This talk with given October 13th, 2020
Sister Sharon Eubank was the first counselor in the general presidency of the Relief Society at the time of this talk, the Church’s organization for its six million female members ages 18 and over. At the time of her call in April 2017, Sister Eubank was employed as the director of Latter-day Saint Charities, the humanitarian organization of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and she continues in her role as president while serving in the Relief Society.
Born in Redding, California, she is the oldest of Mark and Jean Eubank’s seven children. She served as a full-time missionary for the Church in the Finland Helsinki Mission and received a bachelor’s degree in English from Brigham Young University. After graduation, she taught English as a second language in Japan, worked as a legislative aide in the U.S. Senate and owned a retail education store in Provo, Utah.
Since 1998 she has been employed by the Church’s Welfare Department, helping establish LDS employment offices in Africa and Europe before directing the Latter-day Saint Charities' wheelchair initiative. In 2008, she was also asked to oversee humanitarian work in the Middle East as the regional director of Latter-day Saints Charities. In 2011 she was named the director of Latter-day Saints Charities worldwide. She believes serving others is “the very DNA of being a member of Christ's Church” and the heart and soul of Relief Society.
Sister Eubank served on the Relief Society general board from 2009 to 2012, chairing the Relief Society presidency’s Public Affairs committee. She has also served in numerous ward (local congregation) and stake (diocese) leadership positions, most often as a teacher to men and women, youth and children in the Church’s Sunday School, Relief Society, Young Women and Primary organizations. She loves history, homemade pie and crossword puzzles. She has a strong testimony of the happiness that comes from following Christ.

This was a great talk! I love the idea that our covenants are like boats, and that as we honor and keep them, we can become more and more capable of helping others "cross the river." That's a great visual and a great way to get more outward thinking when it comes to our covenants with God. Thank you, Sister Eubank!

    Sharon,
Your talk encapsulated why I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. ❤
I want to send this to everyone i know as a gift- of testimony- as to why i belong to this amazing and true church.
You packed so much truth into a relatively short presentation. Your many hours of preparation for this talk has blessed my life, and your lifetime of preparation has blessed millions around the world!
I was prompted several times to click on your talk but felt I was "too busy" to listen. This morning, I needed some spiritual food to propel my day forward.
Your talk came up again, and i selected it. I'M SO GLAD I DID!
Thank you for the spiritual transfusion... I'm READY TO GO FORWARD! 😊
(My sweet sister Angela knows and loves you and tells me how much she admires you. Im glad she directed me your way.
Also, love and miss your dad on the weather.)
    God Bless.

This wonderful talk reminds me of President Boyd K. Packer's talk, Spiritual Crocodiles. It is a classic talk from the 1970s that has remained in my heart all these years. I think he'd be pleased.

You do not need religion to have a relationship with God. Your relationship with your heavenly father is so personal, there should be stronger than any man-made religion. I'm not saying you don't have to be religious but most relationships that are real start in the heart and soul of the person. From personal study and experience just saying.
