      I've seen Leo's entire catalog several times over. The fact that he won the Oscar, for hands down his worst performance, bothers me so much. Truly does. People say the movie was good, im like, yeah, sure, he's never been in a bad movie, BUT compared to all his other work, it's the worst of his work by a mile. Leo wasn't gonna win any wards for this one as waltz having considerably more screen time and also having a hell of a performance, plus literally every other character in the film was spot on down to candy's accountant.

      @KF22TV 5 лет назад +12

      neon no, nor was I implying that in my opinion. As I am comfortable (still learning new things daily) in the entertainment industry myself, I’ve seen many incidents where actors may not like or wasn’t comfortable with the role itself but they make it work. DiCaprio stated that he was not comfortable playing the specific character at first, did he make it work? Most definitely, anything beyond this though in regards to how he felt with the roll I’m not too sure about( if he eventually got comfortable with it)

    • @KF22TV
      @KF22TV 5 лет назад +6

      neon I do understand what your saying, I was only making a point that I recalled DiCaprio speaking on the role in an interview & him saying at first I wasn’t too comfortable with it. Yeah of course he may have been willing to do it, but making those adjustments to get in character etc. may have been difficult for him is what I’m saying (going from the interview) . Regardless he did an exceptional Job like always. No issues with me on the film.

    The acting in this scene is even more exceptional considering that Di caprio didn't mean to cut his hand, but when he realised he was bleeding he just went with it and Tarrentino decided to keep the scene because it worked so well.
    That piece of glass he pulls out of his finger at the end is really a piece of glass that was in his finger.

    • @TheHarboe
      @TheHarboe 7 лет назад +716

      Partially false and true. He did cut his hands and they did decide to keep the scene, however, between cuts Leo did get his hand fixed. Leo's hand is fixed in the cuts after Broomhilda enters the scene and does not have any (real) glass in his hand or finger.

      harleydontplay It's fake blood. The take ends after he says "bring out hildy". You can see a different between the blood before and after that cut if you look carefully at his hand. The (real) blood has run down Leos fingers before Broomhilda enters the scene. After she enters there is no (fake) blood on his fingers.

Hell, if I am not wrong, actors in Stanley Kubrick's films underwent way more agony to give their career-best performance. While I appreciate Leonardo's dedication, nothing to go gaga about. I would say, even Samuel L. Jackson did an exceptional job with his character. When Django blows him up in the end, you are actually happy to see him get blown to teeny bits and roasted in fire at the same time. Throughout the movie you grow to dislike his character, and think that he could undermine his own people just to get something else for himself. He was greedy and didn't care if another black person was hurt if it meant he wouldn't get treated like he did by Calvin. His role was just as chilling as Leo's. I agree that Leo really outdid himself in this film. He and Samuel were as bad as you could imagine, and then would surprise you more with their self serving behavior. Fine piece of work for them both.
