Southern Cameroonians (Ambazonians) are fighting for liberation because we DESERVE to be free on our land. We were colonized by the British and the Germans, but when we were forced to join French Cameroon in the 1960s, France became our 3rd Colonizer.
Unlike our Francophone-Cameroonian Counterparts, we have NO cultural ties to France. We are treated like second-class citizens by Francophones, many of which have a strange superiority complex due to their "French" Identity (lol).
I used to advocate for the unity between Anglophone Cameroon and Francophone Cameroon, but i realize that it will never work. Too many cultural differences based on colonialism alone. TOO MANY Innocent Anglophone Cameroonian have been slaughtered, and too little Francophones have spoken out. Most Francophones simply do not care about the fact that Anglophones are being targeted and slaughtered.
One thing is for-sure, the Republic of Cameroon will not prosper until my people are LIBERATED. God is our witness. Peace and love to everyone reading this.

The UN Assembly voted independent to Southern Cameroon Ambazonia in 1961. The British came nd introduce a plebiscite by joining us to French Cameroon who already had their own independent in 1960. We 've restored our independent back now fighting for recognition. Britain should should correct their mistake by recognising us as an independent State according to the UN vote of 1961.

This documentary seems rather one-sided to be frank. The rebels are no angels either, given some "consider schools to be legitimate targets because the French language is taught as a mandatory subject", for example. And I'm sure the local warlords aren't too keen for talks with the government as they are probably making good money. We have seen so many times in Africa that while the claims and reasons for independence of seceding regions were valid, the resulting conflicts brought more destruction than benefits obtained by sovereignity.

Rebels do attack students, not schools that's just because they gave a clear warnings that schools should not function in this time of the struggle so that it will be a clear sign to the government that they are serious about the dialogue issue, but Cameroon president doesn't give a damn about what they want

Since then it has been a downward spiral of assimilation of the English system which we excelled in and we have become slaves and second class citizens in dictatorial nation of Cameroun. But we are determined to regain our freedom.God is a God of justice and we will receive justice-The Freedom of Ambazonia.

From overly mental oppression to overly physical harm. When it comes to eachother we choose ,any motiive but love.Compassion is never the priority.I don t live there so I can not expect my feelings to be relative. When you are treated as second citizen and your human rights are snatched by the majority, it is your right to fight for your rights and freedom. I also feel the same here in Nepal. Our country has new constitution which clearly states that Nepal is a secular country. But government is giving public holiday on festival of Hindu, Muslim and Buddhist but not on the festival of Christian and Shikh. Our government is influenced by the Hindu majority and they are liberal to Muslims because Muslims are supporting some political parties of Nepal like RA PRA PA, a Hindu political party, for their benefits. Let's raise voice and unite against dominance of majority until you are treated as the first citizen.

God help this world! I had no clue this was going on. Have they heard of Canada? But then remember what was happening in ireland before 9 11 happened here in the US. People realized afterwards that whichever side they supported kept the religious conflict going. It forced a reconciliation when the funding from the US dried up. But I don't know enough about Cameroon to even comment on this. I'm saddened and horrified.

Am from that region and I hate this guys as much as I hate the stupid government of that country . It's now almost 4 years that kids are not allowed to go to school, what is the point of talking about freedom when you fight education, you kill teacher , everyone who is against you? Africans should learn to be one.

@@stanmboks2594 I am also from Cameroon. You cannot share blame equally between the freedom fighters and the government. A country cannot have one man rule the country with an iron fist for 40 years, a North Korea-styled dictatorship that openly declares war on its own people and you expect an uprising to never happen. I am surprised it took this long. It is 40 years too late. This is exactly what happens when leaders rule by the iron fist. The people eventually tire and revolt. World history proves me right. Blame it on the government, and not these bush fighters.

The fight is to restore the values of a lost state that prides to be the 1st democracy in Africa, in which a seating PM lost, and surrendered power to the winner in the most peaceful and democratic ways possible. The State of the Former British Southern Cameroons.
A state that went into federation with La Republique du Cameroun but Cameroun cunningly and unconstitutionally destroyed the federal status and greedily knitted an assimilation agenda that destroyed their police force, and economic and social institutions.
The diabolic agenda has also placed them in a deep rooted second-class position in the affairs of the ill-fatted Cameroun with respect to the terms or the raison d’etre of the union (that by the way doesn’t even have a treaty till date).
Those fighters may not adequately articulate the bad faith of the political mafia that also refuses to see the problem as it is. Nevertheless, the reasons for the quest for their freedom is briefed in these few line above.
I hope it sheds light to whoever cares to know the truth. In today’s world, there is no room for lies and manipulation. Unfortunately, even some Camerounians are not exposed to the veracity of their history.
