Peter so true - you are ne er really alone in Thailand - I always travel by myself and I have met so many long time friends over the years. Each time I'm there the list just keeps growing.
Story two reminded me of my weekend in Glasgow... I could not understand anything anyone was saying, but the Scots watched plenty of yank tv and had no problem understanding me. I never felt so dumb in all my life 😮😮

I had dinner with a girl at a local Thai restaurant in the university sector of Bangkok. I got there first and got a nice table next to the window. While waiting, the staff asked me to move to a back table next to the kitchen. They said there was more room back there but I could see what was happening. The place was packed. They had a Thai couple, probably regulars, arrive and wanted my table. I reluctantly moved. When my date arrived I explained why we were seated next to the kitchen. In the US, seating me next to the kitchen would have been an insult. I knew about not making a scene but I couldn't help myself and stood up and asked again why I was moved. She started to get embarrassed and asked me to sit, and I complied. Do you think if I lived in Bangkok and was a regular there, they still would have asked me to move?
Thinking of your channel when i came across a terrible news story from the Gaza conflict. Seems there was a group of Thai agriculture workers massacred at a Kibbutz on that first Saturday. Poor sods probably never understood the politics of the place. Tragic.

Well Peter I'm not really sure if I agree with your family first attitude. I understand that you haven't seen your daughters for some time. However, you are an entertainer who provides a public service consistently every week. I'm sure you can multitask while your family visits. Cheers
I'm not going to sit on a laptop spending hours and hours editing videos and let my daughter sit in the lounge watching TV want to do it. I haven't seen them for a year I'm sure people will manage a week without the stories or live streams
@@ThailandBound Surely a compromise can be determined. This is akin to BBC News takng a week off and telling their viewership "Carry on, stiff upper lip and all that".
I work alone, the BBC have 1,000 of Journalists, they don’t need to close down the studios for someone to take a holiday. They would work out a rotation system as they have so many people

I would have waited for my date to arrive then immediately leave that restaurant without ordering anything

Same as in the Phillipines...but who enforces it? I don’t think local Police go around knocking on Hotel rooms , a asking couple proof of a marriage ?
