This was our very first street interview video from Myanmar and we are so proud of our community for coming together and working with our team to make this video possible. There were a lot of challenges with logistics and translations with the Internet being cut off in Myanmar, but we somehow pulled it off! If you found this video informative, be sure to subscribe to our channel and join the Mogao community, where you can see all the behind-the-scenes on how we pulled this off:

I am 15 years old korean. My hometown is Gwangju and in 1980, we were similar to the situation in Myanmar.
There was a president at the time of the coup. We kept resisting to protect democracy. At that time, the president mobilized soldiers to brutally assault and kill innocent Gwangju citizens. Even young elementary school students. Many people died, got hurt, and had serious trauma. My grandparents and mom remember the situation vividly.
In fact, not only Gwangju but also the entire Republic of Korea resisted the coup and many people were sacrificed. I kept thinking about this when I saw the coup in Myanmar.
I hope Myanmar people cheer up. Myanmar, fighting! 🇰🇷♥🇲🇲

Thank you for your support ☺️ We also had a similar event in 1988 and many people died but it was all in vain unfortunately. This is the third big coup in 60 years and that's why Myanmar people are so desperate to finish this once and for all :( We don't want more 50+ years of dictatorship and sacrifices over and over again. I'm a Burmese working abroad but I'm wholeheartedly praying for them now.. We all appreciate your support really 🙇🏻‍♀️

@Green Vial they have fully controlled in communication operators. The social medias are still blocked and banned in the country to use unless we use vpn although they(the military)made an announcement of banning social medias for a week as of the day they started the coup on feb 1. And the blocked are not lifted yet such filthy liars. And it's been a couple of days, they had begun cutting off the lines in between 1am to 9am. ALSO in the meantime they're cunningly dragging out the civilians who are in a charge of cdm(civil disobedience movement) whether even it's in the broad day light and in the middle of the night! All we got is each other the citizens, the unity! Police and soliders are major enemies lol. Sounds pretty messed up right? Tho we're,the citizens, basically supposed to be under the protection of the military but it's a complete opposite and we really are in danger! They're already shooting at peaceful protest people and who ars staying at HOME peacefully at night!! Mdfks do not really wanna stay quiet and want very a tragic war i guess.

    • @uuuwauwa-4969

@Green Vial also they the military has their own filthy paid fellows to make a fuss, fake protests and to ruin the peaceful protest of people's lives by throwing rocks at the military in the rallies, the point is to make violence among the citizens so that they could detain and arrest the protesters and the ordinary citizens whenever theu could. And yes ofc they do not detain their own man that they send off. Also to make a huge fuss on religions and races to make things easy for them to take over the country completely. Even tho everybody is living in peace whether you're muslim, buddhists, christians or hindus. Everything is in harmony that resides within in Myanmar.

i am once again so impressed with this young generation of people who really seem to UNDERSTAND what terms like pluralism, freedom, and the rule of law actually MEAN when put into practice.
(much more so than most of the people already living in free and democratic countries themselves)
from the way they spoke, wishing for justice but also a calm and analytical approach to the crisis now facing their country, it seems clear to me that they really are true democrats at heart.

As a South Korean citizen, I can clearly state here that more Korean media and people are supporting the people of Myanmar -- I recently heard radio news in South Korea with Burmese in Korea as guest speakers (who are protesting in front of the Myanmar embassy in South Korea). They delivered their message clearly and helped me to understand the situation in Myanmar from the people's view. Thanks to those efforts, many South Koreans, including myself, see this situation in Myanmar as a reminiscence of the Gwangju Uprising (1980) and the June Democratic Uprising (1987): which are two historical uprisings that eventually led South Korea into a democratic system. Do not listen to those stupid RUclipsrs speaking non-sense. Don't let those fake news to let you down. Don't click those videos, don't listen to them, just let them rot. Apparently the people who granted the interviews did not mind having their identities exposed (which makes me respect them even MORE.) But I still sort of wish that the interviewees' images had been blurred out and their voices disguised anyway. If the Myanmar military is bold enough to take over the government, it is not likely they would have problems going after individual private citizens. I too hope that this military dictatorship can be overthrown as quickly and peacefully as possible. The military should protect its citizens from external enemies - it should not be an oppresor of any people, especially not its own citizens.

to everybody at the asian boss team who helped make this video happen, i sincerely thank you from the bottom of my heart. my country is one that you may have never heard of until very recently. we were just a young bird sprouting wings of democracy, but the military cut them off. they are inciting horrible, terrible acts of violence (some i once considered unthinkable) against the innocent citizens of myanmar who are protesting in a peaceful and organized fashion. instead of the police protecting the people, the people must protect each other from the police. our internet is being cut off every single night because the military doesn’t want news like this to get out. they are being backed by russia and china as well. as a result, i have not been able to contact my friends nor family. what am i to do?
honestly, many people have died already. more have been injured badly. i must also mention that the military released over 23,000 high-danger prisoners on death row and drugged many of them to incite violence on the streets.
this is becoming a repeat of 1988, and we MUST not have that again. we will not be silenced again, and we will continue to fight so that we may be the last generation to endure this pain.

@@sambatra6162 It depends on Experiences of different people. Those who are conscientious and sensitive to values, to work against an environment of corruption and selfishness, even aggressive but righteous environment feels comfortable for them. But as u said, > 90% majority are comfortable in a corrupted Democracy, a Democracy which ultimately gives power to sick authoritative beauraucrats, who can allure and manipulate common public and lower class society by providing free welfare things but keeping them suppressed from their mental and emotional independence. This is why Farmers, taking support of Khalistanis who are also sikh farmers are protesting in India against Farners bill, which is favoring nothing but private corporatisation of Agriculture too.
Anyway, Mother Nature knows whats the best balance for human evolution. Which is why people like Trump are losing in US and nothing could be done against nations like China, NK communism even though Human right breaching is happening against Uyghur muslims. But as long as majority chinese and NK people are comfortable with their goverments, Mother Nature is fine in such evolutionary ways too, that puts some seeds of virtue as long as its reasonable in terms of human rights of all there. What social media spreads is purely for their economic superiority and they donot have faith in Natures laws and should not be trusted blindly.
