This game doesn't teach you basics to actually play your own thing "right". Like you'll see the frets but you won't learn the notes or any theory or time signatures or just anything that can help you make a song your own. It's neat though to learn some songs but other than that it won't beat a real teacher

I still can't wrap my head around the notation. This game is on sale on Steam right now. Is it worth it? I'm used to just practicing songs off standard guitar tab. I learned many Dave Matthews Band songs this way. Would Rocksmith help at all?
You may have a slight adjustment period but if you are willing to take the time to adapt it's quite rewarding. You can flip the notation in the game so it's inverted like Tablature.
I just bought it on steam, I dont like how cables are impossible to find on canada and you have to pay 42$ for it, but I know its gonna be worth it because I used to play guitar and I know my way around the bass, I am pretty much gonna use it to replay guitar and learn new songs on bass.

Many of them have been taken down, many people lost their RUclips channels from strikes from Hendrix, Axl Rose, ZZ Top, and Eagles.
