Hull City Of Culture Short Film

MA Dissertation Project.
The city of Hull has been blighted by a gloomy history. Regularly topping lists of Britain’s worst places to live, it comes with a reputation that is at best questionable. In two years time, it has the chance to rise from the shadows, disprove the doubters, and transform itself in the eyes of the country and the world. In 2017, it will become the official UK city of culture, which will see a lucrative programme of international arts events invade the city across 365 days.
I investigate whether one of Englands forgotten cities can capture a new found legacy as a cultural capital.

Just come back from a fantastic weekend in Hull, enjoying the city of culture 2017. Did lots of cultural stuff of course but the best thing about the whole visit was the lovely lovely people. Hull is a great city with great character- please visit- you will love it!
