On our recent trip to London, we tried 3 of the best afternoon tea experiences, including:
    1) The Connaught
    2) Prêt-à-Portea: Afternoon Tea at The Berkeley
    3) Rosewood
Watch the entire video to see which tea experience we thought was best!
We have tried multiple afternoon teas on previous trips to London, including at The Langham and Brown's Hotel. These experiences helped inform our assessment this time.
We also included a surprise honorable mention toward the end of the video. It's an afternoon tea experience inside the hotel we've stayed at during our last two visits to London. You can see a review and tour of that hotel here: • Pan Pacific Hotel - Lo...

Thank you that was so fun! I also have a son named Sebastian and oh what a sweetie your son is:))) It was bad form not to let you take a bit for your baby to go at the Rosewood despite how lovely it was.

All of these looked great! You can find it in the states and it's also delicious, but it really is a must if you're in the UK. We went to the JW Marriott Grosvenor House for afternoon tea in 2018 and I loved it. They started us off with a palate cleansing drink (in a shot glass) that tasted like an orange creamsicle popsicle. It was topped with cotton candy. The scones, sandwiches, and mini desserts were delicious. I definitely recommend. It was a pretty roomy restaurant so I imagine they'd accommodate children, though I can't say for sure.

Forget the overrated tea at the Connaught. The Wolseley in Piccadilly is much better and good value. If you want the very traditional feel then you can’t beat the legendary Brown’s Hotel or alternatively The Milestone Hotel, Kensington.

Nice to show a couple of places I didn't know about. I hear Harrods is really nice & great if you have kids. I would have liked to know what all the sandwich fillings were & see inside the cakes.

I hate when places lie to you about stuff like taking the sandwiches with you. We all know that it has nothing to do with "health codes" since every restaurant can do take out. I worked in food for over 30 years and I know that there is no such rule.

@@juliecobbina2024 No, there isn't. People take away food all the time from restaurants. Please explain how taking a few sandwiches with you is different than you picking up an order to go? We ALL would love to hear this.

I don't know if it is true but I've read that the health and safety issue regarding taking leftover tea sandwiches is the use of spreads like mayonaise which can go bad without refrigeration.

You mentioned or called it high tea at one point. That would have more things like port pies etc. people call after tea, high tea because they think it is fancier but in fact it is not.

I think I would stick a couple of sandwiches in my handbag and leave it at that! Such a ridiculous ‘rule.’ I think the Ritz claims that, too. The look of the food and service at the first place was awful! I’ll not be trying that one. Thanks for this comparison video. Wonderful effort!

Yes, I would not recommend the Connaught, especially for the price! The other two options though are definitely worth trying. Thanks for watching!

I actually agree with not allowing sandwiches to go….If you’ve taken a safe food handling certification, I have, this does make sense! Food poisoning is a real thing and takes very little time after leaving and outside temps along with the amount of time you will be waiting in between then eating those little tempting leftovers. They do allow scones and baked patisserie to be take out…they risk reputation and health and safety risks and who would want that? Thank you for your review…Sebastian was a gem at the afternoon teas. Cheers!

Not being able too take sandwiches away is to do with health & safety issues. If you or your child got food poisoning from the sandwiches because they hadn’t been refrigerated correctly, hope this clears things up for you.
