    Great Video. I see you said to connect the battery and ensure it is on. I recall reading somewhere that the battery needs to be disconnected. I am scared of doing the wrong thing - can you confirm which is the right thing?

    • @LukeLorusso
      @LukeLorusso  Год назад +3

      Hi! I prefer to leave the battery connected and turned on cause I've learned in my life to never assume that the power coming from a USB cable will ever be enough 😅
      That said, it's SUPER IMPORTANT that you do as the manual says: "Caution. During programming, the display must be off!"
      That's why maybe you read that other advice elsewhere: overcaution, which is not a bad thing...
      Do what you feel it's best, just be sure to keep the display off while flashing

      I disconnect the battery before doing any installation --> work fine. however I use a short DIY programming cable to make sure there is not much voltage drop on the cable.

    5 Stars presentation. Very thorough and recognize the time and research you did! Looking forward to Part II and it's info.
    The CYC Photon mid-drive (@ $950) been getting lots of attention. HV or High Voltage channel is a good source of info. His BBSHD kit is a beast & He loves his Photon. He also mentioned that a Tongsheng engineer has made a separate company "2K"? that's going to expand on the Tongsheng system.
    Hope both companies send you a motor so you can introduce it to your European viewers.

      @@LukeLorusso Thanks, enjoying both already! There is a difference between the 250W and the 750W motors indeed but I heard that custom software changes feel of both for the better. I'll start with 250W first and then think of doing 750W with SW102 display.
      Thank you again for your videos. Thanks to them I pulled the trigger and bought TSDZ2 motors as Iwanted riding feel as close to Bosch system as possible and I'm not disappointed so far.

    The mystery speed you see at powerup and other times are status - Battery voltage and I think power levels . The odometer compensation option makes it so the first little distance isnt added to your odometer and it isnt adding phantom miles to your overall odometer.
    I was hoping you would explain the E02 menu system - where you start in street mode so it is street legal from poweron but a combo of buttons can change to say hybrid assist I am yet to see a video that shows that :) But yes Hybrid mode rocks

    • @LukeLorusso
      @LukeLorusso  Год назад

      Thanks man, that's really helpful!!! 💪
      It makes sense: 58.3 is the battery %, 37.7 is the residual volt... but what's that last 19? Do you know it?
      ...yeah sorry for not going too deep into the explaination, I'm still figuring it out

    • @brucemcleod5575
      @brucemcleod5575 Год назад +1

      @@LukeLorusso All good - I did mine about 6 months ago and still cannot figure out the menu system :) so like you just set it to hybrid assist on power on. But the street mode from poweron would be good for those countries like mine that are really pedantic about the 250w limits, as if your bike is suspected of being overpowered will only LOOK like a 250W motor without the menu changes.

    buongiorno , io ho installato OSF DI EMMEBRUSA, impressionante nella potenza ad eco , tour, la marcia spped non la uso quasi piu'. oltre ad consumi ridotti della batteria , non voglio esagerare ma resco a fare piu' del 30 per cento in piu' di strada . Per quanto riguarda il display VLCD5, mi da' piu' informazioni, appena accendo il display il primo numero che compare ho potuto constatare che coincide con il livello di batteria, anche se la misurazione dalla piletta in alto a destra e' molto migliorata, poi compare un secondo numero che ho notato che dovrebbe coincidere con le volts di carica batterie , perche' man mano scende e cosi' anche il primo numero. Devo dire che il motore nemmeno riscalda eccesivamente dopo lunghe percorsi di cui anche in salita. Dimenticavo io un TDSZ2B 500W. Sarebbe bello approfondire la lettura del display dopo l'aggiornamento. grazie

      Only you know this :)
      The detailed part will come with the next video, but suppose you have a 17Ah battery @ 52V. It makes a theoretical output of 17x52=884Wh.
      For such a battery:
      Battery current max: 17
      Battery power max: 850 (better to be conservative)
      Battery capacity: 884
      Battery cells:
      Battery voltage cutoff: (depends on you but I would put) 45
