- I may be biased, but I absolutely love this take on the fun rumor, and think it would be one of the best coasters in the world! I do not actually think this will happen, but if it somehow does I will probably piss and shit everywhere.

Big thanks to my friends Marv and Julian for doing the amazing supports on the massive spike and letting me use their Top Thrill Dragster recreations for this! This is something I made late 2020-early 2021 when I was really missing CP during the offseason lol
Dragster 555 takes the iconic Top Thrill Dragster and turns the thrills up another level! Cedar Point continues their reign as coaster supreme as they build this record shattering coaster.
Standing at 555ft tall, this is the first coaster in the world to break the 500ft tall barrier! Hitting speeds of 135mph, it is the fastest coaster in North America and the 2nd fastest in the world, and fastest backwards coaster in the world! The ride has 21.5 seconds of airtime spread across 5 airtime moments, two of which set the records for fastest backwards airtime moment and fastest airtime moment in the world! The ride breaks many many more records, almost too many to count.
The ride starts off with a launch from 5-65mph (0.8g) sending the train over the airtime hill, giving riders a semi-weightlessness feeling (*not actual airtime*). Riders then quickly boost to 95mph before climbing the first 300ft of the ride's original tophat! This first spike gives about 5 seconds of weightlessness before it sends riders into a 1.3g backwards launch, catapulting riders into a backwards ejector airtime hill reaching almost -1g at speeds of over 110mph! The train accelerates again reaching a top speed of 135mph as it rockets riders into the 555ft tall 540° beyond vertical spike! This 93° steep spike allows riders to feel 7 seconds of airtime, as they take in the twisting view of supports around them and an amazing view of the surrounding peninsula. The ride then coasts through the last swing as it flies over the airtime hill at 123 mph, pulling -1.3gs. The riders then go up and over the original 420ft tall tophat and spiral 270° back down into the brakes!
Due to the increased length of the train, as well as the more consistent operation, the ride's capacity actually increases! The original Top Thrill Dragster could launch 18 riders every 60 seconds, while the ride was only 17 seconds long! This gives the ride a theorhetical max capacity of 1080. Now, this ride can launch 24 (or 20) people up to once every 50 seconds! This gives the ride a potential max cycle count of 72 and people per hour capacity at 1728!

Length: 3455ft
Total Experienced Length: 5270ft
Total Airtime: 21.5 sec
This is an incredible ride concept. They would have to shift the whole station back. But, that spike would be a great nod to Wicked Twister, everyone gets a rollback, and that spike would be an amazing sight to see from anywhere inside and outside of the park.

@@baconcat2458 Yeah, but it was kind of rare. Usually, it seemed, unless you were on one of the first trains of the day or got on it right after it opened after it rained, was pretty unlikely you'd get a rollback.
Now every ride cycle includes a rollback

@@Story0fUndertale capacity nightmare tho, just doesnt make sense really. The most likely outcome is fitting it w LSMs and adding a few additional elements after the tophat in order to increase capacity. Doubt they would do anything that makes the already bad capacity worse.

When Tony Clark was asked if Cedar Point could ever top Steel Vengeance the year it opened he said “Oh, don’t you worry.” Not that they had any idea TTD was a few years from it’s demise but this would fit that description.

Really cool concept; loved dragster for what is was more a thrill without the overhead restrains like Ka, but evenly Kingda Ka will be retired knowing that there is land the coaster that can be used a full coaster can be imagined, but only time will tell though.
I always loved that the station had 7 flags on top.
I'd love to see something like this, multiple launches, rollbacks, extra height, new speed records and everything
Unfortunately i highly doubt cedar point would do something like this but it is something to think about or consider

@@Raven1015 If only, but at this point, I just hope it reopens in some new form, even if it's as simple as a different launch system. Dragster has always been my favorite roller coaster so I hope cedar point is willing to give it a second chance
@@Raven1015 it never will, lines will be hours long, only being able to run one train on a coaster like this is impossible. That’s why coasters that do the spirals and go backwards are always shitty 😭
@@scotthardie9970 there are other ways than to have the track be a complete loop. The station could be on a spur that has a section of moving track to get it on the main line for the launch. See Ice Breaker at Seaworld
@@KnighTron404 but still regardless of that, making it something so much more complicated when it’s already such an advanced coaster because of the way the launch works, it would just never happen I feel like. It would cost so much money and time and break down probably more than it already dies

I really couldn’t imagine a feasible remake version of Dragster that would feel equal or better. While this wouldn’t be the rush of a hydraulic launch, this RIDE WOULD BE INCREDIBLE, and feel like a true successor!

Honestly the spike would be the best bang for CPs buck. It would nearly double the ride time and it would prolong the finale of going over the main hill. It would feel like a brand new coaster

This concept is so awesome! Even though swing launch on dragster seems unrealistic, I can't think of a better way that you could have done this. The supports on the back spike are SO GOOD, and the fact that you could increase the capacity is very impressive. Overall an outstanding creation :)

This is not only a incredible work of art what you did, but I honestly would love to see that happening to my #1 coaster of my bucket list. Not only for the fact, that this concept would honestly be a true reimagination of Dragster, but it would be concept that Cedar Point could market. As the new ride, even without increasing the height could re-entry the record books as the: Tallest, Fastest Multi-Launch-Coaster. Also, with with having a multi-pass launch, I feel like it's much more likely, that the LSM-Motors are able to have the required energy to have the train crawl over the massive Top Hat. And last but not least, with the backwards spiral, Dragster would pay an homage to Wicked Twister, which is hands down fantastic.

As a pipedream I absolutely love this, Super creative and looks like an awesome ride. Realistically I think something interesting here is the bunny hill on the launch track, I dont think they could let it cycle back and forth due to capacity, but that bunny hill gives them a little more room to squeeze in more LIMs if they need it, I wouldnt be totally shocked to see Cedar Point do something like that if they needed to get creative to fit LIMs.
Funny enough the capacity is increased on this, as the LSMs are able to launch a train in as often as the hydraulic launch could!
@@SavageCoasters How do you account for the train traversing the track back and forth and the ride time being so much longer? If you have a way to have 4-6 train ops functioning like dragster did I would be mighty impressed.
@@uu9rj Although original ttd had a ride time of 17 seconds, it was only capable of launching 1 train every 60 seconds because of the catch car resetting, etc. This one takes those 60 seconds and converts them into ride time. Once the train has passed the top of the tophat, the track switches over and a second train goes onto the swing launch, and starts the first swing. This allows a 2nd train to already be one launch into the cycle while the 1st train is exiting the brakes. If for some reason the train did not leave the main brakes in time, the 2nd train would just decelerate and park at the beginning of the launch instead of launching backwards and up the spike. It still has the double load and unload that dragster did too. It's hard to tell bc of my shitty station lmao, but there is a block where the transfer would be where the rear load station train parks and waits for the first train to complete the swing launch. This would allow the ride to have consistent 5-6 train operations. It's kinda hard to describe with just words but I hope that helped!

I'm glad that the real ride didn't turn out like this. If the spike was taller than the top hat, then the last "launch" up and over the top hat wouldn't actually be a launch at all, but a very long trim. And that would suck.
in reality this would have only needed the two launches, its designed so the final pass wouldn't launch and would instead just coast to the right speed so it wouldn't need a trim :)

The weight of the trains isn’t always going to be constant with every ride. There would have to be _some_ amount of trimming going on to ensure that the train hits the right speed every time it goes up and over the top hat.
Too fast up the top hat and it will put unnecessary strain on the trains, the track, and the riders.

It looks amazing but if it doesn't have the old instant rush launch then it won't be the same but better then nothing I suppose
