    As you finish your scope this is can be used to create a flow diagram. Just a thought. Hmmmmm! 🤔

    • @ExcelForFreelancers
      @ExcelForFreelancers  2 года назад +8

      Yes certainly. If you tie relationships into your database, you can then automate & visualize those relationships with shapes & connectors.
      It would not be a huge leap to create an 'Automated Process Flow' Based on those relationships. Hmmm. Always making me think. I am writing down this idea and I am going to steal it from you :) But then of course i will show you how for free. :)

    I am trying to add an additional line under Employee Name and Position. I added the column on the Staff List table, and in the macros I edited the table from column H to I. The Column is named Course and I added Course as Sting, on the top, and added it in the .GroupItems (& vbCrLf & Course). The macro will now add a line to all of the employee's name boxes, but only the first row wording will populate in the Org Chart. Do you know what I am missing?

    Love it! So at 36:48, how can the PicFile ever be empty with a concatenated string (i.e. “\”)? I ended up prompting the user with a “filepicker” in the event PicFile returned “\”.
    Got back on track and I’m good to go!

    Cool concept, but I've not had much luck when the spans of control are larger and the number of layers is more than 4. Also, is there anything you have built that allows for dotted line (or dual) reporting relationships? It's helpful (necessary) to be able to show on an org chart if someone in my downline organization also has a reporting relationship with someone else who is not inside my organization hierarchy. For example, I have a Finance / Plant Controller sitting inside of a manufacturing facility and they show up as a direct report to the Plant General Manager. However, that Plant Controller also has a dual reporting relationship to the Controller who is in the corporate office and reporting up through the Chief Financial Officer.

      @@ExcelForFreelancers thanks for the response. I do have a working solution in MS Access, it has other limitations, not the least of which is that Access is not as widely used as Excel.
      I did purchase your full pack of Excel workbooks and look forward to seeing what other cool apps you have built.

    • @ExcelForFreelancers
      @ExcelForFreelancers  3 месяца назад

      Thank you so very much, I really appreciate that. Yes you are right. Access, of course, was designed to build application, however it is not nearly as widely used as Excel, so people simply prefer to Excel. This particular training, compared to my others, is rather complex when you start to add more conditions and more layers.
      A better solution would be maybe slightly more manual, drag and drop type, then a fully automated solution to help keep things organized.
      I hope this helps and thanks so much.

      Hi and thanks for your comment. You can determine the # of people at that level, and then divide by the space amount of space. This will provide equal distance among those people at that level. You may also want to consider increasing the total space provided.
