- Been a couple days since I provided a vid, so I decided I'd just upload this one.
Lyn takes on Link Arena teams I made from my first and seconds plays of this game. It's the same Lyn from my solo game, in case you were wondering.

I like Lyn, her battle animations just scream badass. Imagine if they givr her that 15% crit bonus.
She should have, tbh. Eliwood got horses and Hector got armored status. Lyn should have gotten the Swordmaster crit bonus on promotion to make things even
Did Lyn get anything after promoting?
Besides Bow usage that is.
@@letsrank9349 nothing really I don’t think. Perhaps a small crit bonus but I think it has more to do with enemies post promotion chapter having 0 luck while she has a lot of luck. She does have the best prf weapon though at least

@@cappuccinogoodfinger That's why I use her even though she's bad, tbh. Would've been cooler if they gave her some bonus crit though. They modeled her after the myrmidon/swordmaster class, after all.
It's funny to look at all the old comments It's just interesting to see how much ideas have changed over time as people learned more over time and realized what's more important on what makes a good unit.
I bet Lyn still has 9 strength haha.

Eliwood would have a tough time hitting Lyn, unless she was wielding the Sol Katti (and why would she be doing that?) and he was wielding one of the most accurate weapons.

+φ First-order logic Mani Katti is a sword of Sacaen legend, just not a Dragon slaying Divine Weapon like Durundal or Armads. Sol Katti is the sister sword to Mani Katti, which would make it a sword of legend as well. So, technically, they are legendary weapon, just not Divine Weapons.

I find myself using her a LOT more than the OH so great Hector, consindering she's fast like hell.

@@charsage1036 yeah, the only reason lyn is winning here is because she was given crazy statboosters and is in the link arena, an environment where speed is much more important than other stats.

I honestly doubt Eliwood would have a chance against Lyn ever. Even if Lyn had an iron sword and Eliwood had a silver.
Cobalt that's just blatant favoritism. They've both got pretty good chances against each other but when promoted eliwood's got lances which overpowers lyns sword and matches her bow.
If by "original" you mean "the first one released to the West" then yes.
Max leveling Hector and Lyndis really pays off in the long run. I can't say the same for shittywood. Man even though I offered him blood sweat and tears to the max him he still dies against normal units. Like what the fuck? Lyn at least dodge/crit/double everything. Hector steam rolls everything in his path. What does Eliwood do that benefit the player really? JACK SHIT! Is the answer

Actually Eliwood is my favorite lord why?Because of his balanced stats Lyn may be fast but Eliwood is fast too.She lacks strenght and con.Hector may annihilate every enemy in the game but low skill + low primary weapon accuracy = low hit.
km tabs A maxed Eliwood even on horse is still inferior to any paladin. So how does he serve any purpose on the battlefield exactly? A Balanced unit is quite boring and useless innit? What a Maxed Paladin does in 1 or 2 hits takes him 5 to 6 hits. How is that useful? Eliwood hardly ever crit or does special moves. He can't even move at the same length as a paladin or even a normal Cavalier .

As you can see Eliwood is sacrificing a bit of defense for a bit more attack.Move?What do you need that for? Running away?
km tabs Even with that attack power he can't use the more advanced weapons which renders him absolutely useless. FYI My capped Eliwood only had half of those stats. Even with boost items he couldn't manage by without a heavy duty unit like a General or Warrior. Move to save either vulnerable units or get faster to a fight what else?
Damn it. Lyn is such a flipflop. One run her strength is like 8-10 in lvl 20/20.
In another she caps strength, skill, speed and luck before victory or death.
The curse of a 40% Strength growth.
40% growth is just about perfect for getting rng blessed,screwed or just leveled up normally you really never know what you get with 40% growths
The Marth game is released in Europe. It's released 18th february in USA.
As for the Roy game, it isn't released outside Japan (or got a remake yet).

well yes, but this is in the link arena, where speed is much more important than most other aspects of a character. hector is better in maingame but in pvp lyn has an edge over him. (also a major reason she won here is because she was seemingly given a load of stat boosters while no one else was.)

@17Master I have never done this personally. So I dont know if its the computer your playing against or another player.
But common sense would say that if somebody is going to be attacking your Lyn, it would be the person who has the highest chance to hit her, not somebody like Hector who had a 20-something hit chance.
But once again, I dont know if this is the computer we are talking about, you playing against yourself, or another person in general

Hector is nerfed.
Lyn's an example of a risk reward Lord done wrong.Everything she does,Rath and Guy do much better and,even after promoting,she's pretty inconsistent due to her 40% STR growth with can pretty much ruin her crit utility(a crit utility that,all on it's own,even fucking Karla does better then due to her innate crit).Personally I like Lyn.She's fun to use but it's pretty much the same as Ayra: You'd be kidding yourself if you thought she was objectively good as a Lord.
Not that Rath and Guy are without their own issues. Rath (re)joins really late, and Guy has a weaker Strength growth than Lyn. If you think 40% is bad, does 30% sound?
Oh,I'm so glad you bring up growth rates into this cause,taking everything into account,they're borderline pointless.
Guy has a lower STR growth,I will concede that,but you seem to forget literally everything else.Guy starts out with not only a better base stat but also has gains that circumvent this problem,allowing him to do modest damage to even Generals(which,in Swordmaster crit language,means fucking them up).I still think that's trash but anyone who has ever payed attention to debates like Priscilla V Serra(which,even without the pony,still ends in Priscilla's favor).And,as for Rath,he can catch up thanks to the abundance of Wyvern units and strong bows like the Killer Bow and more utility based bows like the Longbow to pick off units more safely.
Taking that all into account,the two still manage to beat Lyn.
Guy has a base Strength of 6. While better than Lyn's 4, it is by very little. Neither is winning awards for Attack power, that much I hope we can agree on. Their other stats are pretty similar. Both have blazing Speed and ridiculously high Skill. Both die if you look at them funny. Since you mention Generals, Lyn has a signature weapon for getting around their high Defense (and it has high crit!), while Guy is stuck the Armorslayer cutting into his Speed/Avoid if he wants to do the same. Without relying on critical hits, Lyn deals with them better. Factoring critical hits, Mani Katti's 25 Crit beats out Guy's +15, so Lyn is more reliable, though I would be hesitant to use either of them against a Lance wielding General, which, if memory serves, very few use Axes. They two are pretty even unless we are talking about HHM, in which Guy gets a lot of a stat boosts that put him over pretty well.
As for Rath, sweet, he shoots down one Wyvern, then gets jumped by them on the enemy phase unless the player is actively shielding him because Wyvern enemies tend to come at you in groups. Then the others are killed by your other team members, so Rath never really catches up. While Lyn does not do well against Wyvern enemies due to Lances, at least she can fight them and most other enemies if they attack her first. Rath is a sitting duck. I would not put him above Lyn, at all.
I will admit that the Mani Katti is a potent PRF weapon but it's extremely unviable for the most part due to it's overall usability.Most players in the end would barely even use it while Guy,over there,can just spam Killing Edges and have the exact same effect.It doesn't take a lot of strength for a Killing Edge Swordmaster to shred enemy generals and,most of the time,even regular swords do better even without crits(provided he has support range but that's not really an actual method considering Lyn has that too).And,if you take into consideration the fact that Guy can,usually,tank slightly more then Lyn physically,he does have more on his side to deal with enemies like Generals and Paladins.Either way,both _are_ pretty trash in HHM,so you're right.
I can understand where you're coming from on this so I can concede that he does take way too much time due to nonexistent weaponry but I have forgotten to mention how everything else helps(for that,I do apologize).He can wreck the mages in Kishuna's chapter easily thanks to Kishuna himself and,on average,can gain enough levels to show his stuff in the team(won't lie that he still has trash enemy phase capacity but so does paperbag with hot legs).Even an early promoted Rath can provide a lot of potency thanks to the combination of his okay bases and decent gains and,upon gaining swords,can do really well on enemy phase with his meh bulk and amazing offense.

Yeah I think so too, but the thing is the game basically forces you to use lyn, and I want to use guy/karel but I want all my type of mages and two fliers (I didn't have room for oswin RIP)

As for Roy, he isn't the worst, actually. Marth is, no doubt the worst.
He starts with 0 Res and his Res growth rate is only 15%. Add the fact he can't promote either, but he got a max level of 30 instead.

Using link arena to justify a unit's worth is incredibly braindead. Lyn IS the worst lord in her game, she's cool sure but she's still the worst.
If you play anything other than lyn mode you realize just how bad she is when you can't just feed her kills for 10 chapters (and even then she's still worse than eliwood or hector lol), but feel free to share your reasons as to why you don't think she's the worst lord
@@Uri433 in short, Lyn doubles everthing, is always close or in the 100% hit chance and dodge things reliable. Hector can be better than her but there is no way she is worse than eliwood
@@gabrielbitencourt1879 What a terrible argument. First of all, on anything besides lyn mode her speed isn't that amazing. She has 11 base which is good sure but her issue is base 5 str. She'll be doubling often but doing no damage, while constantly being in danger of dying because she has 18 hp and nonexisten defenses.
She's locked to swords which is terrible, and the same argument could be applied to eliwood except he gets lances on promotion and a horse which is invaluable. Vs lyn who gets bows lol. Not to mention eliwood actually has some semblance of durability and he has better avilability (once again on anything that's not lyn mode)
Lastly you NEED to babysit lyn outside of lyn mode because she's just a walking liability.
And the worst of all is that even in the best case scenario where you're playing lyn mode (which is a terribly easy mode to begin with so unit worth isn't nearly as relevant there) she'll still be worse than both eliwood and hector because she'll still be super fragile, she won't have a mount and she'll be locked to the worst weapons in the game.
This was long and I know but once again feel free to refute this. Also in case you want to bring up that her defenses don't matter because she's a "dodge tank" you can't reliably throw her out to face tank anything that's not axes, her avoid really isn't that great even if it obviously is higher than the other 2 lords

Uh no eliwood much worst... 2nd Ross is even worst cause all he gets is str and hp and yet he is more popular than lyn? And heck guy has lower str growth and yet people like him lol
Also I had seen a video of ameilla getting level from 1-10 from recruit chapter. And nino able to farm from her low level mage to a level 20 sage so?
I mean, she really is a poor unit. Like if you compared her to Eirika for example, Eirika has better bases, better growths, a better promotion, and a MUCH better end-game weapon (the higher might, +5 str, and overall better effective vs bonus and MUCH lower weight when promoted Eirika already has slightly higher con than promoted Lyn already make it not a contest).
And Eirika takes a back seat to her brother in terms of how good she is as a unit.
