I'm from Voula but I love Athens downtown....it's one of the best feelings to sit in the late afternoon under a shade at Monastiraki, crack open a cold beer, watch the tourists pass by, listen to the sizzling sound of the souvlas from the souvlatzidika, spreading that unmistakable aroma combo of meat, onion and fries, the Acropolis dotted with tiny ant-like tourists up on the hill and people taking pictures. I love that.
