    The coffee cup comment had me cracking up 😂 I would agree with transmission it could definitely be better I've also experienced it not wanting to go into gear at high speeds. Add the Perrin shift stop definitely helped with the feel and 1st to 2nd engagement.

    I have 4300mi on my ‘23 Limited, my 5th Subaru, coming from an 02 wrx wagon… absolutely love this car and zero remorse whatsoever. The first start sounds way better than demoed or appreciated here.

    Good review. Lots of info. I'm about 6'4. I hope I can fit cause I am about sold on the WRX.

    The VB is awesome for everything you spoke about in this video. I love my Wrx I did plenty of research before buying it and I came across the same type of hate. But seen it in person test driving it I couldn't help but to pull the trigger. Like you said every car has issues specially nowadays there isn't a car on the road. For under 40,000 all wheel drive with great aftermarket support you can't beat it.

    Hit the nail right on the head ! Before buying my ‘22 I was actually on a waitlist for the new GR86. Waited a year for a car that never came. Other dealers wanted ADM (this is at the peak of crazy prices). Walked into a Subaru dealer, asked the salesman about the new WRX. Within half an hour we were on the configurator and I put down a deposit same day. Exactly 3 months later I had my car in my exact spec. Loved the buying experience too. Honestly this car is a crazy value for what you get !

      I shit you not I had nearly the same experience with my new WRX. I was in the market for a new car and my dad checking out a Subaru dealership when I was at work, turns out they had only one 6 speed manual available across my province (I’m in Canada) and it was a sport in dark grey. The exact colour and trim I would’ve wanted if I could’ve specced it myself. I put the deposit beginning of November last year and the keys were in my hand at the end of January. The saleswoman and sales manager were incredible to deal with and the dealership itself was amazing. I absolutely love this car and with all the things you get it’s the best sports car for the price right now.

    1) kuhmo tires are the only cheap tires I trust. 2) thise super low mileage used WRXs are likely leased. And those kinds of people don't really understand what these cars are for.

    So what sold me on a Subaru …. The winter performance living I. Central ME … now after owning 3 legacy’s , and a 3.6R outback … I finally made the move to a WRX … 2 factors . All wheel drive , and a manual!!
    Now being a wrx owner a d part of a massive awesome mod community… never been happier!

    Nice review, thank you.
    I have a 22 WRX with about 10,000 miles on it. Love the car, I have fun driving it. Previously had a 2020 WRX.
    Did have the factory OEM battery die after 6 months of ownership. My battery tester wouldn’t even read the battery and it wouldn’t take a trickle charge (dead cell). That and a squeaky drivers side rear disc brake thats loud are the only annoying things I’ve encountered.
    Have an Cobb Accessport with a tune from Boosted Performance tuning. No other engine mods at this time. Totally changes the way the car drives and performs. Would highly recommend it to someone that wants better throttle response and a little more boost / power (also revs to 6500 RPM’s now).
    I have no regrets with my purchase and would recommend one to anyone looking for a fun, quick (not fast), manual transmission, all wheel drive car. Can’t touch anything new like it for the price.

    I got mine i had put deposit and car was still in shipping on way sapphire blue premium 6 spd .. its been especially cool for me to get the exact car i wanted and nobody ever test drove it other then me day i picked her up ❤
    I agree with everything you said
    I also say though i owned a jcw mini Cooper and a 2012 mustang gt 5.0 manual
    Both those cars felt really fast but my wrx feels just about as quick to me but i get more joy from the wrx as a complete package and how the car feels like a jack of all trades and does them all very well
    Vs the mustang or mini Cooper jcw kinda had more a specific zone of things they are good at.
    Just my opinions

    The GT CVT is awesome shifts really fast and yeah I like manuals but for a daily for my 16 year old it’s a No Brainer

    FYI, Perrin performance and Cobb make shifter stops, it will improve your manual transmission driving experience. Super easy installation. Less than $100 as well.

    Hi -- excellent video. Any idea the best way to update the soiftware on the infotainment system? I've tried WiFi and 3 hours at the dealer with no luck. Thanks

      Honestly, the best advice I have for that is to pull the car in the garage halfway. That's kind of what I had to do. I'm more or less pulled up the car next to the wall where the Wi-Fi router was and typed in all the Wi-Fi information and password and then it took the car darn near 15 minutes just to download everything

      Realistically, you're more than welcome to do just about anything with the vehicle :-) obviously the postmark answer would always be follow your manual but if you're looking at doing some sort of changes or modifications to kind of personalize and customize the vehicle, the one thing I've always stayed away from due to bad experiences is anything dealing with electrical work. That includes anything from the sound system to underglow. I've just personally never had luck dealing with electronics.
      As far as some easy peasy silly little things you can do to kind of get some more find out of the car, anything cosmetic is more than welcome! You should feel free to put an STI Wing or anything you want on the car.
      On the mechanical side of it, though, the one standard thing I see everybody do is at least put in a cold air intake just for the tiny HP boost and better gas mileage.
      Outside of that, you start entering that "needs a tune" area. And anything with forced induction has a shorter lifespan. So anything increasing the force of that induction is more or less just chopping more and more off of its life span. So I would leave just about everything stock if you want to run this car for 10 years plus (and over 100k miles) for sure. But if you plan on getting rid of the vehicle before 70,000 Mi and before its 7 years old, you should feel free to put as much performance-based mods you want just make sure you don't avoid the warranty if you did purchase an extended one.

    Definitely not the odd occurrence. Personally know a guy who has a brand new BRZ 2023 and engine blew up regular driving at 15k miles, oil pressure issue. I was so close to ignoring the stories and getting a GR86 and that changed my mind that this oil thing is real.

    What drove me to get a WRX where these points.
    1. A manual transmission was available
    2. The price point was great for the looks both in and out.
    3. The performance you got for the price is rather unbeatable.
    I have owned BMWs, Hondas, and have driven others alike. The WRX felt amazing in corners and extremely stable. It also just fits my current lifestyle much better. I have a premium model in the Magnatite grey. The black cladding looks amazing on it. I'd like to say it makes it look slightly more aggressive, which is nice. Personally, i have also always liked WRX's, but they never really drew me in like this one did after a while. Yes, the Subaru community is also really welcoming. Every time there is another WRX or an STI, we always give each other a peace sign or wave.
    The head gasket issues and others like that can be poor maintenance by the owner. You're right. WRX owners will ramp the car and run it hard and not care for it. Keep up the general maintenance, and you'll be fine.
    People wanted to scare me away from BMW because oil leaks and expensive maintaining cost. In my 8 years of ownership of said BMW, the only thing I needed to replace was my clutch and the starter and a valve cover gasket. Maintain any car well, and you'll be fine. Enjoy your subie. Awesome video. By the way, you've got a new sub.

    Re: WRX's being traded in with low mileage. I think a lot of that could boil down to people being initially wowed by how cool the car is and then once that honeymoon phase ends, they realize their money would be better spent elsewhere. I think the WRX has a lot of charm. It's the closest thing to a 90s car you can buy in 2024, imo. Analog gauges, physical handbreak, mechanical feeling 6 speed manual all packaged together in a AWD turbocharged Japanese sport sedan - it's by all accounts a very cool car. That said, that charm and personality which comes from it being rough around the edges begins to fall on its face as a daily, particularly if it's your only car. Compared to competitors in the same segment/price range (Golf GTI, Civic Si, GR Corolla, etc) the ride is way stiffer, gets much worse MPG, and is lacking in modern technology features that come standard on others. I think for people who initially get impressed by how raw and old-school the WRX feels realize they probably want something a bit more comfortable, fuel efficient, and practical after the WRX's charm wears off.

    Is it possible to have remote start with manual?

    • @order636
      @order636  4 месяца назад

      Technically, yes you can get a remote start installed on a manual transmission vehicle. However, you'll have to make sure that the vehicle is in neutral with only the emergency brake applied in order to use it.

    Those poor rims

    • @order636
      @order636  6 месяцев назад +1

      Believe it or not the rims are actually in perfect condition. All that stuff on there that looks like scrapes is actually the weird Lube stuff they put on it for the tire changing machine. The mechanic just didn't clean off all the residue

    ive had a 2015, 2020 and 2023 wrx. its more than a brand or a badge. theres nothing that feels like a subaru other than a subaru. ive had the luxury of driving g wagons and i just didnt care. sure it was way faster, but it didnt feel like the wrx. when you go in mud, dirt, gravel, snow and ice. i cant imagine another vehicle for the job. its safer than most other cars on the market until super car territory. theyre easy to work on, theres a massive aftermarket. the sound especially on the 22+ wrx is blissful. i also have a 2012 forester that is used as the beater and daily. theres other cars that are better for similar prices but when you want a car that does almost everything, you cant go wrong. especially on a modern wrx 2015 and above.

    • @imoffendedthatyouareoffended
      @imoffendedthatyouareoffended 5 месяцев назад

      also its not rtv thats an issue for the wrx. it was only on the 22 model for the first few. the reason you are seeing many sold before 5000k miles is because people who owned or still own an sti really wanted to like the new wrx as a "new sti" but its different. so they just dont like it. which is fair enough. but alot tried giving it a chance.
