Sistem lama itu buat dapat 1 poin tidak mudah Bayangin kalau nonton Thomas Cup 1 partai ngabisin 2 jam krn sama kuat, untuk 5 partai berarti 10 jam. Saya ga pernah meragukan Taufik Ketika dia bermain untuk Negara seperti Seagames, Asean games, atau Olimpiade. Pasti selalu mati-matian memberikan yang terbaik Beda cerita kalau mainnya untuk gelar individu, apalagi gelar yg sudah pernah dirasain. Kayaknya tergantung moodnya taufik deh mau menanag atau nggak.
Cuma yg agak mengecewakan adalah di Olimpiade Sidney 2000, Taufik bertanding sebagai pemain ranking 1 dunia dan unggulan 1 tapi dia kalah kalau tdk salah di 8 besar, sangat byk yg kecewa karena byk yg menganggap Taufik tdk fokus karena waktunya terganggu dgn urusan pacaran dgn artis Nola AB Three, untungnya di olimpiade Athena 2004 Taufik bisa meraih emas

Since there are a lot of talks and comments in response to Taufik’s comments about Lee’s Hall of Fame induction. Lee was a great and talented player but so was Taufik. Lee got beaten by Lin a lot in big tournaments and got beaten by Taufik too. So Taufik’s comments have some points.

If standard equal the scores would normally be 21-19 or 22-20 no matter who was leading because pressure came from both side. LCW can't cope because he was incomplete - tactically, and hence skills (the way he trained).

It's like watching Neymar against Ronaldo in football. One is natural talented player and the other one is hardworking trained player. Neymar (Taufik) could be at the same lavel as Ronaldo (Lee Chong Wei) and Messi (Lin Dan) if he's not distracted and consistent.

LCW is a true fighter. His effort, speed and commitment made him a formidable opponent to everyone. Can i just say although LCW was not at his peak, which I put between 2008-2014, he was unbelievably fast in defence in 2006, maybe more so than when he matured.
In our country, Indonesia, Taufik is a legend and he has a similar position with our other famous legends which i believe still hold a lot of unbreakable records like Rudy Hartono, Liem Swe King, Sugiarto, Joko Suprianto, Lius Pongoh, Ardy, Herianto, Alan. Taufik is a perfect player, he has Olympic, ASEAN Games, Sea games, World Champion and alot of world series title. In that sense, he Can only be compared with Lin Dan and Chen Long and not with Lee Chong Wei although he is a great player as well.
1 reason in my opinion why Taufik cant keep up with Lin Dan & Lcw until his retirement. Taufik not fast as his prime & he use slow pace while Ld & Lcw fast in court. I believe if Taufik keep motivate after his injury & play more fast than his prime, he can keep up with Ld & Lcw & maybe Ld will gettin hard to beat Taufik.
He definitely can keep up with LD and LCW. Just that he didn’t spend as much time to train as the other two. He loves soccer more than badminton! During Canada Open years ago that’s held in Vancouver, I went to watch and he lost to an Australia guy. I found out that he lost because he went drinking the night before. That wouldn’t be allowed in Chinese team nor Malaysian team. That makes a huge difference!!!

If standard equal the scores would normally be 21-19 or 22-20 no matter who was leading because pressure came from both side. LCW can't cope because he was incomplete - tactically, and hence skills (the way he trained).

It's like watching Neymar against Ronaldo in football. One is natural talented player and the other one is hardworking trained player. Neymar (Taufik) could be at the same lavel as Ronaldo (Lee Chong Wei) and Messi (Lin Dan) if he's not distracted and consistent.

Taufik was arguably, the most naturally talented player I have ever seen on a court: from his movement to his shot play (smashes, net tumbles and, of course, that absolute weapon of a backhand), I think the sport will struggle to find another player of his exceptional ability. LCW is a true fighter. His effort, speed and commitment made him a formidable opponent to everyone. Their styles were quite different but it is possible to respect both the qualities and success they each brought to the sport.

In our country, Indonesia, Taufik is a legend and he has a similar position with our other famous legends which i believe still hold a lot of unbreakable records like Rudy Hartono, Liem Swe King, Sugiarto, Joko Suprianto, Lius Pongoh, Ardy, Herianto, Alan. Taufik is a perfect player, he has Olympic, ASEAN Games, Sea games, World Champion and alot of world series title. In that sense, he Can only be compared with Lin Dan and Chen Long and not with Lee Chong Wei although he is a great player as well.
I think prime LCW is slightly stronger than prime Taufik. Prime LCW is +30% more powerful than 2006
1 reason in my opinion why Taufik cant keep up with Lin Dan & Lcw until his retirement. Taufik not fast as his prime & he use slow pace while Ld & Lcw fast in court. I believe if Taufik keep motivate after his injury & play more fast than his prime, he can keep up with Ld & Lcw & maybe Ld will gettin hard to beat Taufik.
He definitely can keep up with LD and LCW. Just that he didn’t spend as much time to train as the other two. He loves soccer more than badminton! During Canada Open years ago that’s held in Vancouver, I went to watch and he lost to an Australia guy. I found out that he lost because he went drinking the night before. That wouldn’t be allowed in Chinese team nor Malaysian team. That makes a huge difference!!!
