  • Wow it work great the fluid bed caught all of the gem stones and all but the super fine gold witch ended up in the sluice box. I could not be happier with the way the mini high banker fluid bed sluice box worked I will be using this while I am out prospecting this summer looking for gold and sapphires.

      The weather was just teasing snowing again today spring can't get here soon enough. Thanks for watching.

    I think you have a real keeper there. Congratulations. Yep the fine gold always gets dumped with a fluid bed because it is the same weight as the lights. If you back off quite a bit on the fluid bed water, you should be able to keep most of it. Maybe time for another tube of sand. :-)

      There is nothing better than to have a idea and it works out just about as planned. You are right I think I need to get some more sand and do more testing. Thank you

    I'm going to have to go through our sand bags come spring to see if I can find a bunch of Sapphires to put in the bottom of my fish aquarium I think a few pounds of them would look AWESOME in there... I like you setup looks like it works pretty darn good... Be blessed... BBE..

      You might try to find some gold in those bags if you find sapphires in them you better let me know witch bags they came from. Thanks for watching Bobby have a great day.

    Very nice!! I was going to make one just like that myself. Life happened and I haven't had a chance yet. It will definitely be on my project list. I like the concept of using the fluid bed as the hopper for the sluice...

      I have been playing around with fluid beds for awhile, just havent gotten around to building it...

    I'm sure you had a lot of fun building and tuning that fluid bed hopper. You could go out and spend a lot of money to buy one, but DIY is a fun way to save a lot of money and the satisfaction you get from building a working contraption can't be had if you just go out and buy one. That's a fine example of American ingenuity Alan, which is a quality that's getting harder and harder to find these days.

      You are so right I have had a lot of fun this spring just trying out different ideas that I had while we were waiting for the snow to melt now that the snow has melted everything is flooding hope to get out and try my new prospecting equipment soon. Out of the three fluid bed designs I made I like the bucket fluid bed the best. Thanks for the comment.

      Yes I think it worked great. Give me a couple of days and I will do a more detailed video on how I built it. Thanks for watching.

    Astrobouncer made one several years back as did I. Seems to work good and very portable. I didn't add the sluice to it though.

      Thank you It worked OK but the wife hated it so it hit the recycle bin. She likes the trommel a lot better.

    • @alanrobertson2510
      @alanrobertson2510  6 лет назад

      Hi Randall. The flex hose is 1 1/8 inch I got mine from Royal Manufacturing I tried to get some at Home Depot they just gave me a funny look. Thanks for watching.

    What size holes would you suggest in the spray bars?

  • @sirwilliamofpennylot
    @sirwilliamofpennylot 6 лет назад +1

    Great video, what size holes did you drill for the fluid bed, I guessing 1/16" or would this be too big. Regards Bill

    • @alanrobertson2510
      @alanrobertson2510  6 лет назад

      Ok so the cheap drill bit I used has no markings on it by my tape measure the holes are 1/8 inch. I think the holes could be smaller my concern was that they would get plugged up I hope this helps and thank you for subscribing

    Think garnets would be heavy enough for this? Awesome idea btw

    • @alanrobertson2510
      @alanrobertson2510  7 лет назад +1

      I wish I would of thought to throw in some garnets but I think that garnet would be heavy enough to get trapped in the fluid bed. Thanks for watching.

    • @debiesubaugher

      Awesome, thanks. I look for sapphires too but I love garnets best.

    A little less water pressure and I would imagine you would have retained even that small amount of fine Gold.

    What angle do I put my grizzly at

    • @alanrobertson2510
      @alanrobertson2510  5 лет назад

      Honestly I do not remember I think it was about four inches from the bottom of the bucket. I only ran this for a short time it worked but it was just to slow. I like the one I made from a five gallon bucket much better.

    esta ideia é boa , vou fazer uma c duas mortificações, em vez de tela vou colocar aramas esticados assim vai facilitar o entulhos sai c mais facilidade, vou colocar uma rampa liza em baixo para areia desliza mais facilmente para a galha e evitar o acumulo de areia dentro do balde , se gosta sugiro q faça outro vídeo c estas modificações
