Great interview with Michael! Hoping Part 2 next time it would be great to talk about his side project/band ICONIC (2022 album was amazing) and all the other projects outside of Stryper. His solo album TEN (in 2019) is one of the best hard rock/metal albums I've ever heard. FYI. His music is grossly underrated unfortunately.
Fantastic interview, I appreciate that you didn’t rush Michael during it. Been a Stryper fan since THWTD days. And I still get super excited to see them, & before every album release. 🤘🤘
Michael’s the real deal. Stryper’s the real deal. They don’t claim and never did claim to be perfect and Holyer that thou. They stuck to their guns where many thought it was all just a gimmick. I saw Stryper in concert, back on their To Hell with the Devil tour, in the 80’s. I still have one of their NIV Bibles (with the STRYPER sticker on it) they were throwing out in the crowd. They Rocked the place Thanks for this awesome interview with Michael Sweet, Emily. You Rock! 🎸🤘🏼👍🏻
Love Stryper. Im big into christian rock and metal. Stryper broke out and proved it could be done. Now I get to listen to my favorite style of music with christian lyrics. Rock on 🤘
Wow! Great interview Emily. Showing my age here but I've been a Stryper fan since the early 80s and learned a few things I don't believe I had heard before.
Emily Congrats on the Interview I was blessed enough to actually be in the balcony for the Free video back in 86 I have seen Stryper 4 times twice in the 80's Love you're channel God bless you ✝️🙏7️⃣7️⃣7️⃣🎸
Michael’s a really good dude. The vibe I get from him is that he seems like he would be fun to just jam with (as that’s how songs are written anyway and these guys have clearly written many songs). And I almost forgot my boy Clint Lowery (Ive met him enough times to where if he saw me on the street he would recognize me immediately and shake hands same with Mark Tremonti too-I’m definitely a ‘super fan’ of those artists for sure) did some collabs with those guys in Stryper too. I’ve always liked Clint’s style in Sevendust and on his own-one of my favorite modern era guitarists. I’ve always loved Los Angeles (probably my city in America, also really like Las Vegas and Chicago too. Never liked Miami much though tbh. Florida is ‘ so half assed’ like my friend from Chicago who now lives in Texas says lol) and that song of his ‘God Bless the Renegades’ video was filmed in DTLA and just hits extra hard for me because of it.
One more thing, Michael and Oz are definitely underrated guitarists, and Robert as a drummer he is great. Michael has a lot of great songs as a solo artist. Real is my favorite
I still have a bible that was thrown from the stage when I saw these guys in the late 1980's as a teenager. They still rock and I see them whenever they come around to Michigan! Great interview Emily!
Nice interview. Interesting to know about Mr. Sweet's beginnings. I actually accepted Jesus Christ at their first tour concert in my hometown when I was 17! Cool. I'm happy to see them still at it after all these years. Thanks for the video. ❤❤❤
I saw Stryper before Soldiers Under Command came out in a church auditorium and they killed it even back then. Saw them again after it came out and they had the big production and it was even better. Awesome that they’re still rocking.
Great interview. I'm an old-school Stryper fan, but I am learning more towards everything from No More Hell to Pay through now!!! It's the best of their career.
Such a great interview. Very smooth and flowing back and forth. Very interesting to listen to. Even wanted it to go longer! Great guy and band. The real deal! Great job Emily!! Now the best thing would be for him to get you hooked up with a sweet "Stryper" looking guitar and you guys play together in some way, shape, or form!!! That would be EPIC!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🤘🤩🤘🔥🔥🔥🔥
20:18 Please do start a band!!! 30:16 “He is our God! Creator of all! Unless you accept Him, you’ll continue to fall! The battle is real, on you, He will call! So don’t ever wait because the guitar’s on the wall!”
I like your interview with styler , I never heard of them even though I grew up in the 80s, I just listened to their new album on iTunes when we were Kings it sounds great all of the songs I am going to order that album on Amazon. It’s coming out December 24. I am a classic rock collector and listener.
That's how you do an interview, you let your guest talk, great job (although I got a little lost with the couple minutes of guitar nerd talk around 30:00), and yes, the new album is very good, arguably their best, and as for their 'getting kicked out of the club', if only one soul was brought from darkness to light through their 40 years as a band, all of their 'not fitting in' will have been worth it.
Interestingly C.C. Deville and michael sweet are huge Randy Rhoads and Eddie van Halen fans ..so they had that going connection. C.C. Deville paying 4esoects ro both LA A leaguer guitar heroes during his spotlight solo on the Stasium Tour. Sweet is a fantastic riff writer and singer with better tone.
Great interview! Was waiting on anything related to the ISP MS Theta Pro (in particular where did the Theta name come from?... as I know of only one cult that subscribes to Thetan philosophy - not suggesting they are related but i know of no one else using part of the name.) But I would not be surprised considering they are based out of LA. 🤔🤔 I honestly have no info hence my curiosity. Anyway from the sounds of this interview if there was ever anyone who might be able to pull together a LynchSweet Show (with MS preferred players) I have no question you Emily are the Rocker 🤘😔🎸 for the job! Hehe✌️😋 (No pressures.) Good job and congrats on this fine interview! Speaking of (since you're posing with your Jiva) When will you interview Nitta Strauss? I hear she will be headlining with J5 this Jan25 in San Jose CA if not mistaken. I have the feeling you two would hit it off proper like. She is sorta 80s in new shoes playing for Al etc... so yeah... I'm just saying. Ok enough jibber jabber! Great job! 🤘😔🎸
WHAAAT 😶😲😵 it's THE MICHAEL SWEET 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽 pleasant interview... meaning... love the way YOU conducted it... and MR SWEET is really a nice guy... Thanks JESUS he is still "in bussness", if YOU know what I mean... by the way... talking about JESUS - The Bible's GOD... MARRY CHRISTMAS in advance ✌🏽🫶🏽❤️
Good interview w/ Michael. They're good musicians/songwriters, but I think they were overlooked and dismissed by a lot of people for their religious leanings and message. If a person listens just from a musical standpoint, the music is as good as most other bands in the 80' and early 90's.
🤘🏻🤘🏻
Thanks!
Not to mention;; if you are Any good at all ,That is a Gift. It's a gift from God. So...God bless Stryper for giving him the Glory.

Love this, Emily! You go girl! I never got to interview any artists until I was in my 30s. And my first interview was with Robert Sweet of Stryper!
Thanks! That's super cool!
Also, I forgot to mention that I totally agree with you on how the new album is the perfect blend of new and old. Not a bad song on it. 👍

Absolutely!😎🙏
My favorite STRYPER is against the law!!
I was in high school from 84 to 88....Stryper was by fav band. So cool to see you interview him.
Thanks for watching!
Great interview!
Thanks!
Wow! Great interview Emily. Showing my age here but I've been a Stryper fan since the early 80s and learned a few things I don't believe I had heard before.

Stryper is one of my favorite bands. Bee. Listening since 1988. Michael and Oz are both VERY underrated guitarists. Michael is a workhorse songwriter.
I agree!
Great Interview 😱
Thanks!
Stryper is awesome! Soldiers under Command!!!
Yes!!🙌😎
Great interview Emily!! Really love what youre doing... Michael Sweet is definitely the best out there.
Thank you! I agree.

Great interview Emily, I got to meet the guys in Stryper a few years ago, super cool guys.
Thanks! Awesome!
I saw Stryper before Soldiers Under Command came out in a church auditorium and they killed it even back then. Saw them again after it came out and they had the big production and it was even better. Awesome that they’re still rocking.
They've always rocked!

Have you listened to Iconic at all? Now that's a performance I'd like to see him do!
I'm not super familiar with their music!
@@guitarbyemilyIconic is Michael Sweet, Joel Hoekstra, Tommy Aldridge, Marco Mendoza and Nathan James!
Great interview 👍

@@eric_in_florida we vibe really well together! I had so much fun!
Agree with this comment... I get that same feel as they talk. Very easy back and forth and easy to listen to as well. 😁👍
Another excellent interview. Keep up the great content but remember to keep up with your studies at school.
Thanks! I'm on break now!
I want to be friends with Micheal! He’s Christian and he plays guitar! He’s the complete package
He's awesome!
Definitely
He’s a great guy
