    For me, Skyfall was my inspiration to get into shape, or at least look a bit better and get a bit of self confidence back. I was about 43 and found myself a bit overweight, I weighed 14 stone 10 pounds (206 lbs), I'm 5'11" not particularly built muscular wise so I wasn't looking my best. I became obsessed sartorially with the outfits in Skyfall and found myself buying a few items, like the Commando Wax Jacket, brown brogue boots, Omega 300 watch and styled my hair in a similar way. On a family night out I decided to wear those 3 items with a dark pair of jeans and a dark grey jumper with a white shirt underneath then my sister said the words that changed my life from that moment forward "You look like a fat Daniel Craig from that James Bond film a few years ago" and started to laugh. At first I felt a bit offended, embarrassed and wounded, how could my sister attack me like this? Later I come to realise that I had a weight problem that really needs addressing. By the time I hit 46, I dropped down to 12 stone 7 pounds (175 pounds) because I started to exercise 3 times a day, all at home no gym (Gyms scare the hell out of me sorry) Lots of walking, jogging on the spot for 25 mins a day, 20 pushups & situps 5 times a day, a good 20 minute session with my weights, that I later upped to 2 -20 min sessions a day. I was surprised how quickly the weight dropped off, once I got motivated and into a routine. Its sad to say, now 47, I'm pretty much in the best shape of my life.

      Thanks for sharing your story! It must have felt incredible to get in shape and getting the feeling of being doing something for your good as result of the one and only…James Bond. I am also looking forward to get in my best shape ever, I got inspired by skyfall as well! I think this is the right moment to get my desire done, I mean I am 19 years old. I started on this just 4 months ago and I still keep myself on my way to it!

    This is grossly irresponsible. Congrats on the dude losing all that weight but the way he did it is 100% unsustainable. That weight will come back on with interest because the body cannot maintain the end weight because of how it was achieved. Only sweeping, realistic adjustments to diet and regular, and again, realistic exercise will take the weight off and keep it off. In other words, a lifestyle change. But this diet? Good lord. Not sustainable.

      If you consider Bonds role, I think the physic of Connery or Craig makes much more sense...if a "modernised" Bond were being written today, the writer would probably give him a military Special Forces back ground with a very high level of fitness and strength ect which into me means a physic akin to Craig....

    I got into bond shape by having my heart broken and being determined I was not letting it beat me. I (and here is the important word) consistently got myself up 5 days a week for weights,a couple of hiit sessions a week, making sure I didn’t go over 2800 calories and got minimum of 12k steps in every day for the last 8 weeks I wasn’t in bad shape before but the changes have been amazing. I don’t recommend the heart break but find your reason and do the rest.

    Hey David! I just wanted to let you know that it is possible to get Craig's physique without any TRT or anabolic enhancements, I am already at Craig's physique atm sitting at around 12 percent body fat, 5'10ish, and 70 kilograms. I'd suggest doing a caloric deficit and doing bodybuilding 3-4 a week, eating enough protein daily by multiplying your kilogram weight x 2g(or 1.7) of protein. So for me, I eat around 140 grams of Protein a day, but making sure to eat 1,500 calories a day. I also do zero cardio and I lost 5 kg in 3 months.
    Diet plays such a crucial role for achieving the physique, I suggest focusing on lean cuts of meat like turkey breasts and chicken breasts, protein shakes for breakfast.
    As for the workouts, I'd definitely stick to a bodybuilding program. I don't do any functional training at all and just work on sculpting my physique to be like Craig. I also have his shorts too!

    • @AnssiEriksson
      @AnssiEriksson 2 года назад

      Daniel Craig had more mass at least in Casino Royale (if we take his word on it). He was 178cm/78kg which puts his BMI to 24.6. Yours is around 22.

    • @shoheithemoney720
      @shoheithemoney720 2 года назад

      @@AnssiEriksson I'm leaner than him. Craig probably has better genetics than I do, but he has probably been lifting in his late 20s even before he got the role check his physique in Layer Cake, dude's chest was already swelling before he got the role.
      But if you check out his physique in Casino Royale you can definitely see he still has some body fat to shred hence the gutsy six pack.

    Great content as always David! Donny had a great point about building muscle! I came from the opposite side of the spectrum, as I had been a distance runner for 30 years, and had very little muscle. I was at a restaurant on my Birthday in August, about 10 years ago, wearing a Quantum Harrington jacket, just to hide my skinny arms, when I realized I had to do something about it! It is a much faster process to loose weight, as opposed to putting on muscle! I was able to put on 3 1/2inches on my arms and 6inches on my chest, in those ten years, and though I will never be huge, I have more of what I consider a Bond body today. I know that there has to be other guys out there in the Bond community, who are at where I was 10 years ago, and just wanted them to know that it can be done, though it is a long process, though you grow in more ways then physical statue, during the process!

    Fitness is something I love and struggle with. I was REALLY out of shape as a teen, full skinny-fat. Was up at 190 Lbs and hated how I looked and felt, which fed into my poor mental health. Decided to try something, ate better, started exercising despite no idea or plan at 16-17. When I arrived at college a few months before I turned 19 I was down to 138 lbs. I was skeletal and gaunt, but didn't quite realize how much. Started lifting weights, inspired by Bond (Quantum had really jump started my Bond love again). Still wasn't really well-prepared or organized until 2015, but made fitness part of my life. Now I make sure I work out six days a week and eat right.
    My problem is, and I'm open about this, I am too hard on myself. I have serious body dysmorphia and consider myself out of shape half the time. Despite having abs (at that point where some days they're there, others they aren't, which feeds into that). I'm at 175 Lbs now, below my goal weight, but with 10-12% bodyfat and looking better than I ever have in my life. I deprive myself some times or beat myself up for having a bite of a donut. I'm working on it. Right now I'm trying to just live and enjoy now and then. I eat pretty well since I feel better that way. 95% of the time, my diet (roughly paleo, I like wine) is there. I workout six days a week, one day being kickboxing, and one of my jobs keeps me on my feet for eight hours so I move. But I'm still fighting the voice in my head that beats me up for this. Despite exercise being one of my favorite activities.

    Thanks for this video! I have lost weight in a different way- during pandemic I started to eat better at home (without all the restaurant meals and fast food that too much work travel led to) and lots of long walks (about 10km a day), and have lost about 60 pounds in 2 years. I haven't counted calories, but have cut out most of the crap, while allowing myself a bit still of the things I love to eat in order not to lose the motivation. I'm now well into the healthy weight range and weighing less than I have in at least 20 years. My 50th birthday is in a week, and I'll go into it nicely under 200 pounds, when I was over 250 at my 48th birthday. Thanks for the inspiration!

    I loved this video and the inspiration you provided me. I started working out again and know that I can be healthier and look better. My inspiration was also Daniel Craig in that bathing suit. I lost 20 lbs mostly by controlling my diet and skipping alcohol.reducing carbs and intermittent fasting. I would only eat from 11 am - 7 pm. I also followed a reasonable workout alternating strength training with cardio to start.

    Great video. I’m a creature of habit. Food, workouts, whatever - have served me well. That being said, after a shoulder injury I’ve had to retool. In the last year I’ve gone from 220 (thumbnail pic) to 195. Dropped the bodybuilding diet and workouts and pushed in more cardio and cross training. I’m 55 and if I can still do it, you can! Actually liking my clothes fitting better again.

    After 50 it's 100% diet , 2 maybe 3 very brief but intense workouts per week. Bullet proof brekky coffee ... 1 really good meal ( see Shawn Baker) a few hours later.... & the body resumes its natural state of using fat for energy .

    Thoroughly enjoy this channel. Great motivational video. Bought a Peloton about two years ago. Also bought a fancy smancy scale that measures body fat and a whole lot of other metrics. I am 57 years old / 5 foot 7”. Went from 171 lbs and 24% body fat to 156 lbs and 20% body fat. My goal is to weight 160 lbs and 17% body fat. It’s been a journey- not easy. My wife is a fantastic cook , and even though we eat healthier than most folks it’s still hard not to “cheat”, because we are both busy professionals. Thanks for all the content you post, I follow your advice and often get compliments on the way I dress. You are a great motivation ! Speaking of Peloton - time to go ride a few miles . Thanks again !

    Again David this is the best stuff you do because of how many people's lives this affects for the better. I was a personal trainer way back when and I have to say all the information you gave, especially the mental frame of mind, is spot on! Yes 75% of weight loss is done in the kitchen. Calories count but from experience helping people lose weight, I would like to offer an alternative perspective. Sometimes the calorie counting can be too difficult and I have had more success by framing it though managing insulin. Insulin is the trigger for gaining or losing weight. Donnie used fasting and was successful. Fasting can be the key to weight loss. Intermittent fasting, meaning not eating in a 16 hour period is one of the best ways to lose went. The easiest is to skip breakfast several days a week. Stop eating after 8 or 9PM and don't eat till lunch the next day. Choose 1 or 2 days to fast the whole day. The 1st time you do this is tough but it gets easier and easier as you go on. Ketogenic diets are also often successful for people whole love to eat. So cutting out carbs and sugar, again controlling insulin, is very effective and you get to eat a lot of protein and vegetables. The other thing that we did as PTs was not weighing people but measuring their body mass index. We used a handheld body fat monitor to measure body fat percent. I can lose 2 to 4 pounds by sleeping, (mostly water weight) so weigh yourself in the morning not at night. You burn calories while sleeping, plus going to bathroom you shed water weight. I'm not gym guy, even though I've worked in gyms for decades, I don't like lifting or running but I LOVE Kung Fu. I've done some form of martial arts my whole life and I train to stay fit for martial arts. Find a fitness activity you love! That way you will enjoy fitness and not look at it as something you have to doing but something you look forward to doing. I'm not that muscular but I am fit and I'm happy with that. I'm fit enough to do Kung Fu. So tennis, basket ball, etc., find whatever you find fun and you will be fit for your whole life! Thanks David, Donnie and Holden!

      Knowledge regarding weight loss as changed a lot since you were a PT, going by your comment. I don't expect you, nor should you, simply believe a stranger replying to your comment, but please research the caloric energy balance; this determines loss or gain in body weight, not insulin. This was the thought process maybe 10-15 years ago, but research has moved on since then.

    • @jerrymanas671
      @jerrymanas671 2 года назад

      Alex, this is the approach my nutritionist and doctor have both recommended, plus I've been following Dr. Jason Fung's teachings on how insulin is the primary culprit on weight gain. I've been doing 16/8 intermittent fasting, avoiding snacks, and avoiding sugars and foods that spike insulin levels. I find I'm no longer hungry in between meals and my blood sugar no longer drops if I haven't eaten in a couple hours. I use a bullworker 4 days a week and try to get some kind of movement throughout the day. I'll see how it works, as it's a journey, but I've lost 8 pounds so far. I no longer count calories and switched from lowfat to full fat dairy, and increased my protein. When I have bread, I use the Ezekiel bread. And I switched my breakfast from cereals to either eggs or full fat yogurt mixed with muesli, chia seeds, whey powder and berries.

    As someone currently on my gender transition journey I've started to have similar moments or inspiration but I have 2-3 Bond women per film to try and use as general inspiration. But based on genetics on both sides of my family, I'll probably land somewhere between Tiffany Case and Paloma which is kind of a wide range.
