I’m so excited that there are still Fendi’s alive. It’s so weird how you can mention someone who was born in the 1800’s and then say they died and I gasp in disbelief, 😂 🤣
Omg I’m so glad I found my people!! 🤣 😂😂 How many times I have said “ok guys, the founder of the company passed away at the age of 112 peacefully in their sleep after building a billion dollar empire…the loss of life is always sad 😥🥺”😂😂😂
😂😂😂
Thank you Allison for another gem of a history episode. I can’t tell you how much I enjoy this series. Karl keeps popping up! Amazing 💄
Thanks so much Mary 💖
Loved this Alli. Your Beauty History episodes never disappoint. Brava! 😀🤎 Deb
Glad you enjoyed it! Thank you so much Deb 🤎🤎🤎
Fascinating Alli! I knew nothing about Fendi so this was an extra treat. Seeing a whole family of women carrying on such a business is really wonderful. Thank you for your research and superb storytelling!
I totally agree! It was a lot of fun researching them 💓
This story is beautifully told! I really enjoy this series! I can’t wait for the next one!
Thank you so much 😊
Wonderfully narrated beauty history. I love the idea that these 5 females decided not to be competitive with each other and rather focused on each other’s unique talents to work together. Also Karl is amazing at logos! Love how innovative he is
So innovative! His imprint is on so many brands.
As always absolutely incredible and so informative! Enjoyed it a lot and appreciate the research you have done for us! Huge thank you!
Glad you enjoyed it! Thank you so much for your support Elena ❤️
Very interesting video Alli! I am Italian but I didn’t know all the details of the Fendi background! I love that you create videos that talk about luxury brands history. This makes you a unique, smart, beautiful RUclipsr 🤗😘
Oh thank you so much! I’m glad I could introduce new information to you.
Oh so entertaining, again you nailed it! Now I love even more, my FENDI snakeskin baguette and stiletto shoes. The history is everything and cheers to all five women and Charles !
Yaaas! Thank you Catherine 👛👛👛
I love all your videos, but these are my favorite! So interesting, and I like that you do your makeup as you’re talking. This video and a cup of hot coffee makes for a perfect first Friday of every month!! ☕️💛
Oh thank you! I'm enjoying my morning latte currently ☕
Ali, another amazing episode! Fun Furs! Never knew that either. Amazing.....always so lovely. Look forward to these each month. xoxox
Thank you so much! ❤️❤️❤️
I love this series. Thank you so much. I love Fendi! Back in the day I used to wear Fendi parfum. I scrimped and saved until I could afford a small satchel bag and a baguette!. They have since been passed on. There was a time when they were a much more coveted brand.❤️
Oh I miss those days of scrimping and saving for that coveted item 🥺🤩
Allison, another great beauty history video on Fendi! So surprised where the Fendi logo came from and what it stood for. I always learn so much from your beauty history videos. Thank you for all the research and time you put into these videos! Have a great weekend!! 😊❤️
Thank you so much Lora ❤️ I was quite surprised with the logo too.
I really enjoyed not just watching this video, but also seeing your work and all the research you did to make this. Congrats!! 🤩🤗
Oh thank you so much 😊
Yay!!’ Love this series 💕🎉🎶
Thank you so Susan 🥰🥰🥰
Hi Ally- Oh wow- I so enjoyed watching Karl Lagerfeld drawing the sisters and talking about them! :)
Thanks Laura! I really enjoyed that clip too 🥰
Thank you for the incredible work dear Allison! Excellent research and I learn something new today, Fun Furs 😆 Had to be Karl … 💖✨
Aww thank you so much Jackeline! Fun Furs! I couldn’t believe it 😆😆
Allison thank you so much for this, it was very interesting ,xxxxxlu 💗
Thanks Lise 💖💖💖
I had no idea of the female Fendi dynasty! We just hear so much about these companies being helmed by men. I loved seeing it. Side note, I coveted the Fendi Spy Bag for years. I may yet spring for a pre-owned one (since I believe they're no longer being made). Great video!
Thanks Teressa! I also would go the pre-loved route.
allison.Love this brand.History as usual well described.Congratulations! well done with the research made.
Thank you so much! ❤️❤️❤️
I really enjoy these. Thank you.
Thank you for watching.
Another successful and soooo interesting Beauty History review of the House of Fendi 🙌🏻 So informative, enjoyable and extremely well researched… Also loved your makeup look Alli 💖💖
You are so welcome! 😘 😘 😘
Haven’t watched it yet but will during my lunch time!!! ❤️
Thank you! Enjoy your lunch 🥙
What an interesting story! I like the “fingers” directive haha thanks for all the research… and of course, I think I had to rewind so many times as I was too distracted by your make up routine hahaha 🤣
Haha! That’s understandable!
Totally enjoyable
Thanks Laura!
So interesting!
Thank you Marion!
I still have Fendi fur coat🤩 love it, wear it during winter ❄️ it is so warm
Oh how fabulous! 💓💓
Hi Allison, I really go love history and find it amazing how women were actually allowed to take the lead and how far back it goes. Makeup is so evolved 👍🏻
I totally agree! 💓
A very interesting episode. I knew the Fendi name, but didn't even know what they produced. It's great that the daughters took over the company, probably quite rare in those days. I'd love to here about Mary Quant. I'm 70, and was a teenager in the 60's I couldn't afford Mary Quant clothes, but she brought out a make up line. So I could afford that, chalky very pale lipstick, I remember. Many of the youngsters now a days will not have heard of her. But in the 60's she revolutionised the fashion industry. Thank you for all your hard work in producing these videos.
Oh that’s so fascinating! You’re not the first person to mention here on Beauty History.
Deborah! Same age and yes!!! To Mary Quant! Do you remember Biba cosmetics too?
@@christinaoconnell8288 absolutely. I used to go to the shop in Kensington. (I used to live in East London) Do you remember Twiggy and her painted lower eye lashes?
@@deborahmorse8435 Absolutely remember Twiggy … those lashes! I just checked the google and Mary Quant is still around … lots of nail colors! Biba only exists in odd resale bits. At least the look back then discouraged tanning …LOL … probably saved my skin!
I love that clip from Sex in the City! I just bought a mini baguette from Behno, sustainable leather. 😉 Really enjoying this series, Alli!
Ooh how lovely! Good for you! I love SATC, I had to include it.
I just purchased an Emile Cordon lip balm for the first time. My last lip balm was from Sisley - nice - but only helped moisturize momentarily. I hope this one has more staying power under my lipstick. Anyway, also trying the new Chantecaille anti-aging face bronzer gel although the brush I ordered for application hasn’t arrived. I know you’re wearing both of these today, along with Chanel mascara - it all looks great. Now, back to the history of Fendi, which is awesome…
Thank you! I really like both of them, which scent did you order from Emile Cordon? Let me know how you like it once it arrives.
@@AllisonChase I ordered Rose Petal, and will definitely let you know my thoughts!
Thanks!
Thank you so much 😊
Fun fact: Also Maria Grazia Chiuri (actual Dior's creative director) partecipated at the creation of the Baguette
Oh fascinating! Thank you Francesco 💓
Fascinating and enjoyable video Alli. Thank you for all your hard work. I was puzzled by KL comment too, maybe he was saying for as long as people eat meat there will be leather and fur products??? I don’t know…
I’d be interested in knowing more about the Italian makeup company that creates all the lovely formulas for Chanel, Tom ford etc I wonder if that started as a small family business?
Hi Gianna! Yes I think that’s what he meant. If people are eating meat and wearing leather, why do they care about furs? I think that was his point.
I love Fendi! One of my fave luxury brands. Omg I had NO idea the FF logo meant that 😅 it’s so cool to see how the company was built by all 5 sisters.
What’s your fave sweet wine? I love a Sauternes and Santorini Vinsanto. I need to find the Fendi wine now…
Right? Fun furs! 😨😂
Sweet wines, let’s see. I also love Sauternes, it’s so delicious. I’ve recently discovered white Port when I was in Porto earlier this summer. It’s really nice and much lighter than red or tawny ports so try the white if you have a chance. I also love, love, love Pineau des Charentes. Try it, you’re going to love it. I believe it is in the cognac family but I could be wrong.
@@AllisonChase I’m going to have to look out for the white port! When I was studying for my wine certificate we only tried the traditional styles but that sounds like it would be great for summer
@@SofiaSeesBeauty that’s right! I forgot that you have your wine certificate. So fancy 🍷
Would love to see Viven Westwood, Tom Ford, Giorgio Armani💜
Thanks Patricia!
Thanks
Thank you Iman 😘 😘 😘
Brilliant Ali, do you know when Chantecaille new Jaguar/Cougar eyeshadow quads are going to be out here in UK 🇬🇧 😀 love all your videos, thank you 😊 Take Care 💖 Gill 🇬🇧 xoxo
Thank you so much Gill! I’ll send an email and see if I can get any release dates.
@@AllisonChase
Great thank you 😊
I am proud to have 3 Fendi bags now!
I don't do furs though.
Fabulous! 😘
❤️🌹
❤️❤️❤️
I dont mind fur. Not that I can afford any lol. But as long as they're regulated, and ethically and sustainably sourced. Some of those animal groups are just scare tactics and stunts. They're not really educating the public of their arguments ._.
I agree with you.
I never knew Fendi was Female Force (they really should rebrand their slogan once the time comes...). I'm trying to become a conscious consumer and so I am an advocate of investing in quality leather pieces which will last a lifetime, over vegan plastic pollution.
Warning for the text below: contains unpopular opinions.
I never owned fur, only sheepskin and that coat of mine was gifted to me second hand after approx. 10 years of wear, and today it has been in my possession for 14 years and I am pretty sure once I depart this life, that coat will be donated onwards as I rarely see extreme cold winters anymore, so this coat gets used even less.
What I'm trying to say is that, there is an immense use of animal skin and discarding them is silly. I believe we shouldn't hunt for wild animals anymore (but control where necessary! Boars and brown bears are in overpopulation in many areas, where farmers are forced to abandon land because of them! Not to mention when they end up in cities and get traumatized : ( ), neither should we use "rare" furs of said animals. It is cruel and is the worst example of humans taking advantage of being on top of the food-chain.
However (and I am ready to be disliked here), if we're giving the right to certain animals to live (breeding), we have the right to take that life away from them, because that is how we build our lifestyle. Once again - this can be done horribly or cruelty free. I'm sure many of the beauty community members are aware that natural hair brushes are actually cruelty free. It is in the breeders/reserve's priority to sustain a farm and nurture, instead of start from scratch. We've also recently learnt about how snails have a "working shift" to produce mucin : ) Just a few examples.
All this said, I wouldn't go out of my way to wear or purchase fur. But if I was to inherit it, I would take great care of it. I think it is admirable to have skills, where such a piece of clothing, which kept our ancestors warm across millenniums, can become a fashionable piece of art, even. And I respect craftsmanship.
I also think they should rebrand to "Female Force" or something to that nature to acknowledge their roots. And I also agree with most of what you're saying. I wouldn't go out and purchase a real fur coat now, but If I inherited one I would wear it.
Thanks!
Thank you!
Thanks!
Thanks so much Mary 🥰
