  • The Bucket Blaster High Banker is cheap to make and has a new and improved design to bust up that clay with no grizzly bars and it loses very little water witch is great for a recirculating sluice box set up.

    Great job! I hate grizzly bars for the same reason... large skinny rocks always fall through... I need to build me a bucket blaster or one of your bucket trommels! It is on my builds list lol.

    • @alanrobertson2510
      @alanrobertson2510  5 лет назад

      Hello Michael I had no idea that the grizzly bars would let so many big rock fall into the sluice. I will never do that again. Not sure witch one I will like the best yet the high banker is for sure the easiest and cheapest to make. I am going to make a new trommel that will fit on a gold cube we will see how that goes. Take care and thanks for watching.

    That is actually very awesome. I totally like the concept it don't look like much but the name of the game is if it works. So if it is finding you a lot of gold then that is what you go for. Sometimes people do all kinds of engineering to figure out the best thing for extracting the concentrates and or running concentrates such as what you're showing some people spend lots of money making some fancy things. But I am with you on this sometimes it is actually quite simple. And this proves my theory of sometimes the simplest ways are the best ways especially if they are persistent and work..

    • @alanrobertson2510
      @alanrobertson2510  5 лет назад +1

      Thank you. As you can tell from my channel I am not one to just spend a ton of money. It is easy to make your own stuff that catches gold just as well as the expensive stuff. Thanks for watching.

    Another goody Alan Thanks
    I have a suggestion that may help. If you attach a board on an angle from the top of your crash box angled down to just past the opening for discharging onto the sluice to act as a deflector plate, then you should be able to easily feed with your bucket shovel. I made one very similar to yours but I have lots of square buckets so used them. I have the same issue here with shale here. I've tried the grizzly bars and had exactly the same problem but had some 1/2" punch plate which seems to work well.
    Keep warm. Looking forward to the next one.

    • @alanrobertson2510
      @alanrobertson2510  5 лет назад

      Thanks for the idea that should work. I tried the punch plate it worked for the rocks just fine just to much surface area and I was losing a ton of water.

    An idea, maybe put more of a back on your screen so some water flows along top of hareware cloth, it may help carry rock along more and if not, would clean it more befor you helped it along. Can't wait to see you out in the bush, cleaning the gold out this spring/summer !

  • @chrislilly1463
    @chrislilly1463 5 лет назад

    Alan, again, great idea. Unless you have a person manning the clearing of the grizzly bars, they always seem to clog up. I feel like a carefully placed bead of silicone underneath the entire base (including across the mesh) would create a low point where water couldn’t travel any further and fall into the sluice, turning your minimal loss into almost none. Most of it seems to travel along the bottom of the 2x2”s to the end. Something simple you might try next time you crack a tube of silicone out.
    Have you watched Allan Guthmiller’s Home Depot bucket trommel and dewatering trommel videos? I would be interested in what you come up with after seeing that in action.

    • @alanrobertson2510
      @alanrobertson2510  5 лет назад

      Good idea Chris I will have to give that a try next time. I have watched Allan's videos and he did a great job. The only thing is with his set up you better plan on being there for a while to make it worth it. Just my two cents. Thank for the idea.

    • @chrislilly1463
      @chrislilly1463 5 лет назад

      His full set up is pretty big and to be honest I’m pretty amazed how little water you are losing despite your rigs small size. I will be trying a setup like yours. I like that yours acts as a trommel, classifier and clay breaker all in one.

    The problem I had with the wire mesh was that stones would get caught in it and slowly plug it up. They were a pain to clear because I had to pick them out one by one. I finally went back to grizzly bars but 1/2 inch is too wide and I can't find any that are 1/4 inch spacing.

    • @alanrobertson2510
      @alanrobertson2510  5 лет назад
