guardianship then activate Thrasios, drawing Fierce to counter the Dress Down instead of blind activating Thras again
THIS is WHY we DO NOT FEED THE FISH. Nate was effectively *out of the game* after paying *6 mana* for literally no benefit. The other players still managed to establish their board (with creatures), and set Nate back so badly. Always pay your taxes people.
Should just call this game the Tony Allen of pods, the absolute Grindfather of gameplay on the channel. What a game to watch, I think I’d have an aneurysm if I had to play through it so I applaud y’all for not only playing it but editing it for the channel 😂
I've never seen this table not feed the fish that much. Well done, everyone. Really interesting to see that level of political interaction. Love the content.
Love these 4c piles! I know you said you got greedy with the intuition, but if you hadn't cast it would it have changed anything? Seemed like the winner "had it" regardless.
Fun fact, if Dylan would mystical, Nate would oppo and Dylan would cast vamp afterwards, he would do vamp tutor, oppo resolves, mystical resolves and he shuffles his library after his opponent finding whatever he wants with mystical.
I have recently been playing with savage summoming in thrasios tymna and while it seems like a dead card most times, the amount of times an uncounterable thoracle or even flashing in a phantasmal image on somsone else's thoracle hits to win under someone is much worth the slot in my 99. Not sure how you guys feel about it, curious what tyler thinks of savage summoning. Edit: ALSO! Tyler, you played a three color deck, I did not see a lick of red come from that deck of yours :P Well done on the win, really showing off your table top politic skills this game
I know 4 to 5 color command(s) are the meta in cEDH but I’m curious to know cam Dylan and Tylers opinion on single color commanders and do you think the OG Azami Lady of scrolls have a chance in this meta asking because I just build my first high power deck and she’s the way I went although I’m just collecting all the colors for blue farm as I watch and get better because of you guys thanks. Any and everyone please answer if you can 😂
Hi guys. I have a question because I don't understand cEDH that much. Dylan played Final Fortune and his plan was to win next turn. He played Intuition. If there weren't any answers what was Dylan's plan? Cameron had Ranger Captain on the board that he would probably crack during Dylan's next upkeep.
At 10:58 I wonder why didn’t Cam when he got the Revival off of Thrasios why didn’t he pay two life and put that Fierce Guardianship back on top and then draw the Fierce Guardianship to counter the Dress down?
I was so ready for Cam to have Swift Recon in his hand at the start and to see him play it as soon as the fish died like "OK SO BOOM INFINITE MANA INTO THRASIOS INTO EMERGENCE ZONE GG THX BYE" But no.
Im not sure if this has been said, but couldn’t Tyler have won at 6 minutes by casting thoracle, then responding with divining witch naming something not in his deck?
I'm sorry but I have to talk about the audio change. I'm watching this at midnight alone in my house on my TV and it scared the absolute shit out of me.
Hear me out, color fixing takes effort and time so having 4 decks getting stable feels like they all do the same until that explosive turn. Being a Dihada main the struggle of having a smoother mana base vs "good stuff" is always a struggle It would be cool to have the Decks being 2 Colors vs 4 Color Can a 4 color deck keep up with faster and easier style decks....like honestly fuck Simic 😅 having to keep up with Nadu/Kinnen is the breaking point of a good "deck" to me Idk best 2 colors vs 3 colors and so on can be interesting
It was only a time walk for the owner of Fish. The other 3 players were able to somewhat advance their boardstate while Nate put 100% of his mana into his fish for 0 cards. Was a great play for the board over all, usually you should only feed the fish if you think YOU can get gain more advantage from it than the others.
winning on turn 9 though. I feel this is an example of why you should just play a deck with aggressive attackers and interaction. My Adeline deck doesnt need 9 turns to kill everyone
idk where else to ask this sorry, i built the bloodpod deck from the video on this channel to start up with cedh and played a few games but the impression i got from a few people is that the deck is bad/too slow - is it very outdated now?
It is still VERY powerful in the right pilots hands, but it certainly has fallen out of favor recently due to winota doing a similar thing and doing it arguably better. Or at least has a higher ceiling for explosively
@@PlaytoWinMTG thanks! I was sneakily considering winota tbh, i tend not to like super fast turbo decks atm i think its cos im not experienced enough with the format to know when i can go for it yet
Shouldn't Nate have just cast the Oppo in response to the mystical tutor, since after the vampiric tutor found a card, mystic would resolve and shuffle the library anyways
Really enjoy the channel but would like to see more general gameplay rather than specific four colour only, just my personal feedback! Still quality content.
EVOKE IS AN ABILITY THAT WOULD GO AWAY IF THAT CREATURE LOST ALL ITS ABILITIES, even after the evoke cost was paid. aka endurance should not be sacrificed. I was wrong
Also no drawing with kraum at 11:55
Magic is DEFINITELY complicated lololol I think its great you can point out your mistakes directly though, respect
@@Ulim151 kraum was a vehicle at that time so the draw is fine, due to the swift reconfiguration on it
It’s ok Dylan I think a lot of us would have thought you were correct at the moment, thanks for going the extra step and pointing out misplays though it’s very helpful. We all make misplays especially on spelltable 💕.
.pointing out the misplays help us all.be better players
Giving a "like" for the responsible handling of fish. Well done!
love how you guys respected the fish so much but then went nuts not paying for Rhystic / Sentinel hahaha
great game
how can one youtube channel has such a great audio quality that never fails?! I'm so impressed by you guys 😄 much love from Austria!

Thanks for catching that! Should have double checked
@@PlaytoWinMTG is the same true with Ragavan Dash?
@@ChildrenOfOwls if dress down is in play ragavan would lose the haste from the dash but would go back to hand at the end of turn because its a delayed trigger from the dash cost
3:28 "everything's a drum" you ain't slippin that past me lol.
Stoked someone noticed lol. We were all sayin it for a minute in another game from that session but I don't think the audio made the cut
“this is hilarious. this is the bait tutor that is going to immediately be followed by vampiric tutor.”
“shut the fuck up cameron.”
i lost it lol
This is how you treat Fish on the play. Very impressive!
Thanks Ken!

Yep, flickering the permanent works just fine.
Cameron - "This hand is full of farts!" I didn't think I could love him more.
One of the best games I have seen on this channel... Ever! So much fun to watch. So very interactive. Great fun, thx guys!
Was it just me or did the audio quality drop for a bit in the middle?
Just kidding! Awesome game as always my guys, 10/10 responsible fish plays 👌🏽
Woah woah woah. Was that an Aunty Donna's reference in response to the spring leaf drum?!? A man of culture I see
Y'all are so fun! My new favorite MTG channel!
Although spicy cEDH brews are fun to watch go off, this is what cEDH is really like and I love it! Great videos fellas!

Fantastic game & Cameron's realization that he could have tried for the win earlier was a funny twist, heh
Just love this kinda gameplay
I’m glad!
Shoutout to Tyler for the W! E Zone stays relevant!
End credits name singing should just be a thing now. 💯
E zone has a promenant land slot in my cEDH deck....and several casual decks
One of the best videos, not having ad nause resolve in the pod makes really interesting games to watch. keep up the non ad nause videos

Swift reconfiguration counts for dockside but because of it Kraum is also an artifact so dockside makes an extra treasure (about 16:04 in)

I am so proud. Seeing the entire table not play a single noncreature spell for 3 turns! Ensuring the most useless fish ever..I'm beyond proud.
Or the most useful fish if you look at it that way
Tyler rocks! Have you ever considered making a best enchantress deck in cEDH?
I've never seen this table not feed the fish that much. Well done, everyone. Really interesting to see that level of political interaction. Love the content.

older video to be leaving a comment on but felt obligated to like/comment for the fish responsibility, I typically don't bother but this deserves it
Great video! Tyler always put out so much regular pressure with so little
Probably one of the best games you guys have done so far! Great game guys!!

very put together "begin" 👌

Yea but there’s like other stuff in my hand and other things going on besides only exactly those things right?
12:17 why aren’t we talking about how crazy this sandbagging was by Tyler because he knew cam would interact
This game was so great to watch, thanks guy.
omg guys did anyone else notice the change in audio quality part way through? That was super weird; I feel like we should all talk about that.

Just regular cast thoracle with very few cards in my library and several blue pips on bird
The best part of Sunday ❤️🔥
Eldritch sacrificing bruse lets Cam get Emiel for the win there I think. At least gives him more options while he’s searching. Another great vid.
What a sick win!
Animating sphinx over vilis probably would have won nate the game imo given that thrasios draws and the rhystic on field... Nonetheless awesome games!

My food chain can hit on turn 4 pretty easily..... It can swiftly pivot from a life drain....to non deterministic win with a thorical/tp combo win
That was glorious 😂😂😂

Would Dress Down take away Kraum's card draw ability? 11:59
Nope cause it wasn’t a creature at that time
Ok Mystic Tutor into Vamp tutor still wrecks the Vamp. Like Mystic -> Oppo -Vamp put the card on top, then Mystic resolves and wrecks everything.
Yes you are correct technically but I have a ton of draw engines in play and a hand full of spells so there are ways I can make it work
When dress down was on field, wouldn't kraums ability not work?
Kraum was turned into a vehicle !
