    At 66 I need these to get into my 2024 rav4 woodland. Only disadvantage is up here in ND reduced clearance in the snow. The black looks good with my black color too. Nice video sir.

      @Installs and Pitfalls The US versions are really not that much better. They all rust once the protective black coating gets worn. I would have purchased the exact same as you did. Nice job.

    really appreciate this video. It was so much better than the printed instructions. Cutting the pieces out was so much easier than removing the bottom. Only one issue. I have a 2021 XSE and there is an aluminum plate that I had to trim in order to get the passenger side rear bracket on. Wasn't a big deal though.

    Any particular reason to cut the plastic and install the braket dirrectly on metal versus install the braket over the plastic?
    Sorry if this was mentioned in the video and I missed it.

    • @installsandpitfalls
      @installsandpitfalls  2 года назад +4

      That's a great question, if you don't mount it directly to the metal it can compress over time and loosen the hardware. Some of the plastic covers overlap making it spaced out unevenly. Metal to metal is best. Thanks again for watching

    • @installsandpitfalls
      @installsandpitfalls  Год назад +1

      Good question, no need to resecure the plastic, the covers are very rigid and do not move around. I suppose you could use double sided 3m tape if you feel it's necessary, but we just left them as is. Thank you

      Yes, they take a little getting used to as they protrude further out from the vehicle than the bottom door panel. It is not a problem for us but we must lean in a bit more than without the side steps.

    Great video...showed the install in the "depth" most of us probably need. However, I do have a could questions. Did you use Loctite on the bolts? Asking because, in the video, you never showed Loctite being used, more did you mention anything (unless I missed it) about using Loctite. If you didn't use any Loctite, have the nuts loosened up any...and, if so, how long after installing the nerf bars did the nuts start to loosen (or until you noticed they were loose)?

    • @installsandpitfalls
