Machines of War - Hookbot OST

I made this song for ‪@waweezer4584‬'s platformer game, Hookbot (www.newgrounds...)
This is the very first song I started making for the project. It's pretty far outside of what I usually do, and a lot of it was experimental. I tried to go for a vaguely Doom-ish sounding vibe for it with the distorted guitars and harsh synths, since this is for a warzone-like area. The weird scale and time signature was a little difficult to work with, but by far the hardest part was trying to mix it to sound loud but also be dynamic and not clip. I think it turned out decently though.

I used Reaper for both my DAW and video editor. My theme is LCS_Flat-7 and I edited the ReaperThemeZip to support coloring the notes on the MIDI item.

that's actually really close the context of this area of hookbot lol. alas it doesn't actually play during the chase sequence with the main villain's right hand man, but it's during the lead up
