I met the owner of the store during a Cobain trip. He was very nice to me, and he gave me a needle to pin my country on a huge map. People from all over the world have been to his store! Did not know he was a Vietnam veteran. Nice guy, and good job there!

I agree and posted a comment stating that calling a Vietnam Vet an embarrassment to the community. I copped some backlash, even after stating that my father's family, including myself are combat veterans, including Nam. Non military personnel will never understand the effects each individual may experience after a deployment to an area of operations. We all deal with PTSD differently, Aussie's like myself tend to stow it away.

Transgenders deserve no more than observing their basic human rights. They use people's kindness against them. Respect is key. I advocate respect for gay and lesbian people. They have, overall, been respectful to others, often giving more respect than they receive. I will do my best to return that respect. Judging on an individual basis, I am comfortable with gays and lesbian people around children, as long as they completely respect the parents.
Respect is key and respect is love and respect is best taught by example. A lesson I learned from my USMC Father.

Did anyone ask about the veteran’s feelings, when they shipped him off to Vietnam? Eighteen year olds were drafted to fight and die in a bloody war. So many came home without legs and/or arms, permanently brain damaged, with PTSD, and some did not come home at all.

Some of the Vietnam vets (sort of) volunteered. My father had a low draft number, 39 or something low, and decided it's better to volunteer instead of get drafted. Usually all of the numbers below 110 got drafted each year.
