This was originally going to be ambient music, but the urge to add drums was too strong. I think it’s like maybe trance music now or smth, but idk genres really.
I put the most thought into the mixing of this one, which, for non-musicians, is sort of like how the instruments fit together and also how you keep them from drowning each other out. I basically tried to actually apply the random tips and tricks I see on RUclips instead of letting them collect dust in my brain lol. There’s still some issues I have with it, but I think I’d need to start the project over to fix them, so that’s just something I’ll keep in mind for the future.

This is a remix of song #1 for AZALI's remix contest. @AZALI00013 The piano is the soft piano from Spitfire Labs. I just used Vital Synth for the sine with some added reverb and chorus. The DAW I use is Garageband.

Well, I liked it; it was cheery. A sibling commented that it sounds Ghibli-ish. The final chord didn't quite feel resolved, though.
That's fair. I think the last chord contains some notes outside of the basic tonic chord, so it probably doesn't sound as resolved as it could. Glad you liked it though!

Do you use fl studio to create these songs?
I actually use Reaper. It's pretty nice and a cheaper alternative (optional $60 and a very generous demo version), but the stock plugins aren't as user friendly, and it has next to no built-in instrument plugins :(. In case you're interested, the instruments I used are Lab's Autograph Grand piano, the 'Flutliy' preset from Surge XT, and the 'Ecreoth' preset from Venus Theory's "Aura's Polyscape" sample library (all free software btw).
