    Vermont is where I was born. Grew up around Pawlet. Later we moved to Rutland area where I lived till I moved to Arizona. Grew up on a small dairy farm. My "claim to fame" was the fact that I managed to snow ski EVERY ski area in the state of VT, at least once, some I did many times. Been here in Arizona ever since 1966. I've skied every area in Arizona, also.

      Looks like you like Arizona better? Me I also born grew up in Burlington, sorry have to look back on how crappy it was and I am not the only one that thinks this. I am now living near DC in Northern VA and it is much better. Looks like you like to ski, maybe that is the difference. Otherwise would not want to wish Burlington VT on my enemy.

    I like Vermont as well. First visited this January for Von Trapp Family resort. It was amazing, so cozy with real wood fireplaces everywhere. Great food.

      So I just looked up the price of a basic stay at "Von Trapp Family resort": Starting around $400 per night, You must be rich and that would explain why you like it so much. One does know they can go to like Ireland for much cheaper and stay at a castle with a very large room, plus the airfare is cheaper. Expensive...

    I drove up the toll road at Mt. Mansfield. Then I hiked up to the very top. There was still snow on the top and this was early June 2021. The view was beyond gorgeous.

      I have been in the southern part of Vermont at the end of May sleeping outside (4 H Club) where it snowed on my sleeping bag. Yes woke up the next morning with snow on me. I was in Burlington visiting in July of 2022 and had to wear a jacket on July 3rd no sun that day and cold.

    Awesome video Robert. I will definitely put Vermont on my list. Reminds me of when I lived in Wisconsin, if Wisconsin had Mountains. Ohhh! those fall colors rich red, bright yellow, orange and green. Spectacular!
    One of your best videos with a lot of help from Mother Nature.

    I live in VT. You picked a good time of year to come and visit our state. Super laid-back state. Lots of good people. Lots of cool places to see and fun things to do at the right time of year. Winter is kinda rough, but if you like the cold and snow sports we have that as well. I myself enjoy April-November or so, winter in a wheelchair isn't very easy. But then again, life isn't easy, we all have our challenges. Hope you enjoyed the trip to VT!

      oh the granite capital of the world Barrie VT, been there many times. Vermont is giving housing away in Barrie to refugee's from other country's. What has Vermont done for the Vermonter? Nothing but crap on them. High taxation without any benefits. Where are the green mountain boys? oh yes that is correct they would be called Trump lovers during this time.

    I grew up in Burlington VT (off North Ave) until I was 28 then moved to the DC area in northern VA and it was the best thing I ever did. Maybe the difference is that we were poor and we grew up on welfare? Even the schools: John J Flynn Elementary: MS Greene what a card thinks she is miss America/Lyman C. Hunt Middle School: what a war zone, many fights, bars on windows, school admin ignores issues/BHS, looks like this building had issues and no one said a word when I was there, one has to carry a big stick around Burlington, high crime rate. Last time I visited in July of last year it was soo cold (July 3rd) that we had to wear jackets, plus it was very expensive. Look at even the property taxes being way high, how can the elderly pay for all that. Vermont is a bad place to live. Some of my friends moved away, one mentioned: What a nightmare growing up in VT and moved to FL, hasn't looked back since and that was over 40 years ago. Some say they like/love Vermont, maybe it is because where they lived before was not a good place. I would say living in Northern Virginia has been a GREAT place to live but maybe not so good to retire (lots of traffic). All this coming from someone that use to deliver ice-cream with Ben of Ben & Jerry's before one even heard of them and walked down Willard St with Bernie Sanders when he was mayor of Burlington.

    Vermont towns look so European, like in France, maybe because French Canada is near.

    • @MikeSmith-wr9hg
      @MikeSmith-wr9hg Год назад

      Most of downtown Burlington needs to be condemned. Houses are over 80 years old and falling down. I should know I grew up in Burlington. Sorry European/France looks better and they take care of their housing.
