The whole time I was pulling that thing out I was just scared to death that it was gonna get me like I said please don’t get me. Please don’t get me. Oh my God please don’t get me. Yeah I was scared for real. That was real fear from Grandpa.
I don’t like messing with glass! At least you got paid to take them buddy! And got some free metal and another person to call you to pick up some more scrap! Getting paid to pick up scrap buddy and take it off and make more! It all adds up buddy extra money in the pocket! Another great video buddy!
I was thinking about that back window when you rested that handlebar against it and thought better. And the worst part about the wheel barrow was he didn't want it to go with you. I remember that one well. And also losing your lift jack at the scrapyard that day. I've learned alot from the book of hard knocks as well.
My Dad was the fastest shingler I’ve ever seen. He wasn’t much of a Dad but he was a great roofer. I think meeting you was a God sent! Roofing and scrapping, my two favorite things lol😅
@@ScrappingwithGrandpa Yeah he got really fast because when I was little, before nail guns, he got paid by the square. He did storm repairs and he got paid by the squares. He could nail as fast as a nail gun. It was amazing. I’ve tried but kept hitting my fingers
My fingers are beat up because of hand nailing. I did it for years and years before the guns came out and even when they did, I kept handing because I thought it was better until I realized I’m not sure I can keep up with them guys so I started using a gun, but I always made sure the pressure was never above 90 pounds, that is recommended for shingles
Hey grandpa I know it's nice to be reliable to a guy and feed him lots of jobs. But a few friends of mine who do a lot of contracting jobs will keep a few subcontractors for each kind of work to keep the pricing competitive and fair all around
That’s not inflation that’s greed my friend! He’s trying to take advantage of you. That’s crazy. I remember my Dad roofing for $20 a square for shotgun roofs. He made a ton of money. Yeah labor has gone up but not that much
I have to agree. I normally paid them $125 per square to remove and put back and now they want $185 per square to takeoff and put back that didn’t make any sense at all to me so I have a new guy starting Monday.
@@ScrappingwithGrandpa That’s good! Yeah I seen you have a new guy starting. That’s good,at least you won’t be getting taken for tons of money. When people give you work, maybe they’ll learn to appreciate you!
👍
