    Once again you have given a thoughtful and interesting analysis of this great work. It is very much appreciated as I prepare to conduct a live performance of this work with the Binghamton (New York) Philharmonic on Oct 22, 2022.

    The music is very reminiscent of his soundtrack for Marnie.

      Beyond listening and viewing, I am not too familiar with the Marnie soundtrack. That said, I suspect you are correct and would find relationships. Especially given Herrmann, like any professional, develops his craft and redeploys it on each score, while also trying to refine and grow it.
