I was present at Home Free last Europe concert in Prague. And everytime Tim hited the low notes, you could feel that everything in your body is shaking. It is something you must hear LIVE, no listening from cd/mp3 can´t prepare you for this experience. The vibrations from Tim´s voice are something unbelievable.
Congratulations to another fantastic reaction! It’s so interesting to hear your thoughts and to see you absorb the harmonies and those high and low (crazy low) notes. Peter is so talented and of course I adore Tim’s bass. Thanks 🙏
I loved your reaction to that ridiculously low note, it's pretty incredible. I seen Tim say he prefers collaboration to competition - by all accounts he's a very well-respected bass singer among his peers, not just among Home Fries - but he's about supporting and encouraging other singers, not beating them to the lowest note. (Both Avi Kaplan and Geoff from VoicePlay have talked about the way he's helped them with their technique.) In the end at this level, I think it's as much about personal preference of tone or style than it is that one is better than the other. And if you want the ultimate in bass vibration, there's the concert where Austin decides to sit on the bass speaker - ruclips.net/video/2eyBrIKfpco/видео.html
All of the deep notes are by Tim. Wasn't that like magic? These two can harmonize so well. This song always calms and puts me into a trance like state. Thank you, loved your reaction!
Loved the comment “our own Tim Foust”. You have become a true Home Fry. For something different check out Sam Robson’s Circle of Life. He has quite a few videos but this is my favorite.
Peter Hollens is amazing. You’re hearing about 120 tracks layered together. Peter is phenomenal and himself has and incredible range and vocal ability. He’ll do all kinds of music and collaborations. Love these guys. Some of the best musicians in the world, IMO.
lol . . . this song is why I made the comment about Peter and 'vocal prowess.' His is top-notch. He's not as naturally high as Austin, but his command of head-voice/falsetto is ridiculous. Then he adds a quality baritone range on top of that He covers this entire song himself (outside of Tim's last ridiculous growl). Anyway, lot of great groups and singers. I'm a huge fan of Peter, PTX, Home Free, VoicePlay and Voctave as well. Love seeing your reactions to all of the above.
Try listening to Avi Kaplan "Change on the Rise" it is great! Sending you smiles, laughs, and love Qofy. I'll be there for communion on Sunday LOL🙏🤣😇😁🤣🙏
Definitely need to check out Avi's solo stuff! I was so upset when he left PTX, but it was the right thing for him, and he's been producing some amazing stuff ever since.
@Catherine Vincent They have a lot of funny captions, little easter eggs on a lot of their videos, like their cover of Just Sing, which I highly recommend
They knocked this one out of the park. It makes you wonder what they could do with a lot more songs from the Hobbit/the Lord of the Rings. Peter did an amazing piece with his lovely wife that blows me away. I keep suggesting it to reactors, but no takers yet. World of Warcraft Medley. Just the two of them, just the music. He "sings" quite a few game theme songs and they are all really good. You think the games are playing, not someone singing them As for VoicePlay, I love their Road Trip and Just Sing. Straight No Chaser's Christmas Can Can, 12 Days of Christmas, All about That Bass (No Tenors) and Thriller/Uptown Funk are my favorites from that bunch of fellows. Thank you! ^_^
Great reaction! Peter and Tim are amazing together! But that last bass note rattles your insides. Kind of a haunting isn't it? Keep up the fantastic reactions! Stay safe and healthy, and have a blessed day!
I just got the ability to write my reactions recently so I was looking back at this and LOVED your reaction! So spot on. Tim....DAMN! Yeah, Peter loves to layer voices. Remarkable work really.
Peter Hollens is pretty good on his own tii, with a wide range of songs/styles. An entire album of Lord of the Rings & The Hobbit, Disney, folk songs, The Greatest Showman. And so much more inbetween. Home Free, Peter Hollens and his wife Evynne are my go to these days.
It's a Christmas song, but another fabulous Tim Foust feature is the Hound and the Fox's "We Three Kings." Their voices are amazing and Tim flexes his tenor as well as bass notes.
I have heard tim storms singing and tim foust singing and yeah the lowest bass notes are impossible to compare but Foust's singing voice itself though is so much better. If you love the bass notes it is interesting to watch those bass battle vidoes with Avi, Tim & Geoff from Voiceplay who you also should check out.
As always, I loved your reaction to this! Your analysis of the song is always great to see! This is my favorite collaboration between Peter Hollens and Tim Foust, though all of them are amazing. Peter is a fantastic singer and his voice goes well with Tim's. Tim has been known to blow speakers, there's a concert version of "Your Man" by Home Free where he does.... XD Ring of Fire is the only collaboration that Home Free has with Avi, and it was my introduction to HF. Thanks for sharing!! :D
Yes, Peter is an absolute master of layering different parts together, it must take ages, there’s sometimes 100 parts!! So this is from The Hobbit, another song from The Hobbit that Peter has done is the Hobbit Drinking Medley ft Hank Green (which is rather random if you have never fully checked out Hank Green before). But it’s a great video!
QoFyReacts good eyes noticing the camera shaking, it took me bloody ages to get that! I think I was just so blown away (still am) by King Tim with his Very Deep Voice that I ignored the visuals
I subscribed bcz watching your videos this morning just made my day so much better after a long night at work keep doing what you’re doing my guy and good luck
I loved your reaction! Misty Mountains is the title track to a CD by Peter did of The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings. I have been to a HF concert and it was amazing. I could feel the bass notes in my heart, the floor and the air. There is another song that Peter sings Mary, Did You Know. You can see how Peter layers his songs. HF sings a song Your Man featuring Tim. The song Your Man featuring Tim has 2 versions the this song, The "official" and a live version. The live version at the Morrison, Illinois concert is the funniest of the live concerts.
I loved your reaction at the end of the song where you weren't sure if you wanted to take your headphones off or not, really made me laugh. The dissonant chords are definitely amazing, thank you for pointing them out!
It is not just how low they can sing but remember Avi is at 31, 9 or 10 years younger than both Tim and Geoff so his voice has not yet fully matured to the level theirs have. There was a funny reaction from Avi on one of their PTX on tour experience releases. Tim Storm actually came to one of their concerts and came back stage to meet Avi just before the show who was then nervous with singing the bass line in front of Tim 🙂
WHAT????? What?????? No one is ready for this. Tim just kills everything he does. He has a 6 octave range now. Just stupid amazing. Check out Greensleeves by these two talents. It is sublime.
Peter is most known for being a "one-man choir" with a nerdy flavor. I love his music as much as I love Home Free, and actually discovered him when he did 19 You + Me with HF. In this one, Tim adds a few of the deeper layers, but if you want a good example of both men just going nuts with range, you should check out Greensleeves or Bridge Over Troubled Waters.
You really need to see Tim live. He shakes the rafters & you can feel it run thru every fiber of your body! What a ride!! 😉 Cool reaction! I think you're the only one that noticed Peter's crazy high note. I asked him if that was really him & he said, yep! It's a beautiful arrangement. All of Peter's arrangements are good. He's got a great voice & these 2 sound great together. I like Tim's bass best of all of the basses becuz it's smooth. The others tend to get too harsh. With that said, they're all too different to compare & all are good in their own way. Don't forget "Sound of Silence"!!
This song if from "Middle Earth" it was used in "The Hobbit" which came after the Lord of the Rings. They're doing their own harmonies on top of themselves, there are no back up singers. As for the note Tium hit at the end was close to an A0 but not quite, it's in the range of G#1 and G3. Now I believe he hit an A0 in Do You Hear What I Hear in harmony, it's one of the deepest notes when I remeber the man who could do it without trying hard at all, I'll post his name. ruclips.net/video/m5BETb-hLgA/видео.html
I love the bass line, also. :-D Loving that you pick up things like dissonant harmony, harmonics, and overtones. ;-) Which reminds me. I'm not sure, but I don't think you noticed something very special in "End of the Road." You might like to go back and listen carefully, to see what I mean. :-)
Tim Storm has said that as he grew older, his voice got lower. Maybe as we watch Tim Foust, we’ll be able to see him get to that lower note... Though I’m thinking, “TIM Storm... TIM Foust...” that this “Tim” name thingy might be a prerequisite of a low voice. Eh? Yeah😬
Loved your reaction! My comment to Tim Foust's post of this picture of him and Tim Storms together was that "subwoofers everywhere were going into training in hopes of a duet." Someone else suggested that they were "sweating in fear of a duet". Some serious firepower in that pic to be sure! The URL for the pic is: OIP.bgiV8qd_AQi0u-TqqfbxIQHaJ3

His latest video is a cover of Amazing Grace. And he also made an acapella version of the Coffin Dance 😂😂
I have read that Tim taught Avi how to hit the sub harmonic range. Also if you like bass try the oogie boogie song by voice play. Home free is my favorite, but maybe because they sing my kind of music and the others dont. Geoff does a great job on the oogie boogie song.
Thanks for this! Enlightening as always! Peter and Tim's voices are a match made in heaven IMO.
