What an excellent early film with a very young Cary Grant! Not quite the leading man & household name he would
soon become...but,here he shows definite potential! His perfect comic-timing,his inner pathos,etc...he showed his range from the dramatic to comic even back then! A great cinematic treat!

Dana....you would be surprised just how many stars had bi-sexual liaisons including Paul Newman, Tyrone Power and also John Wayne. Many, many more than what you realize. And if they were not bi, they had numerous affairs or were cross dressers. The very reason why that type of person is attracted to that profession. Sodomy is rampant in Hollywood....always has been.

One of the best screwball comedies Grant made is "The Awful Truth," with Irene Dunne. He made a few movies with her, like "Penny Serenade," a bit of a sad one. He never made a bad movie. "The Philadelphia Story" with Katherine Hepburn and Jimmy Stewart are fabulous. He was gifted, but never got enough roles showing off his diverse acting skills. Genius.

Thank you for sharing. I hadn't seen this movie in a long time, in fact I don't think I saw all of it before. so I am excited to see how it ends. I also like to see this other movie with Cary Grant and Ethel Barrymore playing as his mother and he left the mom n pop's little store and joined a gang but saw how cruel and ruthless the gang was so he tried to break away but the gang leader went after his girl friend and then my damn tape ran out... Speaking of.. I cant understand why in the hell they cant make a VCR where you could hook up an external hard drive or a SD card to it and record shows that way? I've looked into it n they are either so expensive that one cannot afford it or if you have a cable box it's got a 40 GB HDD which sucks (and you cannot transfer shows anywhere) you can get a TB for 60 bucks... or like that stupid Tivo you have to subscribe to a service and pay monthly fee on top of paying 4 an internet connection so the technology is either not there or is, but in the hands of greedy idiots. So I don't get it? why cant I use a memory stick instead of vcr tape??

Very dizzy movie. Cary Grant is like a normal guy caught in an over-actted nightmare! All the others are trying too hard to "Act" while Cary steals the whole movie being a normal guy. His talent exceeded this movie. Great man in movies and I'm sure in life!

The absolute winner (by leagues over all of us humans) in the history of this planet.
Carey Grant was and remains - the Grand Slam, World Series, Planet Champion of Humans - in every category - Goodness and Perfection...
    ...and he was a "Hottie"!
    Mercy :-D
Note: (not including the likes of Jesus, I feel bound to mention - as I don't seek to set off controversy - Of course Jesus is in quite a league of his own and for what I know/understand of Buddha as a man that sought to teach masses of humility, spiritual balance, and goodness, very similar to Jesus's example through his life actions), I am referring to the rest of us -
