Adam great to hear about your growth as a self employed gardener and your sticking to your boundaries. I am 17 years self employed fully booked and filtering out customers that do not suit my programme✌️ Damien from Cork City
Good advice, I'd of mentioned the factors of timing jobs an working out expected income, cost of the job, which machinery I'd used and location are all things that can be considered for myself in quoting. I like your explanations an appreciate the content lad. Thank you.
You could charge for plants you’ve sown yourself or for dahlias that need splitting, rooted cuttings that are easy to strike, strawberry runners are simple too
Another good video Adam! I'm two months into my garden maintenance buisness journey, work's picking up fast! Thanks for the advice and tips, i enjoy your videos
@@TheGreyGardener1990 Thanks man. Been following your journey. My gig is just for personal enjoyment and not a hard graft job like yours. Love your and Rob Maxwell's #VanCam chats ✅.
@@TheBeginnerGardener cool man. My channel started out as an allotment channel before I started the business. They are some of my most viewed videos. Searchable videos are what you want really, those that answer a question. Any advice just give me a shout
Some good advice there.. It is a horrid feeling when you are asked for a price give what you think the customer will pay and they immediately smile and say 'that's fine!'.. Grrrr
Nice video. Mate, 💚 I priced a job up at 120 for next week, and i could have got 150 easy 😂 thats Mr Cheese being too keen at the start of the season😂 Loved the very end of the video😂 See you on the tv again soon! Steve 🧀 Hope you have a great season
Right to say be careful about little “extras”. I’d be more than happy to go the extra mile for some good, friendly & appreciative customers. Others would take a mile if you offered them an inch! They’re usually the types who undervalue what you do & are clueless about your business costs…or couldn’t care less. It’s a case of judgement…which (hopefully) comes with experience.
Problem is mate The amount of little scammers about! Gives us all a Bad name! Same in The Arb game mate 2 many unqualified numptys! It's a Tricky time to say the least. ATB lad 👍
Hi I did for the first time last year. Smashed a conservatory door. Accidents happen! Felt annoyed at the time but customer was very understanding and the panel got replaced.
I assume app would be easier but I just use paper. Rarely hand out invoices unless they ask or if its a business/landlord obviously. Sometimes I'll email them

Thanks for the video Adam, I'm just over half way into my first year full time and your advice is always very helpful.
Thank you for your insight it's much appreciated.

Do this all the time!
@@garethcumming667 I don’t blame you, especially if you enjoy the process of seed sowing, taking cuttings and chopping up your shrubs to make more
👏👏👏
100% definitely 👍

Thanks to you and a few others and your combined inspiration I've started my own RUclips channel today 🙏.
Nice one mate. Depending on your goals, it can be a big slog but so rewarding too. Best of luck with it 👍

Yes you could be right mate
Have you broke any windows strimming? Did one today on big job and it ruins your day lol
Not yet. I'm waiting for the day! 😬
Hi I did for the first time last year. Smashed a conservatory door. Accidents happen! Felt annoyed at the time but customer was very understanding and the panel got replaced.
@@mattjaggard7937 did you pay for the replacement or go half with customer? My customer was very understanding aswell.
15 years never broke one lol
Believe it or not it can be avoided by observing your surroundings prior to strimming, any risky areas the edging shears are out .
Best way to get more money is to expand your business.
Thanks for the advice mate! Is it better to use an invoice app or just paper booklet? The paper side of things as an absolute weakness for me 🙈
