Check out Primus and Glass Animals when you trip. You'll thank me! Oh and Ween too! I tripped to Ween's album called the Mollusk and I felt like I was underwater. Also watched Primus' live DVD called Halluncino-Genetics on acid and it was absolutely made for tripping. If you don't know anything of Primus, the singer/bassist Les is a very talented claymation animator. Many of their videos are claymation and he knows just how to trip his fans out with the visuals, the lyrics, the actual music. Just all around.

I smoked Tame Impala before listening to weed.
Watching this high af, think I’ve worked out the purpose of the video. It is to indicate what tends to happen in a typical relationship when both people are head over heels in love with one another.
The first scene is the two are introduced to one another, girl next door kind if thing and theres a connection straight away.
The second scene where it goes all dark and red is the guy finds out the girl has a partner and is upset (hence the water).
The third scene, the guy can’t get this girl out his head no matter where he goes.
Now the part where they’re at the disco this is like their time to get to know one another and by the looks of it things are going good.
Boom then because Tame Impala was like fuck that lets get straight to the point - the two get married as this can be seen by the gold ring for the mans head and the diamond forth woman’s head.
In the next scene, by the looks of things it didn’t last long as she is no longer with him and things are again red and trippy like a muh’fucker.
Now we see him drop to his knees and mad amounts of drugs rush to him so clearly this is his way of coping with the breakup.
The bit with the EMP on his head I couldn’t tell you whats going on there?? Maybe he’s on a 15 kill kill-streak?
So now man goes to find a release in a prostitute I think and falls in love with her but they both get mad vexed at one another, then they fuck again??
The morale of the video is that relationships are one big mind fuck and don’t fall in love with a prostitute🤯🤯

There can be a different way of looking at it, what I pulled out of it (relate back to the lyrics for context) is that I am stuck doubting my ex because of all the lies I feel that she says, and when she would get mad I felt so trapped, not in control of my own life because of how much she was in control. And when I've had a thought to stand up for myself to have self respect, I could never bring it out as well as I could just by myself, so my thoughts immediately jumped to being sympathetic and apologetic when it was her that hurt me but since I always retaliate and she played the victim, I always looked like the bad guy, but she would mirror that onto me and tell her that I always make HER look bad, there was never an option to resolve a conflict but her persistence to keep me around, and my weakness to remove her from my life was how everything crumbled but still stayed glued together
But I know what you mean trying to relate the story of the song to the story of the video to find it's TRUE purpose, but good songs have always stuck to general feelings that many people can relate to, and this one does it so well

The sense of atmosphere, emotion, and of course musicianship is spot-on across the board in everything they do. Huge props to Kevin Parker for crafting such masterful art that truly transcends any particular medium of expression. Aural, visual, spiritual... Fucking love it. So pumped for this album!!!! In the same vein of artistic expression I myself am a psychedelic rock musician who, like Kevin Parker, records and produces everything on my own.
