Warrior cats is literally the only reason I started drawing. That is what inspired me to pour years of work and effort into learning and growing and trying to animate it. And it still inspires me, allowing me to turn my daydreams while listening to a certain song artistic pieces to share. Warriors isn't some perfect series by a long shot, but it helped me find the interests I have today and I still read the series as well. Thank you warriors.
Before anyone asks, I have plasters on my finger because I've been washing my hands a lot more during the pandemic, and my skin can get REAL DRY. The plasters stop me from scratching the crap out of my skin. * cries in skin picking habits *

I met my friends because I slunk into their friend group after I heard them praising a book series, Warrior Cats. I am terrible at socializing and had no friends at that time, I also live in a abusive household. There has been many times that my friends saved me.
This is what the people with an 'ew-that's-so-cringe' reaction to fandoms/communities don't realise...It SAVES LIVES. It's a safe and fun space for people that feel like outcasts, or might be struggling to find the right friends, or have struggles of any kind. I don't know where I'd be today if it weren't for the little communities online that got me through all the bullying, lack of friends/support, and issues at home, from age 11 to 16.
Ok but does anyone else remember Scourge having a description involving unnaturally long claws? I always imagined him having, like, raptor talon sized claws in my mind. Whole-ass scythes on his paws

haha I def recognized some of that art! That's awesome! And absolutely! What you said about people finding stuff like this "cringe", it's best to just embrace what makes you happy and keep drawing! I see so many young artists get second doubts about what they like to draw and then feel guiltily about it and stop drawing. It can take a while to realize that the things you enjoy drawing can be "your thing" and something that makes your art special to you.
Oh wow, didn't expect to see Tennelle here! Love your work so much, you really inspired me when I was just starting out drawing and was completely obsessed by the warriors fandom! I remember just staring at your art and aspiring to reach that level- and I can say that I do believe I have after several years of work! I feel like every artist or just fandom enjoyer has gone through a warrior cats phase before (obviously not everybody, I'm just generalizing), but it's been around for so long it's basically inevitable to get into it at some point. I had my "phase" around 2 years ago, cause my friend was into it so I decided to try it out as well. And wow I really fell into it, I read every single book I could get my hands on and watched tons of animatics and animations. I didn't really do art, but I remember just making doodles/notes of all the characters and structures of the books. Heck I even remember explaining to my parents how the clans work and everyone's duties and stuff. I loved the characters and stories, I remember I staying up reading them till I finished the book! Even though I'm not really into it anymore, and I'm giving all my old books away to my friend who is still reading them, It still was a really fun series and I owe it a lot for expanding on my creativity and knowledge as an aspiring artist and writer!

I completely agree with Warriors bringing out creativity in people. I had drawn some back when I was young, but once I read the books and discovered that digital art was a thing (I legit had no idea lol) I started drawing cats for many years and went on to study art. And I've only recently gone back to updating my style of drawing cats and it's such a comfort for me :)
These books were the one of the biggest and longest special interests (neurodivergent fixations) in my life! I read them when I was in 5th grade and middle school (2009-2012). My reading comprehension wasn't the greatest but when I got hooked on this series, my reading test scores on standardized tests rocketed up to above average! I really have these books to thank for building a foundation for my reading/writing skills and having a passion for literature. You're drawings are beautiful Amy! ❤ They really brought me back to my childhood when I was really involved in the fandom.
Totally get that! I'm also in the neurodivergent category, and when I got into something, good lord, I was FIXATED/OBSESSED. It's also why I ended up reading Warriors as a teen rather than a kid. Dyslexia and emotional development struggles held me back, but it didn't keep me from enjoying the stuff I loved... I just did it later than most kids, hah!

I got the first book from my stepmoms friend, read it, and was obsessed. I then bought Yellowfang's Secret. And read it within a week. For about 2 years everything I talked about, drew, read about- was about Warrior Cats. Everyone thought it was cringy and annoying that I loved Warrior Cats at the amount I did, and honestly I think they were right? I would roleplay with classmates and it looked like we were dinosaurs yelling and flinging our hands around. I started really drawing because of Warrior Cats. My first actual alright-looking art piece (From a drawing tutorial) was made because I wanted to have better looking art that wasn't bobblehead warrior cat characters. I showed the lunch monitor at lunchtime it and they said, "That's a nice wolf drawing!" and I was extremely sad. Anyway, 2 years later, I'm not really into warriors, and only just vibe in the fandom because of the artwork by members of the fandom. But reading Warriors got me into drawing, into animation, and also into roleplaying online. I'd go onto ROBLOX warriors roleplay and be a total a-hole to everyone, get into arguments, debate, and make over-powered evil characters all afternoon with strangers. It was fun! I did cry at Hollyleaf's death, but didn't we all when she died?
Warriors MAPs are some of the coolest things on the internet. And although I did come a bit late into the fandom, I still love this series! (Wish I coulda seen it in it's prime tho)
I used to draw emo haired warrior cats all the time haha. It’s not really my style anymore but I appreciate you encouraging different styles like that, especially for young artists who are beginners. I started drawing around age 12 and I used to be embarrassed about how much I liked warrior cats because I thought people would make fun of me for it. But I think the community has a lot of supportive people and talented artists.
Omg my school did warriors role play at recess! Most of us hadn't read the books yet so this one girl like ran it all and took the best part of the play ground for her clan and completely lied about the set up and how lives worked, but was really fun and without it I probably would have been friendless 😅

I started reading Warriors back in the fourthgrade, and I just want to say I've still stuck with it all these years. I'll only stop reading them when they stop getting published! Edit: Just read the descrption, and dude I have SO many Warriors OCs.
I read warriors, but never really got into it. Was it that I could feel the crazy fans despite only reading the books? Or was it that I cannot remember anyone without a description? Was scratchythorns scratchypaw? Or was it that other cat that has a similar name? (Scratchythorns is not a warrior cat name… to my knowledge)
I'll be honest, the books weren't great, painful to read at times... it was just the loose concepts of battle cats in the forest that the fans went wild with, and that's what I loved more than anything :3

I had no idea warrior cats existed, it looks fun. I really like all the expressions of the cats in your artwork. For me the cat stories/ artwork I grew up with was the webcomic Lackadaisy, its so beautiful with its 1920s aesthetic full of cat people. The artwork is SO beautiful I can't even.

I think he used his enemies teeth and idk 'made it' his claws?? I think. Not sure. What I do know is that he had teeth and claws on his collar.

I started reading Warriors back in the fourthgrade, and I just want to say I've still stuck with it all these years. I'll only stop reading them when they stop getting published!

I read warriors, but never really got into it. Was it that I could feel the crazy fans despite only reading the books? Or was it that I cannot remember anyone without a description? Was scratchythorns scratchypaw? Or was it that other cat that has a similar name? (Scratchythorns is not a warrior cat name… to my knowledge)
I'll be honest, the books weren't great, painful to read at times... it was just the loose concepts of battle cats in the forest that the fans went wild with, and that's what I loved more than anything :3

I had no idea warrior cats existed, it looks fun. I really like all the expressions of the cats in your artwork. For me the cat stories/ artwork I grew up with was the webcomic Lackadaisy, its so beautiful with its 1920s aesthetic full of cat people. The artwork is SO beautiful I can't even.
