Akira Takasaki is one of the best metal guitarists, ever. Masterclass playing!
Akira Takasi is one of the best lead guitarists alive today. Check out the song Soldier of Fortune for some truly mind-melting axe work!
Akira is a beast on guitar.
So underrated.
Could seriously be the Best ALL-TIME~
@@matthewmatt5285 Close, but Michael Schenker is the best of all time.
I have seen both of them live.
'Heavy Chains' was an old favourite song of mine by Loudness - and it stands the test of time, it is still a great song.
Heavy chains and shadows of war are awesome loudness tunes
One of my all time favorites and the first loudness song I learned how to play on guitar. God what an amazing album. Just as new to me today, when I play the disc and Akira still impresses the hell out of me. Ashes in the sky on the follow up album is brilliant as well.
Agreed
I just jammed Heavy Chains and Alexa almost lost her mind!
@@lasvegasvegas4236 That song is a masterpiece. I wish I could still play the guitar I had someone put a gun in my face during a robery attempt the gun blew a massive hole through the palm and I can no longer play guitar. 35yrs of playing and writing music has come to a screeching halt .
I'm losing my mind .
When this dropped in the 80's, I liked it for some reason. I guess I still do. Great reaction bro!!!
One of my all time favorite bands! I think it sad they didn’t get more recognition because they are excellent!
One of the best intro riffs ever!
And Akira has 20+ others~
Aww man I remember getting into this band in 85. I picked up their cassette for 5 bucks at a flea market. They really were big in Japan but they even made a splash for a little here in the states. The whole album is really awesome. Akira Takasaki really was an influence in alot of the metal bands that followed. Their whole catalog is amazing. Thank you so much for bringing back those amazing memories.
HELL YEAH , T !!!!!
Thanks for another dope-ass reaction!
More Loudness would be great!!!!
1. Street Life Dreams
(this is a MUST)
2. 1000 EYES
(song's about A-bombs dropped on Japan)
3. Let It Go
🎶🎸⚡🎶⚡🎸🎶
I Loved these guys! I saw them open for motley crue and ac/dc. Couldnt understand a word they said but it was still a killer show.
Thunder In The East is my personal favorite record. Takes me back to high school days. They’re absolutely amazing!
Great song. Akira Takasaki was a guitar God. Entire album was good. Thunder in The East was great
you should hear Lightning strikes. Is one of the best albums they have ever done.
I saw Loudness when they opened for Motley Crue on their Theater of Pain tour. Loudness rocked.
I used to rock this CASETTE tape in my car back in high school! LOL
I was front row at Madison Square Garden show opening up for Motley Crue back in 1985. Thanks for the review!
I have made it my new purpose in life to play that riff to perfection, its easy to find the powerchords but to play with that fluidity takes hundreds of hours of practice, Akira is a genius
Technically one of the best bands of the late 80’s early 90’s! Good choice!! 👍👍
Thunder in the east is a masterpiece of an album. Akira is a brilliant guitarist and was a huge inspiration and influence in the way I learned how to play guitar. God I wish I could still play like that. The 80's was truly the decade of guitar gods . I was truly lucky to be a teenager during that time. It was a way of life and still is to an extent,.🤘
I seen Loudness when they opened up for Motley Crue back in '85' on their Theater of Pain tour!!.... And the lead singer at the time was the only one who could speak English.
Irequest the song Esper............. off of disillusion album , has great guitar work
One of the best metal bands of the 80's. But so underrated.
Awesome band! Another Japanese rock band from the 80’s is X-Ray! Another awesome band!
Let it go
This lonely heart
Heavy chains
All by Loudness
Akira was/is a beast of a guitarist! Their sound since the 90's has become much harder. Great band...
Yes!!!! Finally thank you T you're the best!!!
Very fortunate to see this band in Dallas, Texas at the Arcadia on their U. S. Tour. Awesome Band!
How funny. I just watched this video on MTV Classic Metal Mayhem tonight and was thinking I had not heard this song for a long time and now you are reacting to it on the same night. TOO FUNNY. I remember back in the 80's there were 2 big Japanese metal bands. Loudness was one and the other was EZO. Their big hit was "Flashback Heart Attack". I think Gene Simmons produced EZO.
Born in '72 and Loudness is still on my workout playlist.
Good evening, I am glad to hear you are feeling better. This was a good song and performance by this band. I had never heard of them before but they were not bad at all. Have a good day.
Yes! Finally Loudness gets some love! One of my favorites by them is Rock 'n Roll Gypsy.
ANTHEM (band) is another Japanese group that hasn't received much attention. Venom Strike and Show Must Go On are probably two favorites of mine.
Duuuude u forgot “Do you understand?” and “Voice of Thunderstorm” those two songs imo are nuclear!!
I love this band. I bought three of Loudness' English language albums back in the day. Pro tip... when you've listened to this song a couple of thousand times like I have, you will (mostly) know what they're saying. They're actually still going strong in Japan. What a legendary band! Vastly underrated.
Akira had a band called Crazy Jizo. A really good unit!!
They were a legit metal band in the '80s. They opened for some of the biggest bands back then. I think they are awesome.
Wow, I hadn't heard anything from Loudness in decades! I remember back in the mid-'80s, I had their debut album.
I saw these guys back in the '80's they were incredible.
Yea pretty awesome, never heard of them before they are awesome. Great reaction my friend
pretty coincidence ,i just bought the CD this summer ,it was like almost 30 years didnt here that album ,i had this on tape casette 4 track 30 years ago
God, I love this band! That riff is so nasty!
Me and my best friend wore Thunder in the East out on cassette.
Saw Loudness with AC/DC in Toronto in 1986. My ex wanted to move to Ontario but we were only there for a couple months before moving back to Vancouver, that concert was about the only good thing about that failed excursion.
Loudness is more like a mix of Twisted Sister, Motley Crue, and Quiet Riot. Whoever told you that they were the Japanese version of Van Halen is sadly mistaken.
Yeah.. Van Halen has a much different vibe and sound.
I think they sound like 80's Judas Priest with Klaus Meine (from Scorpions) on vocals, but all dressed like Blackie Lawless (from WASP).
@@DanJackson1977 Even if he meant the guitarist was similar to Eddie Van Halen and this guy just misunderstood him. He's still wrong! This guitarist plays NOTHING like Eddie!
@@SylviusTheMad Wasp or Shout at the Devil era Motley Crue. Looks wise.
@@gregtroyan The only similarity between Akira Takasaki and Eddie Van Halen is they both have guitar straps.
I saw them open for AC DC in 1986. Awesome show.
Damn, that takes me back. I loved this album
One of the best riffs ever. When they were scheduled for the stadium to make this video the lead singer didn't have lyrics for this song so he just sang gibberish he said and they said mza meant nothing.
Some of their market got that aesthetic, I saw them open for someone too!
Some of the Western Metal Otaku got their moment in the sun! The committed totally!
Just surfing through some of your old vids...Very few have heard of loudness. They're really more like Iron Maiden meets Judas Priest at a Japanese restaurant love child. Another killer Japanese band is The boom boom Satellites. Try out "Easy Action" "Shut up and Explode" "Kick it Out". They have quite a few good tunes. They're little more recent than Loudness.
2 great albums by them are Thunder In The East and Lightning Strikes. Both mid 80's at the height of their game in that genre.
Anthem is another great metal band from way back. Make no mistake though, despite the look, Loudness did a lot of really heavy stuff. Scary heavy.
Brother you need to react to some Killer Dwarfs, "Keep The Spirit Alive!" Another classic from that time.
I think they are a great underrated band !!! PS I understand the lyrics ,,, 🤣
Japanese royalty! 80’s metal perfection
Akira Takasaki is one of the GOAT(S)
Loudness kicks ass
"HERROW...WE ARE ROUDNESS" ...I shit you not..they used to introduce themselves like that back in the day!!
They sounded more Dokken to me than Van Halen. Akira Takasaki is an phenomenal guitarist. Love this tune, the solo is one of my favorites. I saw them open for Motley Crue on the tour for this album. I ran into them in their hotel and they spoke very little English. I asked the bass player what MZA meant, and he grabbed his ass and laughed. I still don't know. LOL
as their producer said back then, it doesn't mean anything, it just sounded good (that's what they told him)
Best Japanese 80s metal band back then . anthem was another one
This Lonely Heart and Let It Go are both great songs!
It's because of Loudness that all these other Japanese bands were able to break in the U.S. always thought they were underrated, Akira is a badass on guitar. You should check out their newer stuff a lot harder and faster. Check out Kings Evil Japanese Thrash Metal, they sound a lot like early Slayer but the lead guitars are amazing, one of the best Thrash bands around. The drummer is the singer.
Heavy Chains and Let It Go are a must!
The lead guitarist is a legend. Have you done Soldier of Fortune?
Saw them open for motley crue in 1985 as a very young child.
Next up Anthems- Gypsy Ways (Win, Lose, & Draw) live & Black Empire.
They are awesome ! Seen them , tnt and stryper on same bill in the 80's . They jammed 🤘😜🤘 another Japanese band you might like is EZO !!! Gene Simmons use to manage them ! Check them out for sure !!!! 👍
Used to listen to Loudness back in jr.high
Holy smoke, I have this album. It used to be on rock video channel. At midnight was PowerHour, a whole hour of metal videos. Loudness, dio, celtic frost, etc. MZA(the band said it has no meaning at all)
Loudness "Twenty Five Days from Home"
RIP Munetaka Higuchi, orginal drummer (also drummer in this video) that also, sadly, passed away due to cancer. :(
I was I sixth grade when I first heard this. 🤘🏻
You have to do "You Shook Me" from LOUDNESS. That song rocks!!! Another Japanese band from the 80s is E-Z-O.
So good! Glad I found it. M-Z-A!
To me they were a cross between Motley Crue and Dokken if they had a kid together 😂😂😂
as always awesome reaction, and if you like japanese metal, i would like to suggest another awesome japanese metal band you should check out: LOVEBITES / When Destinies Aligns
Ftr, the constant chant of "MZA" doesn't actually mean anything specific. It's not an acronym or anything specific. Apparently they were struggling for a while to find something to give their song a bit of a unique flare and finishing hook, and as they randomly sang those letters while in the production studio, the producer basically told them to just go with that, and a classic was born.
Their English wasn't the greatest but Akira Takasaki kicks a** in any language. Unbelievable guitarist. SDI is another good song of theirs.
Dokken...Dream Warriors....for your Halloween theme////Alice Cooper....Man begins the Mask
EZO is another freaking awesome japanese group!
You may also want to check X Japan another awesome metal band. If I remember right they started in the 1988 if I am wrong I know someone in your comment section should know the right year
For the longest time, people kept asking them what "MZA" stood for, and they always said it didn't really stand for anything, they just thought it sounded cool. :)
HAMMERFALL does a Killer cover of this.
So does Therion...
Should try their masterpiece called “Slaughter house” with the Great Japanese singer Masaki Yamada.
I thought they sounds more like the Scorps or even Dokken. Back when this came out it was a bit cheesy for my taste, but I remember them on Headbangers Ball...
Akira Takasaki is one of the best guitar players in metal of all times. In case someone did not know. 😁
Be sure to add eX-Girl to your exploration of Japanese bands.
Start with "E-Sa-Ya" or "Pretty You Ugly" from the Endangered Species album and explore from there.
You should listen to esper by them it's badass
Several bands have done a cover on this, at least Hammerfall, Therion, Children Of Bodom.
Akira Takasaki is the Shogun of Shredding
Akira Takasaki the japanese Eddie Van Halen. Rip to the Great Eddie 🙏
ashes in the sky!
It's amazing how Masaki Yamada didn't know how to speak English but sang the English words correctly!!
X Japan! Longest, most popular japanese metal band running.
great content T, I saw them in 1985 open for Motley Crue and literally blew crue off the stage, I think they were ahead of their time and America wasn't quite ready for them, so yeah their earlier stuff before this album was killer in Japanese, I think Babymetal learned a lesson from them...don't try English only for a whole album, if they would've came to America as they were before, all Japanese with a few English words thrown in for effect it might have happened for them, but the American record label ruined them here. that's why today's Japanese bands mostly stay with their own language with occasional English words for effect with very few exceptions.
Dude. You need to check out Japanese band E.Z.O.!!
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
DESTROYER
HERE IT COMES
KISS OF FIRE
HOUSE OF 1000 PLEASURES
FLASHBACK HEART ATTACK
DESIREE
MR MIDNIGHT
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
TNT/ dude, u play some great sh#t. So many times i was brought back with ur song picks. How about WarriorSoul-Losers...please
I'd like to suggest another Japanese band - The Let's Go's. They most certainly aren't as old as Loudness, being a current band, but this amazing trio of ladies from Tokyo play fun and energetic music with a kind of old school punky sound, with hints of The Ramones, The Undertones, The Buzzcocks maybe, packing more into two minutes than most bands manage in four or five. Here's a track "Feel Like It" for starters. ruclips.net/video/Za98RjpKnK8/видео.html Enjoy!
Check out the heaviest Loudness song called SDI
Feels more like Motley Crue
You’ve got to listen to Queensryche, Queen of the Ryche
if you like these guys you need to check out EZO and Earthshaker damn good Japanese bands
Kiss crazy crazy crazy nights you should react to that one
