I miss these monster trucks with real body and not going too fast, i like when the crush cars i wish these kind of monster trucks come back soon. This is classic!
I totally agree! The older trucks were just over-grown real pickups. The new ones are too crazy and whacky. I definitely prefer car crushing, and racing over the modern freestyle competitions
I have a picture of myself sitting in the rim of Bigfoot #1 back in the 80's. It had to of been around 1985/86 or so I was 6 or 7 at the time it was great there was a bunch of pictures I have of trucks back then
Awesome trip down memory lane, I had a blast that day at the Silverdome. The crowd was as loud as the engines! I'm grateful youtube does not have limit on how long a video stays online.
I recall those days i miss the old days. They're weren't somemany rules vehicles were made in america (not asia) and people were social. Today with all this technology no one talks anymore they use ipads and i phones.
I use to go to the Silverdome whenever the Monster trucks were in town back in the 80's and early 90's I would go to all the events there that's when he trucks were real bodies they were not all bars and fiberglass it was a real Chevy or Ford Truck and that's what I loved about them days.
wow. look at those fuckin beards. this is, like, uber nostalgia for me. i used to rent this tape all the time when i was a kid, as well as the sequels.
The silverdome was my monster truck childhood during like 2009-2012 or until I became I believe 15 if there was a monster truck rally at the silver dome when I was a kid we would be there then I saw a true full fledged monster jam event at Ford field
dam i remember those days ..... I think is basically the only original truck from back in the day still racing today ... hehe what once started as a promotion for his shop start a billion dollar sport
I'm bummed playskool never released the USA-1 toy. You can see on many promo photos of USA-1 around this time the "Playskool" logo near the end of the box.
I was there that night, dad took us. Silver Dome use to be sold out crowds for tractor and truck pulls. Greaest indoor venue for events this large. I cringe at the idea of Monster Trucks in all the tiny, little arenas of today. Silver Dome use to host Sno-Cross races and moto-cross. Fantastic events, tons of people. Silver Dome is gone now and an Amazon Fulfillment Facility occupies the site. Yawn!!!
True and you'd never see the crazy shit they do now either if it stayed the same. These old trucks would fold in half if you tried to lauch 20 ft in the air
kinda funny Everett and bob really haven't changed much though fascinating how bob was an innovator on these trucks and still #1 40 yrs later .... most of his competition is history hehehe even Everett retired from the sport
Lol those camera people being within feet of the USA-1 crushing those cars were brave and the cars having their windshields installed is something you won't ever see today cause they are obsessed with safety now putting freestyle the most anticipated event of a monster truck show as a purely stunt based that ends as soon as a driver gets a flat tire or when the flip no matter if they saved it I remember when the track was full of cars and campers for the drivers to destroy and they would only be stopped when they lose a wheel completely and when it was more about destruction and carnage while still having loads of insane stunts freestyle now has largely become dull and solely stunt based purely for safety which I'm sure the veteran drivers don't like but still do it
cos these were built properly. actual trucks made big. cos of health and safty crap now they are jst made frames with a crappy little body shells over it
Imagine, one of these trucks being worth more then a modest street full of homes and afew properties back in the day? Buy real estate, never invest in a monster truck!
no bigfoot one is NOT retired it was just at sema HOWEVER the truck in the video clip which was Bob's original truck was dismantled then he made a clone of it in the late 80's which is still touring ..
I miss these monster trucks with real body and not going too fast, i like when the crush cars i wish these kind of monster trucks come back soon. This is classic!
+Anders Isacson gotta admit they look better than those plasters things that can jump, they look like toys nowadays !
I agree with both you guys…110%!
I totally agree! The older trucks were just over-grown real pickups. The new ones are too crazy and whacky. I definitely prefer car crushing, and racing over the modern freestyle competitions
Me too. I like how they crushed cars back then
I have a picture of myself sitting in the rim of Bigfoot #1 back in the 80's. It had to of been around 1985/86 or so I was 6 or 7 at the time it was great there was a bunch of pictures I have of trucks back then
That must have looked cool
Both are beautiful trucks with the shiny billet on the grill! Love both Ford and Chevy!
Awesome trip down memory lane, I had a blast that day at the Silverdome. The crowd was as loud as the engines! I'm grateful youtube does not have limit on how long a video stays online.
Wow!!! Non pre-crushed cars with the glass. The good old days. This makes me 10 years old all over again!
Like that too. Seeing these monsters as a kid must have made it even more fun.
When a truck was a real truck

Holy crap! Thanks for posting this! I have fond memories of watching "Battle of the Monster Trucks" when I was a kid.
🙌🏾 My big brother (3 years older than me) was a Bigfoot fan, so naturally that made me a fan of USA 1.
Long live Bob Chandler and BigFoot...the original and best.
I see this two originals monster trucks in Puerto Rico in first middle of the 80’s! Awesome show!
I recall those days i miss the old days. They're weren't somemany rules vehicles were made in america (not asia) and people were social. Today with all this technology no one talks anymore they use ipads and i phones.
wow thanks for postin this those were the good old days at the silverdome
Everett is a really nice guy if you ever meet him. Super down to earth and willing to help anyone.
I use to go to the Silverdome whenever the Monster trucks were in town back in the 80's and early 90's I would go to all the events there that's when he trucks were real bodies they were not all bars and fiberglass it was a real Chevy or Ford Truck and that's what I loved about them days.
I favored USA-1 because the garage was just near my house. I remember my friends and I riding our bikes over to check it out.
Back when monster trucks were actually trucks, no shit, they used to be actual trucks.
Great old school monster truck and mud bogging action.
I like old skool trucks

This was the time when Men were Men and Trucks were Trucks.
And women were hot and a tranny was almost always found between an engine and a rear end, now a tranny is found with a questionable rear end.
27 people who watched this video must drive a Prius.
does the original bigfoot still run
TOMZM15 it was dismantled in the late 80's and Bob Chandler made a replica of it and it still runs to this day
what he meant by "back when they were actually trucks" is since now they're big dune buggies with a truck style body. :/

True and you'd never see the crazy shit they do now either if it stayed the same. These old trucks would fold in half if you tried to lauch 20 ft in the air
Its kept as a show piece, and it does run.
kinda funny Everett and bob really haven't changed much though fascinating how bob was an innovator on these trucks and still #1 40 yrs later .... most of his competition is history hehehe even Everett retired from the sport

Holy shit balls!!!
did you notice that they stopped USA-1 way earlier than Big Foot go? probably not to make ruts and not make it impossible for BF.
Pretty sure thats a '74 but yes, beautiful truck
