      It wouldn't be unfair to say his 7 title is some what tainted since he started winning with cars using sequential gearbox whereas before him, Senna was winning with manual gearboxes.

      Err, yeah it would. Everyone was using those gearboxes when he won his last title, plus it's not his fault the sport developed in that way. Still takes the same skills to succeed, whatever the technical specification of the cars.

    Schumacher is the stuff that legends are made of, truly. People can say whatever they want about his records and how he stands up against the likes of Prost or Senna, but the numbers say it all. He is the best, and he's such a lively, human character who I can't help but admire. It's a terrible shame what has happened to Michael, but with recent news indicating that he's getting closer to waking up, I'm hopeful and excited to see the man give his trademark smile and wink again one day. You are the best, Michael. Achieve one last victory for the fans, your family and, most importantly, for yourself!

    • @bighimey
      @bighimey 10 лет назад +8

      If you actually understood what he was talking about, you'd agree with him that numbers don't say it all. He's one of the best for sure.

    • @KSCKris
      @KSCKris 8 лет назад +2

      I think the numbers say it all and not. Why I think it I don't know suddenly but Michael's behaviour his humanity and his intimacy are inceridble. I mean that's why we say from him: The god of F1. In fact these are the main stuffs in F1 not the numbers in my opinion.

    • @bighimey
      @bighimey 8 лет назад

      +Kopcsa Kristóf Only a fan blinded by his own devotion would make such an absurd comment. The only "incredible" thing about Michael's "behaviour" was that it was often incredibly bad. Like I said, he was an exceptional talent but, "the god of F1", is only a title someone as deluded as yourself would impose.

    • @KSCKris

      +ΣΔΜ Hamilton is flying from himself and Alonso is similar and the huge piece of the grid is similar except some people. I did not say Michael also had his tricks but who cares? Everybody has their own tricks. My question is the following: Am I the "blinded" or everybody else? as you said.

      Of course Schumacher can say that. But in modern F1 you can't have the resources Schumacher witnessed with his team. They were able to test at Fiorano day in day out. If there is a dominant team (RedBull 2010-2014) and Mercedes 2014-2020 there is nothing a driver can change about that. Alonso was not responsible for the bad decisions in 2010 at Abu Dhabi, neither was he when he put up the best performance ever in 2012. As we seen, Schumacher could not do shit when he went to Mercedes, since he did not had the opportunities to test continously at a private track. So according to Schumi's logic, he failed miserably at Mercedes. Not only did he not put up a good performance but he failed to make the car faster.

    • @badm.d
      @badm.d 3 года назад +20

      @@jimmymagic2438 your take on this is really wrong.... Schumi helped develop one of the most dominant cars in history and it definitely wouldn't have happened without him. Vettel has proved now that he can help develop a completely off pace car to be better, so has hamilton and and so do most champions. Alonso has always expected a fast car and has only ever complained and bitched making it harder for the team. Not only that he actually had a good car with ferrari and he under performed multiple times. To say that him being stuck behind a slow renault for 30 laps and not being able to overtake was somehow the teams fault is a joke, he even tried to blame renault. I watched it live, vettel on the other hand mad two of the drives of the centuries to win two of those four championships and hamilton with mclaren was just amazing. I have always loved alonso and think he is the fastest driver of all time, but he has squandered his career and he has always been bitter about others success.

    Oh Michael, you slay us.
    Michael is humble. I have to admit his dominance in the early 2000s with Ferrari really tainted the sport and its fanbase by virtue of being so superior to every other teams. You couldn't really say he had many competitor; it was Michael vs the stop watch and the rest vs themselves. As an example, the current championship with Mercedes and Ferrari competitive racing this year and emblematic of a competitive sport.
    I liked the part where he said the development he did was bearing fruit when they started winning and using the gearbox analogy and as long as his team appreciated his efforts that's all that mattered. The man has so many records, he doesn't need to prove anything to anyone.

It was difficult enough matching him on track, but the work he did off track to assemble the best people and subsequently help guide the team towards the shared goal of world titles basically made him impossible to defeat when he got it right. No driver comes anywhere close to MSC where the off-track work is concerned. All the best to Mick as he approaches his senior career.

    Was never a fan of him in his earlier years due to some of his questionable moves and pretty aloof character (to the uk press atleast), but I respected his skill. During his Mercedes years I thought he was much more open and I certainly warmed to him more. Also he showed how much he loved to compete and his love for F1 when he came back. Respect.

    People must learn more about his career with teams because he’s remembered with wins but they forget that he made those wins happen by teamwork. Benetton, Ferrari and Mercedes. He helped the teams on and off the track. Too bad that Ferrari didn’t keep the trip spirit.

    Real racing drivers have the killer instinct. Nothing matters but winning.
    Michael, Senna, Lewis all from the same mold. Ruthless, not happy with second place, not having moral compasses at times.

    To me he is the GOAT. Understanding how much the team has to play is very important and taking your responsibility as a driver is just as important. Like Richard petty in Nascar it is hard to compare drivers nowadays to those who came before. Most people don't know that king Richard had to race on dirt tracks to win his championships just as Michael had to race with certain disadvantages in his time.

    Best teammate you could have. He will work tirelessly to improve the car with the mechanics, and he will always give 100% on the race track. You also have an incredible opportunity for improvement since you get to watch how the car is driven at 100% by arguably the greatest to ever touch a steering wheel.

    2:15 THIS is what makes Schumacher the greatest ever. Alonso sure had similar talent perhaps but he was absolute crap at team building and didn't take the responsibility to get involved behind the scenes to assist with working to achieve what was necessary.
    Schumacher was hugely talented both on and off track.

    • @DanielDimov358

      Well Vettel is better at team bulding but worse at wheel to wheel racing...LOL

    • @jimmymagic2438
      @jimmymagic2438 4 года назад +1

      Schumacher didn't build the team, this is a myth that everybody repeats brainlessly. Todt, Brawn and Rory Bryne build the team. Michael at the time was the best driver and and happened to be part of Ferrari. Without the guys I mentioned Ferrari would look as bad as they do recently.

    • @jimmymagic2438
      @jimmymagic2438 4 года назад

      Roland Orbán you mention alonsos under performing teammates, but then proceed to act like alesi and berger were any better. Massa, trulli, fisichella or raikkonen are all even to Alesi, berger or barricheo, if not easily better drivers. Raikkonen and Massa definitely are. Schumacher never had a strong teammate, only his brainless fans think he had. Thats why he ran away 2007 to not be in a team with Kimi hehe.

    • @jimmymagic2438
      @jimmymagic2438 4 года назад

      Roland Orbán trulli was fired by briatore not alonso. Alonso was overall faster then trulli but less experienced. He finished on equal points with hamilton even though everyone sided with hamilton. Hamilton is now a six time world champion
      Meanwhile Cheatmacher had Barrichello and other average drivers. All titles with an OP car, and if not he cheated his way to win (Hill).
      What happens if a driver overall more talented than Cheatmacher faces him, we witnessed in 2005 and especially 2006. schumacher stood no chance against the clown you mentioned. And then he retired because he acknowledged that too many talented drivers were around which meant no easy titles haha
