Not sure it would have helped but the A-4 has the roll rate to attempt the "Focke-Wulf Flop". This entailed rolling erratically with some changes in direction to throw off gun solutions employed by online players flying the Fw 190 in IL-2: Forgotten Battles/1946 way back in the day.

This is why it always confused me that they never gave the A4 an afterburner.
It’s not designed to be a dogfighter, it’s made to drop bombs.
The A-4N on the other hand was the sigma a-4
