Schultz Choke - A Punishing Front Headlock Choke

- Опубликовано: 5 июл 2024
- Breakdown & Analysis of The Schultz Choke or Schultz Front headlock position named after the legendary Dave Schultz. The submission can come on quickly, and even if it doesn't, it turns the front headlock into a punishing position that helps to open up go behinds, breakdowns and pins. The Schultz Choke also flows together nicely as an Anaconda Choke setup as it encourages your opponent to roll and pin themselves.

This was the first move I learned in my only season of HS wrestling that I actually got reasonably proficient with. Pinned my first two opponents with a snap down to front head & arm, Schultz choke to nearside cradle. After the first two kids got put out, refs started calling me for using a potentially dangerous hold, so I had to learn other stuff.
Excellent. I've been fascinated with this since the Hughes-Almeida match.
Yep, Took me a while but I started working it again recently and have had some success with it now.
Here in illinois, we called it the Farm Triangle😆. Awesome vid as always!
Farm Triangle! Gold!
Your content is pure gold, mate.
Thank you! I Try!
Great video! Thank You for sharing these chokes!! Keep them coming
Awesome!!!!
Can’t wait for the cradle vid!
awesome breakdown. love dave schultz.
Craig Jones taught it in one of his seminar, he was using both palms facing toward self kind of grip but the idea is the same.
Nice breakdown! Been enjoying all of these studies alot! Very nice
Cheers mate!
You always post on intriguing techniques that I'm interested in - keep up the great work :)
Thank you Gordo, Ill keep going!
I thought this was gonna be my secret move for life damnn hahaha took me months to find the name of this technique until Neil melanson
Got to share the goods!
Great video man!
Cheers!
SB, will you please consider doing a Jens Pulver breakdown focusing on his takedown defense? Back in the day, him and Chuck Liddell are the two well-known guys who likes to "Sprawl and Brawl." Liddell's still stuck up in people's memory due to his numerous high-profile fights but Pulver, especially with the younger fans, is slightly spiraling down to obscurity. There isn't any video of him defending a takedown on all of the internet and he's barely, if not never, being talked about in forums/threads when they're counting out fighters with really good takedown defense.
I LOVE your videos
I'll always remember watching that Hughes Vs. Almeida fight.
Your videos are fucking incredible, thank you so much for this video. Watched Hughes do this live, and I've been obsessed ever since
Yo sonny I know your working hard ! Would love to see your take on Pendilum sweeps
I know it's not apart of this series but could you look at huizinga roll to ude garami/samboplata?
Do you have a patron? Really miss these videos.
Aye ay miss ya ladd
Ole reliable
You should do one on the Gator Roll
Or Hillbilly-Roll (2 completely different but cool Wrestling moves)
Can you make George Rush St Pierre breakdown video
I’m right leg and handed dominant, yet it seems more natural to do it to the other side is that okay? Is there a reason everyone seems to do it to the right side?
It doesn’t matter
I just found out you beat Dan Hooker! That’s crazy lol
I like this! I prefer chokes over joint locks etc. I find it's more controlling and satisfying
If you choke someone out in a wrestling match with this do you get peanalized?
Is this move legal in freestyle wrestling?
Yes although you're not supposed to try to put people out with it
The position is but the choke is not. So no doubt a grey line exists between them.
Where are you sonny? 😢
Man I been so busy. Started a gym www.apexmma.com.au which is going great, but taking up a lot of time.
Most of what he says is kinda useless in everyday life.
