There is so much distrust of public medicine and medical professionals in the US right now that it honestly doesn’t surprise me that people get scammed by a random person in their house because they choose them over a plastic surgeon or dermatologist. I see it online all the time where people have more trust in the advice of an esthetician or MUA than a licensed medical professional. It’s very sad and unfortunately I think stories like this will become more common
Probably for holistic medicine i prefer natural medicine over pharmaceuticals but i am not trusting a random person or a holistic doctor for cosmetic or surgical procedures.

Whoa! If you have $6-8k for illegal injections why are you not going to a real doctor? Surely legal injections can’t be much more expensive than that?
I’ve actually watched a female discuss this subject, she did a bbl and did the legal injections at a Doctor office and she ultimately decided to get the illegal injections because she didn’t like the results of the legal procedures. The illegal injections last a life time if you live through it. So those who are addicted basically to that specific procedure want results with more impact that last longer. So basically you have to be mentally unwell to go for the illegal injections

The mother daughter duo are REALLY lucky that they're only going to prison for unlawfully practicing medicine. There are real cosmetic surgeons that won't do BBL's because of the danger. If something gets injected in the wrong place, you can kill someone.
I don't understand people paying them 6-8 G's. They could have gone to a real surgeon for that price.
The people getting botox and fillers from randos is strange to me, too. Botox isn't that expensive, and neither are fillers. Why would you risk your health and appearance to pay slightly less. People are wild 🤷♀️

They think they are getting a bargain.

I was shocked at the prices, too.
I just googled prices here for fun and you can get this done for 5000-10.000€ (apparently depending on volume?) at a top notch German clinic. And for as little as 3000€ in Poland or Turkey. Where you're still dealing with proper medical personnel, mind you. These aren't backyard operations, they are just taking advantage of the general lower costs of wages rent and such there. Still not ideal, if you need aftercare or there are complications of course. Not saying, people should do 'cosmetic surgery tourism'.
But paying 6000-8000$ to someone who isn't even a doctor seems especially insane.
What were these women thinking allowing these unqualified women to inject them?? They should be accountable too.
I ve been working on getting off of social media lately and here’s something I’ve observed. It can be hard dealing with FOMO k. The beginning, but once you get used to the real world again, and you take a peak to see what’s going on once in a while, not only is it not as appealing as it was before, but these people with all this attention seeking behaviors just seem more and more bizarre and you notice they don’t even look like regular humans anymore.
Daily meditation is good to bslance out all the Drama.

Dr. Gray I would like to also mention there are plenty of board certified physicians practicing out of their scope. I have seen PCPs injecting Botox into their patients. I’m sorry, having taking a weekend course on Botox and getting a certificate does not deem you a Botox specialist.
That being said the responsibility falls on both parties. My friends, let’s all respect our bodies to give ourselves the appropriate amount of research and time to make life changing decisions. We deserve that much!

I’m in work comp and we have injured workers with spasticity who get a lot of relief from Botox. It’s a great medication when administered safely!

I got invited to a "Botox Party." I turned the sisters in to law enforcement. I didn't rsvp because I knew I had a planned surgery at the hospital the day of the party. They never knew it was me. They were arrested. Thank God. I wasn't the only one to turn them in.

I haven’t heard of this particular case, but I’ve been hearing of others and I just don’t understand how they can get away with this for so long. I heard of one case recently where the woman unfortunately died after a butt injection or a butt implant also done by a non-licensed individual, it’s just horrific.
It's truly scary and sad. I heard about a women who got injected with some construction adhesive and ended up losing her limbs from infection in her bloodstream. I mean is a butt worth it? 😮

Yes that’s why I talk to my 19 year old daughter about getting tattoos. You need to be sure the person is certified and using the right sterile procedures.
Tattoo ink is not regulated by the FDA and can have heavy metals. Also it is 4x the cost to remove a tattoo and much more painful, it has to be lasered off.
I agree. When I got my first tattoo at 18, I asked my mom to help scope the place out and come with me and all that. I now wish I never got any tattoo at all 😅 but ya live and you learn.

I was off today and went to Lowes to get mulch. I got 10 bags and luckily there was a very nice young man working there that loaded into my car. I was very grateful for that. Getting it out and over to the flower beds was another story. Lol! I had to load them two at a time in my wheelbarrow and take them where I needed them. I don't have the physical strength I had when I was younger for heavy lifting. It's frustrating sometimes. But its all moved now and I sure would love to have tea, my dear, sweet friend. Although I think many of these procedures are overpriced, the safety and efficacy of these procedures is priceless. So many of these underground procedures are just as expensive as a clinical procedure. Why would anyone approach these back alley “practitioners”? Have they been denied treatment by a board certified practitioner? Are they intimidated by a legitimate practice?
What are your thoughts on doctors of dental surgery offering botox?
This is so unbelievably sad. Wondering what results they were promised? Whereas a professional wouldn't not offer promises or guarantees, and would also caution them as to the side effects. This duo may have been claiming that their products were from a foreign country, therefore better/less expensive. If these patients sought care from a licensed HCP, then why weren't reports made then?
Has anyone else seen that one story that circulated around social media - was it last month? - of the phenomenon of early 20s women making videos on tiktok about all the injections they get and how they actually look like they're in their 30s/40s?

Judging by the faces of the two monsters arrested, they have been injecting themselves.
A few years ago, I was in the hospital and my roommate was a 30ish woman with 2-3 children. She was admitted to the hospital for a massive infection and on heavy intravenous antibiotics. Her Dr. comes in and starts reading her the riot act. She had gone to another country for a discount breast augmentation and she got this massive infection under one of the implants. He straight up told her she's lucky to be alive and how would that be for her children if she died over this? 😲She was in for 3-4 days.
The daughter is 18 so “they” haven’t been doing this for 10 years. The mother’s face is so lumpy from fillers and the daughters lips are overdone as are her lashes, that should have been a red flag if their own work isn’t any good.
As with any other major procedure, you would go to a certified doctor and it's no difference when it comes to any type of skin enhancements or injections! DOCTOR Dray is a board certified dermatologist, meaning she is a doctor, keyword!

The US needs WAY more regulation and enforcement when it comes to all of these things. I'm glad the police arrested these two, but you're right, it's horrifying that they've been doing this for 10 years. And why is someone trained and licensed as a DENTIST able to perform a rhinoplasty? The guy who performed my root canal was absolutely fantastic, but I am not going to see him for a nose job. And if he offered nose jobs and root canals, I wouldn't have gone to him for my root canal, either.
They could have just went to a medical professional for those prices!

Be happy with you. You are beautiful the way you are and Dr. Dray is a strong advocate for this. However, if you must get some enhancements, go to a real doctor that isn't afraid to say they are board certified. It breaks my heart seeing these people getting hurt after making a bad choice.
If cardiologist can do heart catheterizations in the back of a tractor trailer with no surgical back up when an artery rips. Childrens hospitals offer pediatric heart caths in towns with no board certified pediatric heart surgeon. Dentist & anyone with any variety of medical specialty ( locally a neonatologist remotely oversees medispas offering similar services) Tele medicine offers eyeglass prescriptions, erectile dysfunction meds, mental health meds - what is so shocking that other opportunists want to jump in on a cash cow ( aesthetics) or that patients want a financial break??
