With some of these sharp broadheads deer sometimes get shot and they run a few yards and look around like nothing happened. I have had a few do this then they take one step and flop over. When shooting with a gun they bolt until they can't run anymore.
Thats one of those amazing times hunting that you'll never forget! I'm sure there will be other awesome hunts for you. 2007 was an awesome year hunting and fishing for myself. It started in april when i shot a Michigan record book turkey, a week later i caught my biggest brown trout, 25" 6lbs. On opening day. July i received a letter from Michigan DNR informing me that after 25 years of applying, I drew an elk tag!!!! I shot a 5×6 michgan bull elk from horseback. Didn't have time to dismount from the horse and took the shot from the saddle!!!! That was August. October, i shot another turkey in the fall hunt. All of that in 2007. Shockingly awsome year...my personal best. Wishing everyone a future of great hunts. Ralph, son of Michigan.
In the 50 years of hunting moose, we've had 9 moose taken by grizzly....we've been charged and attacked by grizzly....Like Tuco said one in the movie The Good Bad and Ugly "if you need to shoot SHOOT...don't talk"
That's a really awesome story and an even better experience. The things that God shows us Hunters in the woods, will never be appreciated in the same manner as others, so as a Hunter I can safely say "THAT was AWESOME"
God??? There is nothing holy in this. It's abomination to God and The Holy Spirit. You kill God's creatures not to feed your family, but for fun, idiotic smiling photos with your "trophies" and likes from fellow sadist on youtube. Pathetic!
Last year I left a descent 10 in the woods to deal with Thanksgiving (I'm single father with custody of 2) and when me and deddy got back to the woods a bear had drug him off the hill in the duck swamp, we backed out and the next morning it wasn't enough left to drag out, she had 2 cubs with her is why they eat so much! I cut the horns off he was 16 n a quarter inside anyway, made me stick to my saying, when you gun hunting shoot as long as you can shoot and if shot is good get him quick! This deer was hit twice and ran maybe 80 yards from the field, and we were gone that night at most 3 hours but I wasn't positive about the shots and intended to give him a little time! In Southside VA
Such a unique story. You handled that situation wonderfully in my opinion. I’m not sure I would have been able to hang in there and film the whole situation to boot. Great job! Thank you for sharing that.
Awesome story! A handful of years back, I filled my combo license in one day. I shot a 7 point on opening morning with my shotgun, and a bigger 8 point in the afternoon. It ended up being a gut shot and as an un-experienced hunter, I jumped it from where it would have died and went asking for permission to track and recover, then returned about 11 pm. In the meantime, it had snowed 3-4” and all my blood trail was covered. Luckily for me, a critter (coyote likely) had dug up the blood trail and it was like following the yellow brick road to my big 8! He was still hanging on for deer life (😉) when we found him. I took him out and we never lost any meat to the critter.
Now I just need to draw a bear 🐻 tag and get one. If i do get a bear...I'll have the Michigan big game Grand Slam. I've got a 11 point whitetail buck, 5×6 bull elk and last tag a bear 🐻.
I had the exact same thing happen to me …. I stayed in the tree for a bit after I shot a doe hoping a buck would come along..An hour later I got down “after the bear had visited my Treestand”, and went for my deer…The bear was already chewing on it…I had a HELLUVA time convincing him the deer was mine…I finally got him off the deer and started dragging to the truck…The bear followed me most of the way and I had to stop and try to scare him off again…What a nightmare…
Why not shoot the bear? I'm pretty sure in most us states it's legal to shoot animals that are destroying your property, the deer, or threatening yourself.
@@roosterqmoneyHaving it on film perusing your kill would cover your ass. Big bear is a second threat to safety also. Tag the big bear and deer. Notify DNR/game warden of situation. They may even issue you a special second bear tag.
That's pretty wild. We have a lot of bears around my cabin in MichiganAnd I've never seen that happen or had it happen to me. Also I've only seen beairs once while snow was on the ground in my area. The bears usually hibernate about a weekBefore the average first snowfall which is November 15th, Which also coincides with opening day of gun season and the peak day of rot in Michigan according to the DNR. The latest I've ever seen a bear is November 7th while in my tree stand. This is a wild experience you've captured on film, pretty rare Also. Great video, great experience
I had that happen to me in Pa. I captured it on film as well. Only it was early Season and the flies got to my deer before I could get the bear off it.

Hello, I hunt Pennsylvania and shot a buck this weekend. We tracked in the dark for ways before giving up and taking up the track the next morning. The next morning we came onto a fresh dead buck completely consumed. All that was left was a small cap of his skull, his antlers and the cape, from his head to almost his tail. I know of a big sow and 3 sub adult cubs that are in the area. I am intrigued by your video. When i came up on the kill i could’nt believe it was my deer and questioned myself if it was some other deer. Did you ever find any remains of your buck? I am shell shocked. In 12 hours they consumed an entire deer. Is that what u experienced also? Anyway great video! Really enjoyed it!
I know on nice days sometimes bears will come out of the dens but for there to be snow and two bears running around yikes. Usually they would be hibernating by the time snow falls.
I wonder, have you tried to retrieve it using a software call Recuva? You may find it that way, but the file might be corrupted, but there's probably software out there that can view what's left, like VLC. If you can view it you can record it.
