Today we walked around the Muslim town of Quiapo its a side of the Philippines you rarely see most know the Philippines as a Catholic county but there is quite a big Muslim population also. Here we experience the culture and check out the local Muslim town area eat halal food and visit the local mosque

Since my wife is from Sampaloc we walked the Quiapo area many, many times getting fresh veggies for the day's lunch at her Mom's or quail eggs another fav of mine.
What a bonus, back to back videos! A great way to start my day. I like the way you two try different foods and at times not knowing what it is. I loved to do that when I traveled myself.
The title on this vlog is certainly accurate. Very few vloggers - incl. the Filipino vloggers - show this side of Manila & the Philippines. Thanks for exploring and sharing with us. :)
Also, showing the proper respect, when visiting someone else's neighborhood is nice to see, and speaks very well of both of you. Far too many tourists & expats forget that they are just guests, and behave poorly, esp. when vlogging.

The university belt is close to the quaipo church, that's where I used to go to church when I was a college student during the 70s.

Thanks for sharing. I have been to Philippines several times and was not aware of the Muslim Quarter in Manila. Lay looks lovely in the hijab (ma shaa Allah) - often stated when you see something pleasing- means all praise to God. Food looks delicious considering price. Unfortunately; we spent 5* restaurant price for chicken biryani and it was awful. So thanks for sharing, deffo save us the heart ache. Huge foodies so will be heading here for local halal food. Looking forward to more great content 😊

Tom and Lay, you guys need to travel out of the city more. The video of you guys island hopping was great. Maybe rent a scooter for a month and take off. Just a thought. I really like the green forests and blue water beaches. The cities are too noisy and crowded. Have fun!

You should have walked way to ayala bridge so u got the way to malacanang palace.. From quiapo u can go to BINONDO and divisoria. At BINONDO there is the new Jones bridge that is nice to visit at night. Hope u can visit Mehan garden which is near sm city Manila. There's the kapehan where u can have coffee.. From there u can ride or walk going to Luneta park (grandstand) and (if u are not yet tired) walk all the way to MOA. U can see beautiful Manila bay during sunset.. 😊 Enjoy and keepsafe to u both ❤

Quiapo is OLD MANILA and many Filipinos who visit Manila don't go there because it's ugly and chaotic 😊 The real Manila is WAY BETTER than that.

i date a Muslim girl from Cebu i wasn't allowed to have sex without becoming Muslim never was allowed to drink alcohol wouldn't let me eat pork so i run faraway to many silly rules on ones life
