Put a fork in Concord because it's done 😂😂😂 I won't be surprised if the studio gets shut down before the end of the year. Great job Sony. You failed Helldivers II with the PSN requirements now this happens to one of your 1st party studios.
I think one of the important takeaways here for other studios - among the obvious that have been mentioned countless times - is that throwing a lot of money at a game will not guarantee that games success. Focus on making a good quality, functional, enjoyable game before anything else. If the game design is repetitive, unoriginal, and/or unplayable it won't matter how much time, money, or 'modern' focus you throw at it. Games are first and foremost a product to be enjoyed.
Feeling so bad for the devs who spent 8 YEARS of their lifetime working on a dead-end project... 😔 As to the game itself, I never even heard about it before but, despising the Overwatch/Valorant/Fortnite genre as a whole, I'm not sad the slightest about this closure. We don't need this many games like those, especially such poor pseudo-AAA like this one. One thing to rejoice about however is this second slap in the ugly Sony's face in a few months. Their aggressive, disgusting corporate storming attempt of the PC market has been backlashing hard on them in 2024 and deservedly so. Shows the world - and the gaming industry - you can't do whatever pleases Your Kingship just because you have endless trunks of cash. They tried to screw the Helldivers community and failed miserably, even though thousands of players still can't play the game because of their incompetence; they tried to shove a flavorless AAA shooter down our throats, and failed again. Even games with a good reputation such as Ghosts of Tsushima don't sell as well as expected because of the disgusting PSN account requirement (I didn't buy it for that reason alone and never will as long as this will be forced on me). In a way, I hope we'll see more such scammy moves being slashed, to humble such Big Corpos and put them back into their rightful place. This year showed more and more players were able to unite against being milked and taken for fools. I do hope the trend continues in the years to come.
I don't know what the state of the game is or why people don't like it. Hell, I'd never even heard of the game until this video. But it may not be closed for good. They might have shut it down temporarily to rework the game.
Concord, dustborn, are just the start. Outlaws evidently isn't making sales quotas and AC shadows preorders is way behind. There's just too many good games to play
This is definitely the worst gaming flop in history. Just because of it being a first party game from Sony and it was supposed to be a huge AAAA game that they put 200 million into and literally lost money
Maybe some of that millions could of gone to a new Killzone game, or maybe a remaster and port to PC? It would of made more money than this pos of a game. The suits in these companies obviously don't know their target audience...
History has a way of repeating itself as some might know during the early 80s ET was a game made by Atari and suffered a similar fate except they had truck loads of cartridges and the only way to get rid of them was to bury them in a dump somewhere in El paso Texas. This will really go down in history
Video game production companies...not just some, but most...have been adopting universally bad development practices over the past 10 years. These bad practices often involve changes to the role of developers... - allowing devs to act as product managers - allowing devs to make public statements during development instead of having dedicated marketing/communication personnel - reducing or eliminating dedicated testers/QA people and having devs do the testing And one other major bad practice...spending years creating a single fully-featured product rather than producing a minimum viable product (MVP) and following that up with multiple, high quality updates and expansions. There is simply no way you can take 8 years to bring a single product to market in a world that is changing as rapidly as ours is now. By the time you release, the original idea may very well be outdated and the technology certainly is.
Ill be honest, game had an interesting premise, if they had made it a story driven pve game with coop, it might had some chance. But then it would just be compared to guardians of the galaxy, it would have need a very good story.

How many people do you think got fired for making this game? $300million spent and 8+years in development. Thats beyond Brutal! I know nothing about the game now, nor did I ever hear about it anywhere ever until now. Who was in charge of promoting, marketing , and advertising this game? Think about how many different ways that $300 million could of been spent better
Should've been free to play sale bundles for $5 and $10 good bundles, I might add, and just try to milk the season passes. Borderlands is free on RUclips watched last night
This is not a fumble because they never even had the ball to begin with but arrowhead with hell divers 2 could be one of the biggest fumbles in video game history
I kinda feel bad for the developers. I can understand few of them went batshit crazy on social media... I don't agree with it but I understand. 6 years of hard work down the drain in less than 2 weeks.
4:10 interesting how "Day Before" was quite literally a criminal scam, but Concord seems to be an actual game made in somewhat good faith. Perhaps that's the wrong term, but they were *attempting* to actually create a game rather than stealing from people via lies/misdirection as was the case in "Before." I don't feel that bad for the developers, most were assholes on social media.
What is the song name that you use for your outro and intros? I really want to listen to it
Even 3rd party CD keys sites have completely delisted the game from stores.
I think they’ll revamp the characters, maybe make a few other changes, and rerelease it as free to play.
I hope Sony and other developers who try this understand that we don't need political or ideological bs in our games. Just make a good, fun game. It's that simple.
wonder how long till we hear about the studio being closed.
Gamers aren’t “PC” Trying to make PC games “PC” is dumb. Please stop.
I feel like Sony also killed helldivers with that "mandatory" psn account and ever since the player count has plummeted
They should concord dustborn also.
"bro come on just get the game we'll play it all the time!"
the game in question:
Physical copies are sold at stores...
Those are going to become collectors items.
Freaking crazy moment in gaming!
Since this was 8 years in development. I wonder if they were planning on releasing the game somewhere between 2017-2019 to compete with overwatch. Either way, they clearly didn't stand a chance.
New pronouns: was/were
gone/extinct. XD
Lol I'm trans but this is funny af! 😹😹😹
the day before still kinda stings because i think if it came from a legit development team it couldn't been great but for concord it's really no surprise that it died 🙁
AFAIK, Sony was responsible for everything you mentioned.
They can take the budget that was meant for concord and pump it into HD2
Concord went the way of the Concord
Should've been free to play sale bundles for $5 and $10 good bundles, I might add, and just try to milk the season passes. Borderlands is free on RUclips watched last night
I thought The Day Before was the biggest
that was just an out right scam.
In the wise words of Nelson Muntz, Ha Ha!
From an outsiders POV, this would crush someone's soul. What a brutal day for Firewalk.
@@eliasjabbour31337 💀 whew
What happens if you keep the physical copy for 5 years before refunding?
4:10 interesting how "Day Before" was quite literally a criminal scam, but Concord seems to be an actual game made in somewhat good faith. Perhaps that's the wrong term, but they were *attempting* to actually create a game rather than stealing from people via lies/misdirection as was the case in "Before."
If this WAS the case, please discuss
maybe if they spent there money on quality and game mechanics instead of marketing it could have lived longer
maybe if they hadn't infused the game with woke, it could have had a chance.
Now we need to pull a Morbius and get them to re-release it
They're going to refund people who bought it on steam --- over the next couple of days. Not people who buy it on steam over the next couple of days.
How do you get different fonts in the RUclips title?
Less than a 2 week life is almost impressive.
Is this the new E.T.?
I didn’t even know this game existed.
They should have taken that money and invested in a better game. HD2 did better at launch.
Goes to show how woke Sony is.
I guess people are getting tired of woke garbage. Maybe gaming devs need to pay more attention to fun and interesting game play instead of only caring about identity politics. Go woke, get broke!
Wish I got a hard copy it would have been a collectors item
Bad news for the industry Gamers have grown up, we formulate our own opinions, we make our own decisions and we vote with our wallets and we voted No!
2 days left for a man's game.
Yeah a masculine game for once. Isn’t that crazy.
@@tompohl5764 The God Emperor will guide us one last time.
God the characters are hard to look at or is it just me
Not just you. They made them ugly on purpose to avert what they call the "male gaze". In essence they don't want men enjoy looking at pretty and beautiful women.
If I had a buddy working for the game studio making Concord and he told me about it I would’ve told him how bad the idea was 7 years ago!🤣 couldve saved you 200,000,000$
hope they and other studio learn their lesson by not pandering the game to sepcial audience
