I am no sort of musician, but this extraordinary analysis of Herrmann's Vertigo Prelude is phenomenal. This is my absolutely favorite score. I listen to parts of it every single day, accompanying a 10,000-image photo slide show I watch every morning. To see and hear some of the individual instruments separated out of the score was fascinating and very interesting... really the essence of what a score analysis can (or should?) be. Bravo.

Excellent analysis that breaks down the underlying compositional processes very clearly. May I ask what sample software you use for your isolated examples David? The solo violin trills passage in particular is unusually convincing.

You may find interesting the sounds of selected instruments in this piece which I did using MuseScore. As in every good composition, there are layers of sound hidden there buried under the louder passages: ruclips.net/video/suUEINQwcYw/видео.html

Thank you! It was very educational! It was hard to make out his original score, it would be great to take a look at the same score but in any notation software
