Hey this is actually a really good way to improve dream recall! I did a ton of dream research for an English essay once. This (or any form of dream journaling) can highly improve your dream recall AND improve your likelihood of having lucid dreams!

I usually drift between Lucid and not-lucid. Like some parts of my dreams are cutscenes. When i'm lucid dreaming I can wake myself up if I don't like the dream. It's a lame superpower tho
I also have this. Like whenever I'm about to die in the dream I can activate some bullshit mechanism to make me live, but it has the side effect of waking me up after about fifteen seconds.
It really is fascinating. My dreams will make not as much sense being explained but are so full of lore and angst that it's like watching a crazy movie while also experiencing it in person and engaging with it. It feels like your soul or consciousness has wandered off into a new world.

As insane as all of these are, I love how everyones dreams has enough consistent themes to tell you something about the people dreaming it. I find it very fun to compare my dreams with my friends because we have such vastly different experiences. I often dream magical nonsense, my 2nd friend dreams nightmares consistently, and my 3rd friend dreams a lot of mundane everyday stuff- And those are actually pretty well reflective of our personalities. All dreams have some form of insane nonsense going on, but for example I find it really interesting how Freddie keeps dreaming of natural world scale atrocities. I dont mean to put meaning where there is none- I just find dreams super fascinating.
Hasn’t happened in a while but when I was younger I used to “sleep walk” where I’d be awake and interacting with stuff and be aware it’s happening but think it’s a dream and unable to get out of it. I’ve messaged my old boss, bursted into my dad’s room demanding obscene things, I’ve rearranged cutlery. Man, once I had a really weird dream😭😭 Ok so it went like: I’m sitting on a plane and I hear the classic: “okay, we are now taking off” and so we do. We start to fly as usual, and like 30 seconds after taking off the pilot goes: “okay we gotta turn back”. And he does a straight U-turn back😭 We land, and we take off, it’s like what just happened happens again, so we turn around. And then we are forced to get off the plane. So we get off. And we are suddenly on this weird island with a big cliff, there is also a lot of camping spots. And I’m wearing a sweater, so I look of the cliff and think: “huh… I wonder if I can fly if I jump off with my shirt as wings…” and so I take of my sweater and like… tangle it around my arms and so I sprint and jump off the cliff, and somehow I am flying. Like wtf. But honestly that was the time of my life😭And then I land. And I go: “wow! That was fun! Let’s do it again!” And so I do it again, and again, and once more. But when I’m about to jump off again, a man goes up to me and goes: “Uhm… excuse me, but can you please stop jumping off the cliff?” And I go: “why?” And then he goes… “because my son is losing his underwear”…. WTF?!😭💀 and I’m just like okay. And I wake up. I know it’s not the weirdest. But it was really weird to experience😭😭

I should mention the "we" in question is my whole immediate family, and Albert Einstein. What a cameo.
